Keep working on this one; I feel like once you get a good game feel on this, it'd be something I'd enjoy a lot

Really likes the idea of the genres mix. I thinjnthere is an unintentioned function that allows you to have all the money you want in the shop.
Very nice concept to work on.
@lucas-guimaraes: Thanks for commenting!
@dp3rucha: Thanks!! I left those buttons in because, since it is a game jam entry and people may not want to spend a lot of time unlocking new techs, I left the opportunity to cheat your way through so they can try other features.
Really well done in only 48h ! Good game feel
Cool little game ! I love the roguelite games ^^ This one is well done ! I think it should be polished to show his entire potential !
That is a great game ! Keep coding :)
@Narudgi Thanks for playing!!
@Mathiouza Thank you!! There are some things I would have loved to spend some more time working on them but, literally 2 minutes before submission, the game didn't even have a title!
The driving itself feels very rushed, it would be nice to have some inertia on the car during turns, so it feels more like driving a wheeled vehicle.
The camera really doesn't leave you much time to prepare for the upcoming hazards, and hitting a wall quite literally sends you spinning out of control, but it's still quite a nice game.
@Ananace Thank you for your feedback! I probably should have spent more time tuning the amount of dampening on the lateral inertia and pushed back the camera a bit more.
I had a blast at the beginning, then the game got a bit repetitive as there doesn't seem to be a milestone or goal to reach besides maxing the tech tree. Also a bit rough around the edges (top down view kinda goes in the way of dodging, garage movement is a bit slow.) Besides that the game has really really great potential, good mix of both RL and racing genres and pretty original! You got my 5's for theme and innovation!
@Talops it's true that there is no end-game content or a real progression system for that matter. At some point, I was toying with the idea of creating some kind of boss or implementing some kind of ladder but I never got to work on that. Thanks for playing and giving feedback!
Really enjoyed your game, and it mixes the 2 genres very well. The combination is actually rather nice!
It's really difficult loosing your money between games. The roguelike elements can be more notorious. Fun to play but with a little more work it could become a gem!
I had a lot of fun playing this! Dodging and weaving through the obstacles at high speed felt very satisfying. I was very impressed by the whole upgrades system – you managed to get a lot done in 48 hours! However, I personally found walking to the track each time a bit tedious; perhaps the character could be a little faster on foot? Really enjoyed it overall, though.
Noticed a typo: "amorur" instead of armour / armor :P Screen Shot 2018-04-24 at 21.44.31.png
@bazld Thanks for playing!! I really enjoyed working on this project.
@MacDoom I had to make it a little bit tough. I think it keeps getting harder and I should have playtested more the later parts of the game when unlocking new techs gets expensive.
@Tom Panton Thanks for the feedback! I agree the character walks a bit too slowly. In retrospect, it kind of bugged me while making the game but, for some strange reason, I never addressed it and it is such a small change to make... Oh, and also thanks for spotting that typo!
Good compo effort, I liked the level of detail in the "talent trees". Seems I pressed the "give money" button on first play through though, which then meant I could buy everything and so I missed out a bit on the leveling up system. Interesting to combine driving with things that you'd usually find in a platformer like spikes and traps etc. One note on the driving controls, when you reverse, I expected the directional controls to work "the other way around". Some variance in tracks would be nice. I liked the area where you go into different building for different purposes, reminded me of rogue legacy pre-castle.
@Honest-dan Thanks for the feedback! I would have loved to work a bit more on the tracks (currently there are 3 tracks and each track segment picks a random set of hazards from a pool), but having the camera so close and not having any visual cues make it seem the same.
This is a really nice compo entry! I really like the mix of racing and rogue-like, I think you managed that quite well! It's nice that it has a lot of features and content (different cars, upgrades, many obstacles, and such). I see the _Rogue Legacy_ inspiration with the random car you get at the start of every run and losing all your money when starting a new run. As was already mentioned, the slow walk to the race track every time is a bit of a nuisance _( although this could also be part of the Rogue Legacy inspiration :P )_. It's quite difficult, especially when first starting the game, but it's a rogue-like after all ;)
I'm running Linux and can confirm that the build works fine! No issues, what-so-ever _(for me at least)_.
@NoahRo You are right, Rogue Legacy is clearly an inspiration for the game for the non-racing part of the game. I would have loved to put more of a personal spin on that part but, with the time constraint, I could only manage to make it like that... In the end, it is quite simple and effective.
First off, I really appreciate you giving a "give money" button for people in a rut who still want to see the rest of your game. I think I'll add a cheat menu in future games as well so help normalize skill levels. I definitely like the concept and it reminds me of SNES Off Road where iirc you could keep racing and just upgrading your car. Of course, you have much more significant upgrades here that affect the experience so it stands out there. The physics is definitely scary. It was a tossup every time I hit a wall how much I would rotate lol. With that said, there's a decent amount of obstacles here, a bit more than I expected for a compo so nice job on that!
@PeachTreeOath Thanks for playing! I created those cheat buttons for testing purposes but I ended thinking if anyone was going to play long enough to experience the game with tech unlocked (and it also makes up for some small issues with game balance). With the bounciness of the walls, I wanted to punish the player and I went overboard...
