Could you explain a bit more? I understand camera mode changes the light bolts and they need be sometimes on a pressure plate, but in level 3 I'm lost. Can't figure out when the camera is able to take a picture. Neat style though!

vulkanmannen 2015-04-20 10:24

Sorry, don't get it. What is my goal? I understand that i can take pictures and that i froze the white things with gray pictures. I didn't get what the other picture settings did. I got to level two but i dont know how.

eregaia 2015-04-20 10:37

@strong99 level 3 is kinda a dont assume what you see >_< maybe i should have made a proper effect for it OTL

@vulkanmannen basically you need to activate the button thing so the portal opens.

hmm maybe i should change it a little =\

mrdave 2015-04-20 10:41

I found (and from reading the comments I think other people struggled as well) it hard to know what the different camera settings did and generally what the goal was. I found this a shame because obviously a lot of thought had gone into the game.

@retrophantom I think it would be good to update the description so it was more obvious what the objective was and what you can do in the game.

eregaia 2015-04-20 11:27

@MrDave i was actually hoping you guys would experiment and try it so when u realize what it does you will go ahhh so thats what it does. hahaha OTL but yea theres too little visual cues cause i was just winging the mechanics instead of doing my storyline(which also serve as a tutorial).

ker0chan 2015-04-20 11:46

Nice mechanic to explore. Collisions are a bit wonky, I got stuck into a fairy, then stuck a fairy into a wall (it's a know issue though :P). The music is very nice !
Great job on completing a game :)

mjaawa 2015-04-20 12:19

Really good concept, I like the music too and it gives the game a nice mood. Good puzzler!

eregaia 2015-04-20 13:02

@ker0chan yea, construct2 apparently has a problem with pixel perfect collisions, so i had to shrink the box a little.

@MJaawa haha thx, but my levels are pretty much just thrown in. i changed from platformer to this so its not as fun as i wanted it to be T_T i was really excited about this idea tho

ccglp 2015-04-20 15:06

It's a good concept, and the music is good. Maybe a bit too cryptic, but it's good overall

texdata 2015-04-20 15:07

hard to get it but once you have taking iumages is nice idea. ghosts are a bit to unforgiving,

kbf123 2015-04-20 15:16

I can't clear the first level...
probably my fault.

androniq 2015-04-20 15:20

Nice idea, but I didn't really understand what to do. I froze all the fairies then stood on the button, took a picture of the button, took a picture of the circle, while standing on the button, on all the camera settings. Nothing seemed to have any effect.

eregaia 2015-04-20 15:52

OTL guess i really need to work on that tutorial stage huh, but its gonna take awhile meanwhile, im just gonna spoil the game. button only activates when fairies are on it

colludium 2015-04-20 22:01

Nice music and effective graphics. I'm not exactly sure what I was supposed to do with my camera - whenever I clicked, nothing seemed to happen... Good job on completing your game!

pietro-ferrantelli 2015-04-21 11:17

Cool and well exploited concept ! Really like your interpretation of your theme and the music is nice ! Good work retrophantom ;)

ruka 2015-04-22 02:49

I can't get past level 1 :( , but this is a very interesting idea.

legacycrono 2015-04-22 03:59

It was difficult to understand at first, but it's pretty neat once you understand how it works. There's a few issues, though... Exposure only worked once for me, it revealed a few of the secret passages but the rest wouldn't reveal no matter how many times I used it. Shutter is not very useful at all, or maybe I just couldn't figure out where it would be useful. Also the whole "press E to equip camera" was confusing, it would be better if it was equipped by default (there's no reason not to). Sadly it was a bit short, and none of the puzzles were much of a challenge. I'd like to see an expanded version of this with more levels. Good job!

romixal 2015-04-22 08:09

I've got some glitches, but i had fun solving puzzles.
Very joyable expirience.

horsed 2015-04-22 11:10

I didn't get it :-( In level 2 no fairy wanted to step on the button. How can I make them go where I want?
The music is nice. Somehow it reminded me of Professor Layton games :-)

reismahnic 2015-04-22 17:54

Cool concept! Nice sound and visuals. Wish the gameplay was explained a bit further in the game itself, but overall still a great piece.

teamcalcium 2015-04-22 17:56

I do not understand the Objective in this Game. How do i Activate the Button? What does it do? "Activate the button to" what? Audio was good, until it stopped playing after i took a shutter picture. Weird Game.

the4thcircle 2015-04-22 17:59

I found it hard to control to camera, clicking often did nothing after selecting a camera mode. Makes me question whether the mouse control is really needed to augment the camera function, rather than just have it as a one key ranged attack from the current position.

Also level 3 seemed to drop players in it a bit early. Introducing a mechanic to reveal hidden pathways is probably a bad level to contain pathways which said mechanic does not actually reveal.

dracomagna 2015-04-22 17:59

I can't pass level one, the idea seems good, but I don't understand how to activate that button at all.

phi 2015-04-22 18:00

I'm totally lost on this one. When I finally figured out I had to get a fairy to step on the button, I didn't know how; in level 2, it suddenly teleported me into the next level, no idea why; I have no idea what the picture taking does, it appears not to do anything for me...
I'm sorry that I'm too stupid for this game. :(

pohycz 2015-04-22 18:09

Couldn't get past lvl 2, no fairy wanted to step on the damn button :D (But that may have been my fault? IDK.) But yeah, nice music and I like the concept :)

roguenoodle 2015-04-23 09:06

Interesting mechanic, though I think the first level throws you into the fire a little too quickly. Really enjoyed the music - very Zelda!

garethiw 2015-04-23 09:10

Good use of theme. I didn't really find a use for Reveal (or Slow, really) but I'm guessing you had more ideas than you had time for :) Good effort!

stevesalmond 2015-04-23 11:03

At first I couldn't tell where I was in the game window. Eventually figured out I was the little camera thing in the bottom left. Once that 'clicked' (badoom-pish) it all started to make sense :) I didn't read the instructions properly though, so I didn't get what the 1/2/3 options were doing and just kinda spammed them! I think a little bit of in-game teaching might have helped a ton for lazy players such as myself. It's always tough though, with so few hours in the jam! I really liked the concept here, would like to see it developed further.
