Fixing for PC
All fixed, download and play :D
Interesting idea, but the controls feel floaty and makes it too hard to progress. With a bit more polish, this could be a lot of fun
I can't get out of the first room, trying everything. Eventually the game weirds out and all the buttons stop working entirely. This is on web.
The controls are definitely, well, dodgy, but I really like the idea!
Mm, okay, thanks for the feedback guys! Red Sigma, I agree, alot of people on IRC said the controls were dodgy too. That's why I added JKL in hope it would fix it :D Pastry, to get out of the first room you must hold J and climb the platforms to collect the orb. You may then pass through the laser and continue. Obsticles are in your way though. Press X to cheat, it makes it easy :) Res, thanks for the feedback!
The controls and physics feel a bit wonky at times. I like the graphics and sounds
Very cool artwork. I was a little confused overall, and the control scheme is pretty tricky. I think you've got a cool idea here, it just needs some more time.
Thanks for your feedback guys! I am glad you like the art :) I agree, like you that this could be a better game with more refined controls and a better explained idea. Thanks though :)
Cool concept, but I don't see LD theme there :(
Also, the screen is very small and sometimes I can't understand what to do.
But cool, yeah!

Very hard to control but I like the idea of working with colors to go through levels.
Pretty interesting, and I almost got to the end, too. Until I accidentally saved on a green bar and died repeatedly.
volkoivan: Thanks for your opinion! The idea was that you are playing on one of those old crappy computers, which is the border. Thanks though!
Wandersenus: I don't know if you are a cheater, a spammer, or someone who uses another language, but please leave constructive comments. I have seen you on various games, and if you are legit I am sorry, but otherwise it is a very dodgy game you are playing here. Good luck though :) I hope I am not mistaken.
Lolwned: Hmm yes, the controls need to be refined. Thanks for your comment! :)
Keep the comments coming guys!
Neat concept. Nice retro look :)
Gee thanks Bogden, means alot :)
Concept is cool, graphics neat but I can't get through these controls. I know it was probably for purpose (game name), but because of them, game gives me more anger than fun.
I like the concept, but it's a bit confusing. I didn't make much progress. Also, I think changing the jump from spacebar to something else could help. I couldn't go right, holding a color and then jump, for example, because of the keyboard key limit.
Tonasz, thanks for the feedback! The keys did need work, to be honest, I am not a very good player of my own game unless I press X (cheat key) so next LD I will have to think about the controls :)
zanenga, Yeah, it is hard to make progress with the slightly confusing controls and concept, but thanks for the feedback!
Interesting gameplay but the controls aren't very tight and I kept getting stuck on things. If you make the controls a bit better and make some easier beginning levels for newbs like me this could be a great game!
bushmango: Its strange you should say about the begginner levels... I actully did have them, but I though they were a little bit silly and boring.. I should have stuck with them! I think that would have been a great way to introduce the game to new players. I'll keep this in mind for next time, thankyou! :)
Great concept, but I felt the controls to be a little unfriendly to the gameplay. It was overall a pretty enjoyable game. I liked having to sort of memorize the layout of the rooms before proceeding. It seems like it should be simple but it's not so easy to dodge spikes that you can't see!
Hi there. Like the movement and look&feel, SFX. The jump out of first room seems too high, Web/Chrome/W8.1. Like the instructions ingame.
Thanks Andrew! It is difficult and it requires skill to remember where everything is :)
mrExcessive: Thanks! I am not sure what you mean, but check you are not blocked by anything (X) and also remember you can go super high if you tripple jump! Thanks for the comment! |:D
Challenging and a really cool concept. Controls felt off, or maybe I just suck...lol. Nice job :)
Really cool concept, though I was annoyed by the buggy jumping and getting stuck to walls. Hopefully that wasn't implemented like that intentionally.
rantt: You don't suck :P Controls are 'dodgy' :P Thanks!
Omer: It most surely wasn't meant to be buggy :) The sticking to walls was a bug that I did mean to fix, but didn't have time to. Thanks for playing!
The idea is really cool. The controls could be a bit tighter for my liking but I really enjoyed it. Nice game.
Nice! I like the concept and the retro visuals. Good job!
Nice concept, good work on the theme. I found it very difficult though. Maybe it would have been easier if you could see one colour at all times instead of needing to keep checking. I also think the controls are a bit tricky, I think you slide a bit too much which leads to frustrating deaths. I also encountered a bug, if you fall into the blackness just after the title screen you seem to get stuck and I needed to refresh the page.
Controls were a bit whacky, the inertia was a bit annoying. Trying to find where I can land let alone control the character was frustrating. Collisions weren't great, but the game idea was nice. Was fun when I got the hang of it though.
I think there was definitely a good idea at the core of this game, but the play was a bit too much for me to juggle. I tried a lot of times. At first I couldn't get past the blue lasers coming down, then I went back to it later and tried with a lot more tab-checkpointing, like every time I could bring it to a stop. But I still couldn't get past those narrow green platforms. The guy just slides too much!
My feeling is that the blind play required by this was at odds with the slight soupiness in the controls. The way the camera moved meant I didn't really know where on the screen stuff was, and I didn't have a feel for my own kinematics due to the inertia. The double-jump was juuust wonky enough that I couldn't quite plan out in advance what I was going to do. So rolled together I would leap and then feel lost. Sorry! You were so close!
Platformer controls are tough to get just right for the specific game - I put a bit too much inertia on my own game as well, and regret it.
Fortunately in your game I could play a bit further once I gave up and used the X key. Before that my tactic was to just spam jkljkljkljkl, etc. The battery probably was a weak point in the design because I could always just hit T and reset it, so it wasn't a meaningful limitation for me.
Love that you went after such a tough concept, bold try and good jamming!
Gee guys, thanks for the great feedback and constructive words!
I haven't been able to read them all rescently because I don't have access to a computer (on an iPad now)
In regards to all of your friendly comments:
Thanks! The wonky physics and controls definitely need work, I think the main reason I messed this up was because in the past, with c++ and sf l, physics is just speedx*= 0.4 every frame, where with unity, you have all these crazy settings that are not really ideal for platformers.
The camera control was definitely dodgy, I think I liked the smoothness when I put the script on the camera, but looking back it really would have been more suitable to just parent the camera to the player.
I like your idea of making it so you don't have to hold down the colour key, you just tap it. Maybe I could continue work on my game and fix this! :)
Joshua: Press T! :)
Throstle: this means a lot, thanks.
Thank you everyone, as a 13 year old developer, it really means a lot to see all these kind words :D
