I like the story! It makes the gameplay that much more rewarding. Good job!

I dig it. Great story and gameplay.

Bugs:
Great story. I wish there was more. Awesome physics for the slingshot. I also like how climbing up the rounded corners feels. The end is kinda anti-climactic.

if you go backwards at the start (with boots), the game crashes.
if you try really hard to walk through a door you can get stuck in it.

Thanks for the comments - glad people are enjoying it!

@rgbDreamer: the game didn't even have an ending until ~15mins before the submission deadline :-) Such is life in 48hr game making...

Nice graphics and gameplay. The story was simple and perfectly sized. It was a fun! Only complaint was the annoying jump sounds, but at least you had sound at all.

Fun concept, but a bit simple. Also, sadly the ending is underwhelming. I hoped for the father to congratulate you or something to wrap it up. But that's only minor. Still, nice game!

Very nice. Solid game and nice presentation. I too would've loved to see a bit more ending, but nevertheless good game!

Ah the classic parable of the four siblings!

Four siblings set out to compete in the Ludum Dare! The youngest was told she 'lacked the skillz to pay the billz' so was forced to work her part-time job at a local manga/maid cafe instead of enter. (sad trumpet)

Well the first sibling tried to make an RTS, and crashed and burned when he realized it usually takes 48 *months* to create proper orthogonal units, so he gave his dev rig to the youngest.

The second sibling spent so much time creating the most gorgeous and beautiful artwork that by the time the deadline rolled around... that was all she had. She gave her tablet and stylus to the youngest.

The third sibling had his stuff locked down tight, but ended up drinking way too much the night of the competition and woke up with a hangover the evening it was due, slapped together a 'joke entry', then promise that NEXT LD HE WOULD REIGN. He left his Internet connection to the youngest.

So, now armed with all the tools she needed to make a killer game, the youngest braved the terrors of the Ludum Dare. She kept it simple, she kept it cute, and she kept it (reasonably) bug free.

Submitting her awesome game with just moments to spare, she revelled in bliss as the positive comments avalanched in and she became a super famous indie developer, eventually hiring her brothers and sister and forming the best independent game studio ever.

THE END.

P.S. Your game was awesome.

Well done! I like the look and feel of it, and the characters. It just needs some more ending/difficulty (the tasks seemed to get easier, rather than harder!) and you've got a cool little game here.

I really liked the sky background, and the story was well done. I just wish it was longer. Nice job!

Really liked the graphics style and the gameplay mechanics. Too bad the bame was this short..

The exclamation point looked too much like a question mark. It was very pretty. The story was nice, the game was fun (although not too original), but there were some problems. The first time I played I got stuck in the door next to the brother who broke his legs. Also, you shouldn't tell the player the boots make him "jump higher" when in fact they give you a double jump. It made me jump against the wall for 5 minutes like a confused idiot. After getting the crown, I went back through the room where the slingshot brother was and the game crashed.

Overall it was fun, but way too short. This was to be expected of course, with the time constraints and all. Very nice work!

I like the textured sky.

There was a graphics glitch where blue horizontal lines (sky?) between some of the tiles.

I got stuck in the door by the slingshot brother, which was annoying :/ Apart from that, it was a nice experience.

Nice little adventure. I love the background (although I know it's probably a photoshop-filter)

Also, the there's a little bug. After you exit the last vines to the right side, the climb-texture will still be displayed.

Great stuff, really enjoyed it! Only wished for a bit more of an ending, but given the time constraint that's understandable...
