I loved the music, neat graphics, and the variety of items/descriptions.
On my mac the graphics were a bit weird, it ended up looking like the culling was breaking as I moved, but as soon as I stopped it was fine
204 ratings given, and only 2 comments received. You must have rated hyper fast.
@vfabien21 It's not fishy. I rated all games during the day today and worked for the post jam version the last weeks. I did this every LD, taking one day for rating 😄 14h with some rest. Some games were not finished and didn't take much time
@wizebin Sorry to hear about the mac problem. I use Windows and can't reconstruct the issue. I'll ask a friend to help me with the testing.
The graphics looked nice in this game, but to be honest I wasn't entirely sure what the objective was? Your description makes sense, but since every object counts as correct then the game sorta loses its meaning... (I did only play the jam version. Can't tell if you fixed it in the post-jam one, but it still seems a little strange .-.)
@paulo-brunassi thanks for the feedback. I didn't think about that reference 😄
@samboyer276 Yeah true. Thanks for the feedback. I updated the game as described. The jam version has only positives. In the update it makes more sense to remember the previous item.
Starwars - The men in carbonite was my first thought when I saw the guardian on the screenshots ;-) Now I do not know why - because the Star Wars man looks very different ;-) http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Carbonite
Nice game! Watched the video only because I did not understand which one is the jam and not jam version?!
@hackschnitzel Thanks for the hint about the version conflict. I updated the description to be more clear.
Now that you say it, it really has a Han Solo thought when seeing the model fixed to the door xD
@satyre well 200 games in one day is an incredibly large number of games... Anyway, I have changed my original comment. Your game look interresting though.
@vfabien21 No problem, I'm currently also commenting some games I previously rated, which is more fair in terms of community work, instead of silently rating them. Due to your feedback I edited my description above to be more clear :)
Very pretty, fun game too! Nice memory span game. I got to the last room (or almost, it was the ninth item) and there were monitors everywhere showing me where I was looking but the door had nothing useful on it. I guessed and lost. That made me pretty irritated after spending 12 minutes mostly navigating around picking up the same items over and over. I just wanted to see the end. The throwing into the box could sometimes be an issue as well, where stuff would repeatedly bounce out.
Nice graphics and music ! The gameplay is original and fit the theme but become quickly repetitive and as all object was positive, there was not so much challenge.
Ok, now I have tried it ! That's a really cool ludum meta game. Of course the jam version is not complete, so it is probably not as fun as it is intended. But even then, watching the voxel models of previous jams is really cool (there is a WOW! effect when entering the museum). Now, lets try post-compo version !
Gameplay is nice, Good graphics :)
@eli-delventhal @edmond00 @vfabien21 @cayleblucas Thanks for your feedback!
@edmond00 The repetitive element of the game is also part of the theme, where it becomes annoying to use the same objects over and over again :D I changed it in the post-jam version to max 10 items, because in the testing I was annoyed with 40 rooms as well xD
@eli-delventhal The room with the screen corresponds to the item on the 2. floor "One Game on one Screen". Maybe you give it a try :)
@vfabien21 Nice :) I didn't thought about calling it a museum which it is indeed, thanks for the feedback.
Love the music! I like the little voxel objects too.
The graphics are really nice, and the movement really solid, the items descriptions are a darn good Lol.
Congrats on the solid entry
The Graphics were really cool, i did have a few strange glitches where the game would reset to the main menu, but i got it to stop by restarting the app.
Very nice graphics, i loved how responsive the controls were. Overally - very good game!
Pretty nice. I felt like I was moving way too slowly. Since I could see exactly where I wanted to go, it was mostly just frustrating to take forever to get there. Most of the symbols (trophies?) were the Gueardian guy, I think all of the ones on the second floor, so I never saw another symbol on the door. Since the door wasn't labeled I just grabbed a random one and it often worked.
The instructions were a little unclear. I've never played the packing a bag game you mention so that is unhelpful for me as a player. Are you supposed to always put them in in the same order ending on the newest one? That was my best guess, but there were only ever two lights on the collection bin, so It didn't give me feedback that was useful.
I just realized that it accepted any symbol I threw in no matter what. It didn't have to match anything.
I found the game confusing, but I think I get what you were doing. It looks nice. Keep it up!
Nice idea and pretty graphics. The blocky style just works really well with this :) Great result!
Great concept, graphics are sweet , there was a problem when I was holding some big objecy above my head and if I tried to jump that object prevents me from jumping, cool game though!
It never gave me an object besides the guardian one. Which was a little sad. Felt like more time should've gone into ensuring a bug free game. You had a lot of assets so I feel like perhaps too much time was devoted to those instead of the programming. Perhaps you should've made a minimal product with the last 3-5 jams, and then once you finished the concept you make more and more items.
Such a cool twist on the memory game, and I like how the names are old LD topics!
@basecase : Thanks for your review :)
@binaryunit : Thanks I tried to make the objects look like the last LD themes as close as possible :D
@masterkrepta : Does it happen while pushing the "R" key or by putting in a wrong item? Pushing the "R" key was for testing and doesn't give a sound, maybe this felt glitchy? Thanks for the review
@behenate : Thanks for your review :)
@bryceltaylor : That's true, I couldn't manage to find the acceleration change in the asset I used. On the other hand I tried a super speed effect during the development and got some strange collisions with the objects I carried so I deactivated it. The jam version doesn't have the full object set you can find in the post-jam version. The mechanics were set to positive for all objects in the jam version, because of time struggles :p. I agree about the instructions, they can be improved :)
@saphires : Thanks for your review :)
@sahilts : Thanks for your review :) I changed the objects position in the post-jam version, jumping should be more easy.
@wetdesertrock : Yeah due to time problems I could only add 20 objects and the main mechanic of the game. I wrote it in the description above ;) The post-jam version has already a full object set and funished mechanics implemented, also some of your suggestions are implemented. On the time topic, I invested less than 1/4 the time with the modelling, the main problem was the connection and preparation of the level mechanics which caused a lot of problems and fixing time xD modelling was super fast compared to bug fixing :p
@lilkrit : Thanks for your review :) I thought it would be nice to use the LD topics as a tribute to the jam :D
