Fun: It's fun, but the gun system seemed a bit confusing to me at first.

Innovation: the movement and world-shrinking mechanics are interesting.

Theme: the shrinking scene fits the theme well.

Graphics: the art style is simple but beautiful. The main character could have some detail, like the enemies.

Mood: it would be nice to know why the world shrinks when the red doors break

An interesting interpretation of turn based combat in a top-down shooter. Controls were not as responsive as I expected them to be because there's no way to control the strength and speed of character movement, thus it's easy to get hit by bullets in awkward positions. Enemy design turned out to be pretty repetetive as every foe looks and fights almost the same, the only difference is the frequency of shooting.

Try to add more variety if you're intended to grow something serious out of an existing prototype. It may become a good game one day.

Thank you so much for your feedback, you have no idea how much you comment on the graphics means to me, I have always had a hard time with art and was very happy with how this game turned out. That is a good point about the controls I am thinking about a way to balance agility with fine controll and am not sure of the best method. I would of course have loved to add more enemy types but unfortunately there are only so many hours in 3 days. Thanks again for the feedback!

@certainly-canyon The artworks are stunning and eye-catching. I decided to check yours out because I was impressed with them. They are simplistic enough to feel clean, the wall and the doors are clear while sharing the same patterns, and the tone of the color looks just right. I would have loved to play the game, but I'm on Mac :( Good luck with the judging scores!

Oh, and update your cover image. It deserves to be seen.

Really like the art style, interesting controls and mechanics, but not sure it was that fun trying to move around for a fast paced game. Sound was nice, needed some music.

I liked the fast pace of this game combined with the permadeath mechanics and easy death (surprise: I like roguelikes, although mostly the text based kind). The bullets looping around the world was a nice touch, but in general, I felt like the combat was a little simplistic. More variety would have been nice. The homing missiles are great though. The artwork looks very good and I liked the music. Overall, this was pretty good and felt polished. I got to level 6-3/3. One more thing: the level dislpay is a little confusing. Nice job!

The style really catched my eye, so I'm looking forward to play this. But, sadly, I'm experiencing a bug for some reason. Neither enemies neither player character don't shoot any bullets. There's sound effect, player character is pushed back (as of recoil) when I'm trying to shoot, but nothing appears in the game field, and no damage done to anyone neither. Hope this will be fixed somehow so I can play!

Very interesting game! The first part of the game is really enjoyable. The movement controls are a bit weird but it makes the game more stressful and more fun. The enemies are a bit basic and especially the boss. The boss is really quite boring compared to the rest of the game. It is to predictable and to similar to the other enemies. I think having some parts of the boss's behavior random would fit in well with the rest of the game. I really think you should make something more out of this game!

Please make this a mobile game somehow with more levels more weapons, etc. Loved the mechanic, would make an awesome dungeon crawler

Pretty different kind of game. Think I made the wrong choice to jump right to the boss instead of collecting power ups. I was trying to shoot around corners before the bots noticed me, but the wall hit boxes seemed a bit larger than drawn. The gun recoil seemed pretty large too, I kept disappearing off screen at the start.

Look forward to seeing this grow more after the competition. Could be neat to have some different elements added in to make up floors.

Great art style! The game would seriously benefit from Procedural Generation. The game is interesting but the movement isn't exactly a lot of fun to play with. Also, the gun recoil caused some movement issues with the walls.

Boss was very well done! Great job on AI for a jam game.

Pretty neat concept and interesting use of circuit diagram looking graphics. Gameplay seems like difficulty ramped up really fast. I was pretty confused about controls at first (but then again I didn't try the tutorial or look at the page here much until I was confused). A nice entry overall.

zarkonnen 2017-05-20 07:39

The graphics look really cool, but the gameplay is really confusing. Most of the time, no bullet came out of my gun, so I just sort of recoiled myself into the enemies trying to kill them like that.

terryg 2017-05-20 09:12

interesting take on the theme. there were times when it seemed my bullet range was not great and I had to go right up to enemies to shoot them, but then it would fix itself.

stefvanschie 2017-05-20 09:42

A fun little game you got. It took some time to learn the basics, but not too long. The gun system feels a bit counter-intuitive to me, but I got the hang of it after some time.
