Great game! Very well planned, and I've liked the art and how you explain everything! Nothing to complain.
Good job!

Good job!
A delightful little game! I stumbled upon it randomly, and really enjoyed playing!
I especially liked the spokespeople characters and their animations (spokes-creatures?). The story and context they add complemented/reinforced the pacing of the game, plus was entertaining! I found myself chuckling while playing :)
It felt like there was a dominant strategy to the game, which slightly devalued some of the building options. That said, I appreciated the importance of destroying buildings to clear room for new structures. It gave the game a dynamic feel, even with the dominant strategy.
I might suggest replacing the left/right arrow icons with clockwise/counterclockwise icons. Not a big issue, but I found myself accidentally clicking the wrong one occasionally.
So glad I found this game. Good work!
It was a fun little game, and one that I was glad I picked. It was really well planned and polished, and the gameplay/graphics were pretty solid as well.
I enjoyed playing because it gave me more purpose and depth than most other games, and it was (as said by the person above me) mainly a strategy game, which I really liked. The beginning was also put together very well, and after some instruction I found myself playing well in no time.
Great stuff, enjoyed the limited slots and balancing early game mines with later game factories just resource drain to get to the goal ion time.
Good characters and an interesting resource extractor!
I liked it :) Played 3 times and finally had a success. I was surprised to find on later playthroughs that the dialogue is actually not reacting to what I do -- you had me fooled the first time, I thought the messages about depleting resources and getting ET activity from Pluto were tied to my performance :)
I thought it was slightly odd that generators seem to have exactly the same power output as factories with no downside. Deliberate?
@karln Oh, I did not even realize that! I really found myself limited by the UI choices I made early on and was not able to display as much info as I wanted. The generators and factories do have the same output at level 1, but factories scale to a lot higher energy production once upgraded. This was an oversight on my part.
Quite liked this game! Enough that I played it once, failed with almost enough power, played it again using what I thought was the optimum strategy (just build 5 labs/mines, then once you've got the right amount (1875 Plotonite) just build 5 level 3 generators (won at year 2042, though was dinking around a bit), and then read comments here, and played it a *third* time to prove what I thought I figured out the first time ;). I'm sorry, but I think you're wrong about your factories and generators. According to in-game when I was playing:
Generator * Level 1 (cost 200): 5kj * Level 2 (cost 275): 10kj * Level 3 (cost 475): 15kj boosted = 25kj
Factory * Level 1 (cost 250): 5Pl -> 5kj * Level 2 (cost 325): 6Pl -> 10kj * Level 3 (cost 525): 7Pl -> 15kj boosted = 25kj
So, it seems generators are strictly better than factories.
As for boosting, I think at low levels it was a net loss, so I didn't build any in my second playthrough, but here it seems that a booster and 4 generators (80kj/mo) is the optimal build (5 generators = 75kj).
Way to go, making a game that I cared this much about ;)
Graphics were nice, liked the talking guys, although on my second playthrough with my "green" strategy of not making any mines or factories, the guy still complained I was depleting the natural resources of Pluto -_-.
Cool! Solid resource management game. The portraits & dialogue contribute to the mood really well. Gameplay-wise, it was a nice challenge, but with so few places to build (and relatively little time), it felt a little stifling - like I had to really optimize aggressively to be able to win. Also, maybe it's just me but the rotation controls felt backwards? Took a bit to get used to. Regardless, it was pretty fun. Nice work!
@jimbly I'm glad you enjoyed it this much! I looked at the code again and yep, I was wrong in my previous response. Apparently the only difference between generator and factory is at the level 5 tier of production (that's level 3 with two boosters). That's a pretty niche situation, especially because boosters are weak enough as is. I would have liked to get more playtesting in to ensure that each of the buildings was viable, but I was getting really close to the deadline nearing my final playtest. So close in fact, that I had to play the game at 5x speed to make sure everything worked. I only tweaked the speed back to how it is now as a last minute change :).
Nice little game - I didn't quite get that there was a time limit before it was too late the first time around, but that worked out on the second try, and I enjoyed the losing animation anyway :) I wanted to pause the game to think, but not being able made an interesting case of forcing you to calculate it on the spot with a time limit. The time limit was good for me - it felt balanced as I wasn't close to making it the first time, but once I knew what I was doing I could manage. Well done!
Thought this was cool. Interesting that you used the small world for constraints in where to build - that's a nice interpretation of the theme. Liked the messages as time went on! A little bit of sound would have gone a LONG way here next time, but I played again until the end and enjoyed it! Well done for 48hours work!
Very fun game, and the artwork is wonderful.
The graphics are beautiful. The action bar wasn't that informative, it would be nice to know what and how much each of the buildings produce.
Really enjoyed your game. The graphics were well done. There was some nice bits of humor sprinkled throughout. Liked the mechanics of being able to build on the planet. Kept pressing the wrong arrow, expecting the green part to move.
I think some sound effects would have been nice. I also didn't know what KJ meant at first. I figured out the second time through that it meant energy level. If the KJ was attached to the energy number it would be a little more obvious.
Good job overall, though.
I really enjoyed this, the Graphics are fantastically done. I wish there was Audio, and I wasn't able to get up to 10,000 KW but the game is very solid and I quite enjoyed it. Well done!
