I love the trance music! What does this have to do with evolution? The ending seemed like it was slapped on in the last second tt fit the theme. Good game though! I played the whole thing!

chronodk 2012-08-28 12:27

Very enjoyable game here! Even with the simple graphics, it feels quite polished already. I imagine some sort of explosion when releasing the red circle would have been a nice touch.

devaki 2012-08-28 12:29

I literally liked it , played it up to level 13 of 25, stuck on that.
Level builds are brilliant thinking they're made up in 72 hours.
Very nice control system, though ignoring transparent object for raycast would've been better.
I really enjoyed it, congrats!

P.S.: For anyone who'd like to test it but can't since it is Windows build, it's not windows build, it's Unity Web so you can try :)

aceria 2012-08-28 16:18

I thought transparent objects ignored the raycast, but I could be wrong. There was a major bug in the camera that I found an hour before submission, I fixed that but might have messed up that one (which should be a 1 line of code fix). Glad you enjoyed the game.
I'll also add the same link as a web link to make that more clear.

Quick and fun to play. I like the mechanics.

travischen 2012-08-29 04:30

It's like techno golf. Good stuff

saintheiser 2012-08-29 14:26

Cool game. I like the game mechanic. But can't figure out how you implement evolution.

benderbinary 2012-08-30 03:39

Really impressive!

madflame991 2012-08-30 20:13

The game was fun to play, really, and it was polished too, and the music was ok also but, but, but I fail to see anything remotely related to evolution in it...

abpositive03 2012-08-30 21:39

One of a best games I've played so far! Very addicting... a little weak on the theme (as you said yourself) but I don't think I care :D

repstyle 2012-08-30 21:54

A nice game for mobile device i think in the metro.
A bit destabilizing to click behind the cube to push him.

And what the link with the evolution theme (no you can't answer that we evolved in the game by passing levels :)) ?

aceria 2012-08-30 22:04

You evolve by passing levels.

No seriously, you do. Apparently it's difficult to see, but every time you pass a level you gain cubes to fill yourself up. Once you complete all 25 levels you get an ending that binds it all together. At that point the name also makes sense. It's all a bit far fetched, but we decided that gameplay > theme.

Great that everyone is enjoying the game!

revelorenfield 2012-08-30 23:55

Nice golf-like game. Simple but pretty graphics.
Pit Of Frustration was a good name for the last level...

christinaneofotistou 2012-08-31 00:41

Fantastic gameplay, wht a fun game. Finished in 35 minutes! Kudos and full marks

doft 2012-08-31 04:54

Really nice! Some levels were a bit difficult though... not the last one, it was somewhat easy...

gregdevice 2012-09-02 07:50

Brilliant! Love the gameplay and level challenges. Most of the levels are easy to do after 1 or 2 tries, but it's still fun.

sfernald 2012-09-06 01:26

Great game. Reminds be of playing golf games for some reason. Enjoyed it quite a bit. Simple yet fun and addictive.

cataclysmicknight 2012-09-08 16:39

Definitely great job, you did a LOT with that little time!!! I got stuck on stairway with the red blocks, but it was great!

aceria 2012-09-09 20:54

Thanks for all the amazing comments everyone! We're discussing on what path we're going to take for continueing (is that even a word?) this project, but there's definitely going to be a follow-up.
Short-term this means fixing up some of the levels, like the one you got stuck on Cataclysmic (I hate that level, you have to get up there in 1 go, damn stairs are difficult to climb), some minor bug fixes (choose if you want to mute on start, better laptop control support, minor bugfixes).

Long term this will probably mean refining the controls a bit more (although I personally love the way it currently works, but we'll see), building more levels (we're aiming for 64) and adding more block types. I love block types.

Thanks again everyone for playing!

aceria 2012-09-09 20:55

Also, if you're wondering how we created the levels, we did a little talk about this here:
http://www.nisute.com/2012/09/06/go-back-post-mortem/
tl;dr of that: created an importer in Unity to quickly iterate through levels that were created in Maya.

yettatore 2012-09-10 21:03

Excelent game!!!
The concept is great! The level design is balanced! The graphics are lovely! The music fits perfectly! The audio is pretty good! And, IS INNOVATIVE AND FUNNY!!!
Really a fucking complete game!

spaceoff 2012-09-14 11:04

Very fun and well made. Music and graphical style both work, and feel polished for the time. The ending however, was an obvious attempt to make up for the lack of relevance to the theme.

Overall, excellent.

conflictivelabs 2012-09-16 04:42

Quite polished game. Loved graphics and music and the level design is brilliant! Sadly the theme was completely absent. It's overall an amazing game though!

pardue 2012-09-17 12:53

Well done game, feels complete. I liked the concept and the graphics.

ointment 2012-09-17 13:58

I couldn't figure out a link to evolution, but it's a neat physics toy with sleek production. Could do well on mobile platforms.

garethjenkins 2012-09-17 21:18

Controls were infuriating at first... but quickly turned into a curiosity and then almost a pleasure ;)
