Good Tower Defense idea...TD + Cards Battler, why not )
Looks really polished. Love the "Insufficient Metal" voice :P Overall, great game. Graphics, sound, gameplay are on point. Good luck and congrats!
The graphics are great and the concept is really good.
Selection icon doesn't match what is selected (it is offset left and down) - web build Enemies kept coming during build phase Was unclear how energy generation/replacement worked. some polish/cleanup of game - could make for a very intresting game.
Ahh, what a great idea for a game! I love the little 3D buildings, and the overall idea for a tower defense/RTS style game is great. I wasn't a fan of continuing to get attacked during my build phase, when I'd really like to focus on just reading the cards and making good decisions. Overall, I think it's a cool game that just needed a little more polish on some design aspects to really shine!
Selection icon works correctly in the windows build, UI was build for 1820x1080, I tried to make it work on other resolutions but ran out of time to make it perfect. Sorry for any inconvenience!
This got me seriously hooked!
I normally don't like turret defense games but the deck building did it for me.
However, other than the aforementioned low resolution issues, Round 6 of No Mercy seems to be borked, at least in the standalone build. Starting the round, all the animations are playing, I can check my cards but no enemies are spawning in and the countdown froze at 20. I've tried 3 times and it happens every time at that exact moment.
It's a real shame because the game is super good otherwise, even omitting the fact it was made in less than 3 days. Amazing variety of mechanics, furthermore they all have their place, figuring out what works and what doesn't is really fun. I really want to beat it.
Look to the north on No Mercy. The timer freeze isn't a bug ;) @drury
nice game
building this city with nice animations. Sadly after using some of the cards, it didn't let me add new card any longer, and I couldn't get past the building phase of the game. But the animations are looking great.
Press space to continue to the combat phase @tero-pulkinnen
I really like this game. It is balanced and makes fun. A few things I noticed. In the gamescreen the cards hinder sometimes, because you couldn't see from where the tofus spawn. Sometimes the selected card on the left side doesn't dissapear although I have built the building. It would be nice if you can remove buldings or move buldings with a little cost. The "tofus" not only attack the building wich is on thier directly way so it's easy to build walls with a little space between to distract them. Backgroundmusic would be nice, too. This are only improvement proposal. It's a really good game for this short amount of time! Well done.
You made a CARD RTS IN JAM? Good job!
I like the cards/TD mechanics, plus the idea of having alien tofu as enemies to have them be just white cubes. ;P
There's something odd going on with selecting the structures on the HTML5 version, though, the brackets are appearing a long way to the left and below the actual structures.
Yeah it's a known issue but I don't want to patch it since the jam is over. Everything else seems to work, seems to be due to something with the viewport not matching correctly in webGL
Creating TD game during jam is quite common but together with cards it's really rare! Fantastic concept, great gameplay and funny, even if simple, graphics. Great job, keep going!
This was really fun. I played far longer than I'd planned. I did find it annoying that the cards in the lower right blocked my view of what was happening on that part of the screen. They should collapse down into an expandable tab or something so you can see the entire battle field. Otherwise, I enjoyed this a lot. The card-based building mechanic was really fun.
I find this very innovative and very humorous. Good work on the graphics. Sound still needs a little bit work I guess. But I guess time was issue.
Please play, rate and comment our game aswell: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/disaster-on-nebula-one
I liked the game, but I felt that it lacked a little intuitiveness. RTS games always have more elaborate mechanics. Maybe just adding text at specific times would make the game more intuitive. For a 3-day job, you've made an excellent game!
Great game overall, quite a lot comments so I try not to repeat anything.
- The deck building screen was rather overwelming, I clicked play without expecting to be faced with a screen full of cards + text. Could definitely see people being turned off because of this.
- The fire particles from firing the cannons shouldn't be parented to the gun object. This makes it so the particles move when the head rotates which seems very unnatural.
- Are enemies supposed to keep spawning during build phase? If so, a reminder for players to hit the spacebar/next wave button would be nice. I ended up staring the screen for ~5mins wondering how long is the 1st wave.
- Tower placement OCD something something.
@rubyleehs can you explain what you mean by tower placement OCD?
Yes. enemies are meant to continue during build phase.
