Nice music, art reminded me of South Park for some reason :') Nice try, but a cliched idea tbh...

Very strong entry, good music and cool line of sight effect.

Well Done, i got some good vibes straight away, i like how your scope wasnt way out and you actually created a playable game, double points for webGL.

lucien-catonnet 2017-08-02 10:16

The line of sight is pretty cool. I think the monsters have more or less health? It doesn't really show until you try to shoot them, which can be surprising. That's interesting because you want to kill them fast but not waste energy, and you never really know how many shots you need to kill them. I guess that was intended? Congrats on your first entry! :D

Thanks :) The monsters do have different amounts of health. We wanted to implement a health bar system but found that it worked really well without it, making power saving more difficult.

Great music! I really like that the flash-light strength decrease with your remaining power. This increases the pressure when you have almost no power left. The fact that monster has a different amount of health and you didn't add a health bar was a very good idea. As @lucien-catonnet said, it really forces you to manage carefully your energy and takes risks to not waste power. Well done!

I like what going on here except the controls, little to difficult to move around. Otherwise well done!

Wow great game, I see potential in this. I like how you have to think and make each shot count, also nice music.

The WASD/Mouse control is really fun, and I like the use of shadows around the wall corners and behind the zombies. I wonder how it would be if the flashlight were directional?

belga54 2017-08-15 00:21

The controls are easy and cool ! Liked the graphics and the zombies explosion ! Great entry !

The game is pretty cool. The music is very nice and atmospherical. But I think you should add a trigger because default mouse trigger destroys the horror survival atmosphere of the game. Graphics is normal but I think on unity could be better. And I didn't like the animations because there wasn't any animation. The controls are easy and convenient. Anyway. well done, great job!

I enjoyed the mood. WASD/mouse always works well for me. Wasn't much fun looking through repetitive mazes, but I enjoyed moving and shooting.

As others have said, the line of sight effect is pretty cool.

Even if you don't want to implement a healthbar, I think some visual effect for lower zombie health (e.g. they lose an arm) would be a good idea, as it wouldn't give too too much away but it would make the game more fun.

One potential problem I see is that there is no indication if new batteries even spawn in, so I don't actually know if this game can be rightly qualified as a high-score game, because if new batteries don't spawn in than you necessarily will run out of power...

The main problem I had was that sometimes I would be wandering around forever without any zombies or batteries, and then suddenly there would be a bunch of zombies and I would find some batteries, and then it would become silent again - I don't know if this is intentional, but it is kind of boring because there's nothing to do while there aren't zombies on screen except to wander around, and the world is honestly too uninteresting for exploring it to be very fun.

Well rounded game. No bugs and suits the theme. I liked the music. Congrats!
