Simple gameplay, light humor and funny easter eggs.
Cool entry, simple but well made.
it's a cute and basic game. some things i will say though:
-the "it's a feature, not a bug" thing is a little unprofessional, and adding things like bounds so that the player can't escape are fairly small but go a long way
-there are quite a few typos at the end, would be worth looking at
-timer is a little bit small
ultimately, it makes sense a lot of stuff didn't make the cut (because that's the nature of ludum dare), but there are some things that are fairly important. that being said, i actually really liked the "bad" art style, mainly because it was cohesive and kinda fun.
Was seeing if I could save everything, seems I probably can't. Overall the game made me laugh. Would have been nice to have some more gameplay, maybe actually bring the items outside to save them. Also, didn't really feel like sacrifices, especially when I saw what I didn't save. Sound effects and music would have been nice.
Thank you for the comments.
@tylerstraub You are right about the cut i had really poor time management and end up implementing the item pick up system in a rush at the end. Regarding the it’s a feature, not a bug at the beginning i had a huge boring list of issues with the game and i end up changing it to this cause i thought it will be more fun. Will take a look for typo thx.
@dk5000p I had the idea to be able to slow the fire and increase the timer but i would have need more items and more room when """"art"""" was already a challenge for me.I will probably keep working a bit on it to add music and more mechanics.
No matter how hard I tried I could never collect everything! I got within 4 items a few times, but I enjoyed trying to get it all.
Enjoyed the humor of the text and the frantic character. I think there are definite positives to take away from this experience.
I wanted the player to have to choose some item and never be able to pick them all so they have to discover new item description every time they play
Actually not as bad as it looks (sorry xD), I really liked the simplicity and humour of it! Well done!
Like the jokes. LOL
fun little game, though the objective is a bit meh for me. bigger ui font would be nice too and an invisible wall that can only be accessible on the last seconds would be nice too or, maybe a door that you need to knock off to get out will add more flavor to the game too.
I like the idea. Execution could be better, but if it's your first game jam it's really easy to mess up time management and end up with some of your "features".
I'm a bit drunk, so perhaps I'm biased - but I thought this game was awesome xD - I loved reading this list of things I sacrificed. Hilarious!
Well I dunno but I laughed! Also humor is good in this one and I found amusing to try to save things in particular. Okay it's not top notch or perfect, but the idea you had is nice. It would have been nice to add some sound FX a bit for more immersion but I do understand you weren't motivated. Anyway you did an entry and it's already nice
This one made me laugh. :) I liked the writeups at the end, too.
... difficult to comment on ;)
Wel... hum .... nice drawing!
I liked the humor, not just in the game, but in the game description on this page here as well. "The player can escape the area cause I did want people to feel free." Thank you! ^_^ It felt refreshing to get out of the burning house once in a while. You openly admit the sacrifices you made regarding this game, so for what it's worth, the minutes I spent playing it were fun.
Nice use of the theme, choosing what to save from a burning house (and being physically impossible to save everything) actually fits in with sacrifice idea really well. The game as well as the commentary in the description were amusing, and relatable because just finishing something (even if not very polished) is half the struggle in a weekend game jam. Congrats on making a simple humorous little game :)
I liked the graphics, even though they were very simple. Humor was also nice. On the other hand, gameplay was not fun at all for me. It's just mashing spacebar at random places. It could have been better if there was more to it.
"Graphics are bad, yes, but they are all equally bad and that’s a beautiful thing", ah yes, that is usually my excuse.. err... explaination as well  The game could use some sound effects and some music though. All in all a nice and humorous little game. Well done!
