Cool idea for a game and well executed. For me however fullscreen was just a black screen + the square game window in the left bottom (on linux)/ Also wowzers that flashlight uses a lot of fuel.
@aterlamia Hey, thank you! Unfortunately I have no idea how the Linux build works, I don't have a machine to test it on myself :( If you have any tips on exporting Linux builds from Unity, I'd love to hear them!
Congratulations on getting the Linux export correctly done. Could really have used some sounds Not sure if I was planning my digs wrong, but I was basically only making back the $ to refuel, never got to the point I could upgrade my digger.
Cool game, kind of addictive if you're just relaxing with a controller in your hand.
Pros: Cool idea, fits the theme, implemented well and impressive for the time given. Small details such as combining materials or the occasional artifact make the game more interesting.
Cons: Flashlight uses a bit too much fuel, no sound effects in game (I presume from a lack of time), upgrade costs might be a little off.
All in all, fun game!
Wow, my second time around was much easier than the first time! Nice solid mechanics - sort of a diggy take on Seas of Scred (at least that's the game I've played that's most similar to this). The balance of digging vs. returning to the surface seemed pretty good to me. I had trouble digging sideways a lot of the time, but I wasn't sure if that was intentional. Anyway, I spent a good amount of time on it, but I did not quite obtain the unobtanium.
It's so addictive!
@binaryspark sorry no idea i just checked for you i thought it was a setting, but if it is i cannot find it. But the game was playable and enjoyable still so it is a minor issue i think.
@ianburnette Thanks for your feedback! I've heard other people mention that they couldn't dig sideways, and I hope I've fixed that in the recent update. Hopefully.
I like this game alot, reminds me of dig dug.. and thats a good thing! :) Really good work, nice graphics and fun mechanics! Sometimes I have a hard time digging to the left.. not sure why. Anyway, great entry!
I was a huge fan of Motherlode back in the day so i absolutley love this. Great job recreating it i think you made a really good game! It'd be nice to have a health bar and damage sources too!
very fun to play, and work out different strategies. Running out of Power fit this game very well
Other then the bug where unobtanium wouldnt spawn and i couldnt finish the game, it was really fun!
@rubr Thank you again for showing me the map generation issues! I think I fixed them in the last patch.
Nice game. I really like the whole idea. My children played so much, I have to drag them out away from computer :D
@mintarcade Wow, thank you! I'm super glad to hear they liked it!
Good old motherload days! Thank you for bringing back those lovely memories. It's a lovely game with simple mechanics, a shame that there's a lack of audio but that's just how it is with the time constraints in a game jam.
I LOVED IT the game is pretty interesting the only problem was grafics but who cares
I've spent a lot of time playing this game, so that is a great thing. Maybe it was a little bit long for a single mechanic, but it was fun for sure. Not hard, but interestic to discover whats beneth the surface. Great game!
I have spent the most time playing this game than any other game yet by far. Excellent entry! And compo to boot! YOU'RE A WIZARD! I had so much fun digging mines, combining ores for efficiency and finding dat sweet purple unobtainium. My sole gripe was that the controls seemed sticky sometimes, often I'd want to flash my lamp but it was stubborn and took several tries to turn off, wasting lots of fuel. Despite the stickiness, I absolutely adored this game.
Edit: I forgot to mention the excellent graphics and animations. They are simple but fit so well. Audio would have added a lot to the game but you can never really fault a compo game for not prioritizing audio. It turned out great as-is.
@mr-houdini @wheffle Thank you for the kind words <3 I'm super glad you liked it
A lot of content for a compo game!
I liked the graphics of the ship :)
Do the ores combine to better ones? It was in the game, but no description further...
The upgrades were bit expensive, so it made the pacing slower than I would like.
Nice entry overall!
