Nice game! The gameplay was solid, I loved how you restricted the controls, and despite not being the best, the art and sound really added to the game, and combined the humour really set the mood for the game. Great job!

Thank you so much! I tried to work with what I had!

I liked that you could cycle around the course by going all the way to the side so it wasn't a COMPLETE guaranteed loss if you lost A or D, that was clever. Nice music and I liked the 2.5D graphics as well
I like the 3D pixel art style you went with, very cool. It was a little hard to see what was going on with my character blocking vision to what I was about to run into, and I found the end fight to be kind of buggy, but otherwise a nice little runner. Thanks for participating!

I would have put the camera at more of an angle so you can see in front of you.
I really liked the voxel graphics and animations, though i once went through the floor! Good job overall

Thank y'all! I now see the camera angle is a problem... And @quaternius I never experienced the floor glitch, which level was it on?
Ha ha ha, this is really funny! The boss fight was tough because there was a very specific place you had to be when shooting at the puppets, probably due to their colliders not being tall enough. Great music too!

@good-enough thank you! And yeah it was giving me a little trouble with them too.
Good job with this game. It was fun to play, enjoyable to beat the boss, and entertaining to eat your credits.
It might be good to have the sugar indicator scale to larger resolutions. When I played this at 1920x1080 initially, I didn't see the sugar at first (even though the tutorial mentioned it), so I was confused why I suddenly started losing keys. A larger indicator would have made this less of a problem.
Or maybe I should just be better at playing games.... Either way, good job. You made a good game.

Well done, i really liked the graphics and that you managed to include various types of levels and changed up the pace of the game each level :)
What i noticed tho that enemies were sometimes flying around?^^ and that i could just walk past the inspector boss^^ that was probably not intended or?^^
I also like the mechanic of restricting my movement once i got to low sugar it was fitting (altough this can be a double edge sword i guess, since if i am already losing i am restricted even more which makes me lose even faster?)
Overall great job with what you achieve in that little amount of time :)

@loktor Thank you! Yeah going past the inspector was something I was hoping would not be as big of a problem as it turned out to be :/ But I'm glad you enjoyed the game!!!
A fun game with a neat premise! I liked the mechanic of losing keys over time although losing [A] and [D] first could make it so that you're stuck on a path with no chance of recovery. The music was alright if a little erratic (something bassy to keep a beat going would've done wonders) and I really like the perspective angle that the game follows. Gives it a pretty unique look. Overall, a good job!
As others have said, I think the biggest problem of your game is the camera. Hard to see what's ahead, so hard to know my choices of what to do. I jump button feels a bit buggy, I was just teleporting up and then falling.
I think that the idea of losing the controls is neat! You should've explored that more, since the start of the game. It's what make your game different than the other runners out there!
Besides that, aesthetically wise, I can't say I enjoy it, but I'm aware that there's a public for the visuals you've picked.
One last thing, I couldn't pass through the boss. I just couldn't hit him and things were kinda teleporting around hehe.
With all those things said, you've done a good job. Try fixing those issues and you'll have a solid runner.
Really, really funny game.
##### Pros
I loved the control disable mechanic. I felt like it made the game feel super unique.
The voxel art you made was incredible and beautiful too.
The music complimented the game really well.
##### Cons
The fact that you throw sweets, I thought it would drain my energy meter because they are the same item that you pick up to gain energy. There should maybe be some sort of different item being thrown.
Why isn't there more of this game????????????
##### Overall
Really, really well done game.

@Connor-hagan Thank you so much!!! Yeah I see what you mean about the sweet throwing, and 48hr isn't much to make a lot of levels :sob:

@glimaleite thank you! I might have to release a fixed version if I can get around to it!
@kippllo I know but this game is absolutely hilarious!!! I want more!

@connor-hagan I'll contact you when I make a post-jam update ;)
It's a cool concept that running out of sugar(power) disables some controls. The game itself was also fun. although I think that it would've been better if the last level's shots were also draining sugar.

very funny overall pretty good
What I liked:
- voxel-pixel hybrid graphics. good look
- sfx: simple, funny, and effective mouth sounds
- music: the serious classical-minimalist style clashes with the otherwise funny mood in such a way as to actually mesh together perfectly
- gameplay: I was initially frustrated with the movement-restricting mechanic, but once you get the hang of it, it really makes you think in a strategic way that most endless runners don't. well done
What doesn't work as well:
- there are a lot of small areas where the graphics could use improvements, like the title screen and the UI
- the movement-restriction is just a little too eager. sometimes the level design means that if you cut yourself off from a control too early, you can't get any more food, because all the food is in that direction
- levels are very short, and you don't get much opportunity to increase your score
Overall an enjoyable, humorous game. Would love to see more

Thanks for the submission. I managed to finish the game. It was a bit short, but still enjoyable and finished. I agree that the controls get locked out in some cases where you end up stuck on one edge of the map without the ability to get more food to fix it. I wouldn't mind if the camera angle was just a bit higher so you could see over the player model. Cheers!

@spetsdod @crass-sandwich Thank y'all for the feed back! I do see what y'all mean about the level design and graphics.
I was going to rate pretty badly, but then I started reading the other comments and figured I'd have another go. There is no indication that running into the wall at the end was advancing anything. I thought I was just playing the same level over and over. It would be good to have some indication that there is progress being made.
The controls were quite awkward to use, and I often found myself losing control too quickly.
I also had to turn off the music, I found it quite grating.
Other than that, the concept is neat, and I liked the "story" once I figured out there was one.
Good job for a first Game Jam. Now keep improving.
