Hooray! Actually completed it and found a VHS tape. :D
Pretty tough but it becomes easier once you work out how the snakes move. The procedural generation works fairly well, I was able to find all four pieces and couldn't see any disconnected parts.
Might be worth considering a counter to show how many pieces are left, and you could add easy/medium/hard where there are fewer or more pieces that you need to find, and you can get better/worse artifacts? :D

"a website made using flash" lol, indeed its already gone now :D
dem snakes move too fast lol, i lucky enough to find 3 pieces very near me at the start
i like the random nature of this game, different start point at every time, probably need a bit more validation that make snake not spawn near player at the first start
so far so good, a very solid entry

Nice idea, however sometimes frustrating to follow long hallways just to get to an empty room without anything in it - overall a simple but well executed idea though :)
The level generation is really good for a solo game jam - I totally commend you on it. The enemies came really fast making the game incredibly difficult for me but don't get me wrong - I loved it. Pretty much flawless on the bugs side of things as far as I can see.
Sadly, I can't get the windows version to run in Wine (linux). Crashes with a null function pointer, and I have only Linux machines. It looks nice from the screenshots though
I really like your game idea. I love procedural generation games. Just investigate more in order to not die as soon as you start playing, fix the map generator bug and you will have a funny game here.
(Maybe this helps you: http://pcgbook.com/)
The ideas is good and beside the mentioned sometimes required restart ist plays really well and is fun. But it annoyed me that the player circle is not the center of the light orb :/

Nice random generation. I think im afraid of snakes now. They move so fast it feels like a jumpscare.

@Alexbrainbox That is not a bad idea, Maybe even make the map bigger. I may consider a post jame version and spend some more time adding in the other bits I couldn't fit in.
@Ghen & @DiegoCTorguet That is one of the things that bugs me as well I should have done a check to make sure they didn't spawn in the same room.
@burnedkriby Linux version has just been uploaded
@rynti @peterthehe & @onyon I am glad you enjoyed it :D
@TheMightySice I forgot to update that bit, I think it is about 5 pixels out which is mildly annoying.

I managed to get 3 different artifacts by dying many many times. I find it very easy to die because the snakes moves really fast sometimes I didn't even have time to react and then I died. I guess that's when I feel like the game is unfair. However, since the game is fast pace and it restarts quickly so it doesn't feel like dying is a big deal. It is surprisingly enjoyable to just walk around and find collectables. The lighting effect is pretty nice, adds a lot of atmosphere. Make me feel like I am in an ancient ruin finding stuff.
The random generation part is really well done, congrats! The now knowing what's ahead and the play with light is a nice touch. But the enemy snakes are a bit unfair, they move too fast and most of the times it feels a bit unfair. I think it's a good idea that would benefit from other hazards that are not super fast snakes.

Beat it purely by the generator only spawning one snake for the whole level.
Commodore 64 :P. Sometimes the player can spawn into a snake and the player and light aren't centered. Other than that, a littlebit challenging and fun to play!:)

The one time I got to 3, the generation blocked off the last thing. ;-;
It would be nice if the light were centered(it really bothers me).
The game seems very smooth. :P
The snakes are too overpowered! I dont even see them before I'm dead which makes me feel dying wasnt my fault, which made me stop playing. Level generator seems to work pretty good.

Nice work! I found a Floppy Disk :D
I spawned once or twice next to a snake, which made things difficult. That said, handling snakes was a fun learning experience, as dodging them after the first few was easy.

Hey, I was actually a bit scared of snakes. Watch out! Interesting idea. A bit too hard maybe?
I got myself a Sega Mega Drive - not bad for a few minutes work! The generation algorithm here isn't perfect, but it is pretty fast, and pretty balanced overall. Good to see HaxeFlixel in use too!
Maybe a larger viewport (ever so slightly) would allow the player to see the snakes before they come knocking, especially in those narrow corridors where they're waiting just on the other side. The light on the player was a cool effect, with different brightness out from the source, though it could have been centered a little more (and for bonus points, it could even extend further at the much reduced brightness!). Good jorb all told!
Awesome work! The level generation is a nice touch. The color scheme is nice and easy on the eyes and I like the snake movement animation. I unfortunately seem to have a habit of falling in a pit of snakes, but I enventually found all 4!
