Same here, can't start the game. Please tag me if you fix it, I'd like to check it out :)
SourPls
You need the dll file to be included. Make sure you zipped all the files. While I used Unity and it does not seem you did, I was having issues cause I did not zip the dll file and this appears to be the same thing.
so i figured out a pro strat, just run left, then keep jumping and building the bridge under you and you can pretty much last forever. i think if the balls were smaller and they did damage to the player too, this would be the start of a pretty neat game.
Same, couldn't play. sorry.
Keep hitting a glitch where jumping by the edges causes you to instantly die even if bridge is under you
Game worked perfectly for me, animation on the legs are funny.
@jcmonkey @leave Thanks!
I like the cute animations and the game worked for what it was trying to do, shame their isn't much content after the first couple seconds. The music was a bit too repetitive for my tastes.
Couldn't get game to run. Said it was missing a DLL file.
It was pretty fun, but I could live forever if I just spam build.
Pretty basic game but considering you didn't use a premade game engine it's pretty good
A quick note: I could play infinitely by jumping before the ground got destroyed and placed new blocks as I was flying. Maybe you could restrict the player from placing blocks when they're in the air, that would make it a lot harder :P
couldnt play unfortunately :/
@randomerik @syrapt0r @jay-elbourne @rob-parker @turbo-torbo If you are running into the missing OpenAL32.dll: Then go into the OpenAL folder, and run oalinst.exe, then click ok. You should be able to run the game.
Running oalinst fixed the issue for me ^^
A good small game. Took me some attempts to understand the behavior of the eyeball, after that it was fairly easy to dodge the attacks. One strategy I found was to just hold the mouse button and aim at the tile you're standing on because you can't fall down that way. It's quite challenging when you don't do that though ^^ One thing I'd like to see is a final time once you die to get some sort of competitive survival game. Good job nontheless!
@syrapt0r Thank you for your kind words, and the good advice.
@fenderbate Thank you for your great idea. I was going to implement a build cooldown, and a weapon to shoot the eyeball (it would have a health bar), but I ran out of time.
The game is fun (once you figure out how to install it :P) and the music is kinda cool. It would be nice to have a timer or something so you could see for how long you've survived. I like the idea with the build system though. Good job!
@albin Thank you. Haha, the cons of using C++. If I used Java, then OpenAL would have been bundled. I appreciate your quality feedback. I will check out your game as well.
took me a few tries to understand the game better and be able to survive for longer than one second or so, haha. it worked for me without any bugs, didn't run into any errors when opening it either. thanks for the game!
@zozol Thank you for taking the time to play it.
fun game :) a timer would be nice
Nice game! Really cool and interesting! :D
This is such a great concept in a platformer for the player to create their own platform! Definitely a lot of room for future development.
And of course I loved the way the guy's legs move. That was pretty funny.
Nice game, Love how everything is balanced! Good luck, Don't forget to take a look at ours if you don't mind and see what it's like when we just focused on graphics in this game jam! Game Link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/spacelab-42a
