this was a cute litte game. not sure how much time you had with this, but since it was a short game you could have put some time into maybe animating the character and making it look more appealing.

I love the concept, it's a nice memory game :) I really like the aesthetics and animations :)
However, the game is quite hard: you can't retry to find the objects. In my first run I spent quite some time to do it intelligently and remember where I put things, but then I didn't succeed to open boxes (^^' just **hold** right click), died and everything was lost. I reused the same letters for the objects, but it takes some time to wait for the good letter to show up. Sadly, this reduces the replayability a lot!
Interesting idea and super cool graphics! I think the game could be improved by having a loading bar above the crates when opening them, otherwise 's all good man!
I really like the novelty behind this! The idea is very unique and silly but cool at the same time. Unfortunately, I think the selecting letters for items phase takes too long. I couldn't stand to replay it more than twice. It was fun to try to come up with a scheme to remember all the items!
One of few games that has me coming back to solve it. Nicely done, engaging. Catchy music. Thank you for making it.
The concept is great, but 20 things to remember is a little bit too much at the beginning. Maybe a softer learn curve with less items at the begining could help. I really liked the story and the beginning part where you need to put items inside boxes, is really cool visually! Even the main game screen is cool, except for the main character that seems a little bit out of place. Really catchy music and good job overall! Keep it up! :)
Nice graphics and creative game, it is very hard o remember all the things, but as the things are allways the same, I put them in boxes A,B,C,D and E :) When I won, I was sinking, it was weird.
I agree with @hav24, a softer learn curve with less items could help.
Thanks for the feedback everyone! I actually planned on having the items you had to collect to survive be randomized, and let you restart without having to pack all the stuff again, but I ran out of time... If I make a Post-LD version later, I'll make sure to make it more varied and add a smoother learning curve.
Nice game. A lot of my feedback is the same as has already been said, so I'll avoid repeating it. I just wish I could make the game fullscreen; it's so tiny on my 4k monitor!
Really cool game, good job! I will agree with others before me, a smoother learning curve would be great. Also, loading the boxes takes a long time, as you have to wait for boxes to go through again. Finally, even if I remembered where I put everything, I don't necessarily remember the silhouette for each icon - if you could, add the name of the items needed.
This is a very charming game but I think I would have preferred a level-based structure where the game would start with just like 4 boxes and then built up from there in subsequent levels.
Interesting idea! It was interesting trying to figure out mnemonics for items (I stored them alphabetically and ran into trouble with letters that had multiple item options!) That said, the time limit felt very strict, especially since I had spent more time arranging the items than going through them. It'd be good if the game told the time limit (apologies if it did and I just didn't notice!) The art was very nice!
I think I ran into a bug: I held right mouse on a box and midway changed boxes; the "opening" text from the original box stayed floating in midair and after that every time I started opening a box, the timer jumped to 8, meaning that I could leisurely open every box.
The game has a really good concept and would surely benefit fom the ability to restart without losing your selections and randomised goals. To be honest I'm not sure why you'd throw stuff overboard but It would be interesting if that gave you extra time or something.
Cute little memorization game! Like others, I'd initially attempted placing objects into boxes based on their name, then resorted to a mnemonic system when certain letters overlapped. My first run was horrible since I wasn't aware that throwing off objects increases the time you have before drowning (it actually does!) so I spent time opening boxes only to find I barely had enough time to open any of them if I didn't throw anything off!
On my second run, I'd committed to placing only the objects I needed in A-E, but I'd accidentally thrown one of them off so I restarted and finally made it in my third run!
You mentioned wanting to make some of the required objects somewhat random, and this seems apparent since some of the items actually seem useful (compass, various food); that kind of idea can definitely be stretched into a more complete and interesting game I'd suspect.
Good work!
Oh a tiny fun game. I cannot blame anything, except the audio is not loud enough so I did not notice it in my first try (but it is not a bit issue). The difficulty is just right! Enjoyed it!
