I love the 3d art style. Unfortunately, the camera was way too close and too rigidly attached to the character. Combined with the motion blur, this gave me severe motion sickness and I couldn't finish playing your game as soon as combat came up. Plus, when I tried to pause it to get some rest (I pressed ESC out of habit) the entire game just died on me without a warning...

Very pretty game that I wish I could have played more of.

@for-science Thanks for the feedback! Smoothing the camera movement a bit could be a good idea. I'll keep it in mind if I make a post-jam version.

When one looks at such a nice screenshot he|she automatically has high expectations. Unfortunately the reality didn't meet mine. I hope the author will find this critic helpful for future projects or for improvement in this one. 1) The movement is not synchronized. When I push the button the heroine starts moving before her legs start moving. The same goes for the jump. 2) The gameplay and keys are not intuitive. After picking the key I walked to the gate and tried to search for the right key on the keyboard to push for the gate to open. Only once I found the right gate I realised it opens automatically. 3) The ninjas are impossible to fight, too quick. 4) It would be nice if there was at least some sound: for that you can record the sounds of nature and that would be effortless yet suitable. 5) No menu or "game over" screen makes the game frustrating, these components make the game cohesive, and it's worth to spend some time on them.

Overall, I think this project can be finished in the future and would make a nice game.

I would appreciate when game contains some HP identifier, I dont know where I wil die or is healths regeneration. Game is original and graphics looks good :)

zeriver 2017-05-01 12:21

Graphics are definitely the strongest aspect of this game, they are really well done and have this unique feel to them. Gameplay is simplistic and a little bit clunky but i feel that this is not the main focus of this entry, i think it's more about journey experience. It would be fun to see this game with more mechanics.

@chloravirgo Thanks for the feedback!

@hadik Yeah, that would definitely make the game better. There is health, and it's not regenerating, I just didn't get the time to make a gui, so I didn't have any way to show it.

@zeriver Thanks! I was planning on having alot of story in the game, but since it was quite ambitious for a three day project, the time ended before I could get around to it.

Thanks for all the nice comments! :)

Excellent art style. The enemy ninjas kinda freak me out though (because they are everywhere and standing in a creepy way lol). It's kinda cool that the enemies are nearly invincible. Found all keys and reached the ending area. Looking forward to having more content in the future~

Nicely challenging ninjae! Really love the softness of all the art, makes for a quite cozy little world :)

Also love how the main character has just a tiny hint of downs <3

Nice looking game! I find the graphics really charming :) However, my issues: * The fights feel really awkward: no health bar (I know you lacked time, no worries), no feedback (we can't know when we hit or get hit) and no clue how the enemy attacks. I fought the first two ninjas and then I just avoided all the others, running to find the keys and door. * I wish there was a way to know where you are , as I was not sure which door I was supposed to go to next (simply making different doors would fix it (though you wouldn't have time to make it I assume) * It didn't feel like a "small world" to me; It might seem strange to say that but it felt too big and I felt I could be lost. Not sure it needed to be so big. I think the gameplay itself should have been "different" although I get that lack of time wouldn't help to make a more "solid content". (not saying it should be small; just that it didn't feel so close to the theme in my opinion

Pretty good work nonetheless :)

I have similar sentiments as the other comments. The game looks amazing and I really love the character design. I played it more like a stealth game and out ninja'd the ninjas as the combat didn't feel quite right and I kept dying. I'm sure getting hit detection and feedback perfect in 3 days is impossible as well as the outstanding graphics so I'm glad I did have the option of avoiding battles.

You have the basics down though and with some story, nice music and a bit more game play you would have quite a cute little adventure game here. Great work on the aspects you did manage to finish.

I fell in love with the character style, it felt almost like something out of stop motion animation. Character animations are alright, but maybe add some more “punch” to punch. The world felt really empty and theme being “a small world” i didn’t really get that from the game (or the parts I got to see before the ninjas annihilated me). I can’t think of anything about the gameplay that hasn’t said already by other commenters. Overall I think there is lot of good in this game, it just needs a lot of rethinking and polishing. The endearing character style is what really sets this apart from others.

The character models and the landscape is super great. The fighting mechanics was sadly really bad, but I manage to reach the end, without fighting any of the ninjas. I hope you will make a more polished version of this game, and remember to give it some music and sound effects.

I absolutely loved the models of the characters, they had this really great and distinct look! The animations were also pretty good, however I guess there was some synchronization issue with the walking and the animation, until the girl gets to full speed. The combat also was really hard for me to get a grip on, those ninjas were really fast. I guess that's their job as ninjas, but still :P The overall game seemed interesting and reminded me of old collectathon games. I don't know if you will expand on this, but please, PLEASE take this kind of art-style and make something beautiful and unique! Great job nonetheless! :D

Such lovely characters! The graphics made this game. Was expecting a bit more gameplay to match the pretty look. I was unable to fight the ninjas so I just dashed through everything until the end. Some sort of audiovisual feedback when fighting would make it easier to tell if you're doing it right. Sound in general would have raised this game to the next level but in the short amount of time you did really good! :D

The most difficult part is launching the game. And this is the most technically cool game I've ever seen on LD38 That way character very lovely. P.s. I'm ashamed, but I tried to look under her dress p.s.s. Congratulations, my score makes your Ratings received above 20 )))
