I'm both sickend and intrigued by the visual fidelity of this game. Good climbing mechanics with the floating feet and hands. It's oddly satisfying launching through space. This game makes me angry in a fun way though.
The idea behind it is ok, the execution is kinda weird, but its fun overall, well done.
The graphics threw me big time. I wasn't expecting this game to have such satisfying climbing and boosting mechanics. Played the longest of any game I reviewed because it was just fun. One thing though, maybe use pixel art for the character if the asteroids are going to be pixels
I think I finished it? I got to a yellow thing. Overall, I really enjoyed the boosting mechanic, it just feels really good and has a nice sound effect. The climbing is a cool idea too, though the execution isn't perfect. Climbing on the bottom of asteroids works pretty well, but climbing up the sides sometimes gets stuck. It might also help to let me zoom out the camera a little, so I can aim my jumps better. Nice game, I think with some polish this could be the foundation of a really fun platformer.
@nikthenarwhal @squirmonkey Yeah unfortunately I ran out of time and couldn't smooth out the side-climbing. When it does work, it is pretty satisfying though aha. I definitely need to work on my consistency with pixel art graphics as well. Thank you all for the feedback!
Wow, this game looks super interesting! Great job on the graphics, very unique. Having the character climb against walls he collides with worked super well in creating immersion! The jet boost mechanic was also super fun, but I do wish there was less of a cooldown for it. Well done!
Haha, why the rocks are so slippy? :P
I really like the climbing mechanics! It did fail to latch on a couple times, but overall it was really interesting.
trippy , but really good
Like the idea of the climbing mechanics, although they are off at times. It would be less frustrating if you didn't have to start all over again, and if there were less leaps of faith.
Over all, a fun, little platformer.
Really exciting game (the most when you almost die before the portal :D). Climbing is really nice idea, but side-climbing is a little bit too slow I think. But in overall, game seems very noice! (btw, why in first i thought those rocks looks like chicken nuggets? :DD)
A quite good game. However the rocks bounds were quite hard to see, especially at first when there was a rock in mid air and i at first tried jumping over and then realized you fit under it. Other than that the feel of the game was good but the mute button did not work for me. All in all a solid game!
That rocket jump is fun. It would have been nice to know where I was going (often times I just launched myself to the right in hopes that I'd land on something). But hey - if you're escaping from the heat death of the universe, who really needs to know where they're going? :)
That said, zooming your camera, as mentioned by @squirmonkey, might help a bit with the "where do I go next?" problem. Unless that was intentional - in which case, it seemed to work rather well.
It's also a pity the side-climbing didn't work as well as the bottom-climbing. I tended to avoid side-climbing as a result, and that really limited movement. But when I was able to bottom-climb and rocket jump around... that was good fun. Well done and thank you for sharing.
fun game
Have you played Tinertia? This reminded me of that, but a more floaty, explorey version of it. I was actually pleasantly surprised when I climbed on the ceiling for the first time. Totally didn't expect that, probably because I failed on the side climb so much earlier lol. I did a decent amount of leaps of faith later in the level and it scared me every time since there's the death pit in the beginning, but luckily you placed some forgiving platforms there and I didn't need to restart the game lol. The concept is solid, I think you scared players properly in the beginning and I always had a sense of tension even if I felt like I was moving pretty fast.
Very interesting and mesmerizing art style. The mechanics are also pretty cool (especially the jet boost), but could use some polish, because sometimes the movement feels quite frustrating (getting stuck at walls for example). The step sounds are kinda annoying, might wanna tune those down a bit. It would've been great to respawn at the last portal and not at the very beginning. Overall though, this was fun and a trip worth taking, good job!
Fun game, the jetpack was my favourite aspect of it. It's easy to navigate around despite the climbing being a bit clunky. I'm not sure if I reached the end, but ended up getting into the yellow area to the far right~
