Heh, more games need throwable chainsaws
Cute game, quite enjoyable. I like that the story is based around the infinite ammo bag, which is never really explained in the context of games. Truly that must be the most magic item of all! =)
Pretty cool game, very simple and fun.
Reminds me of PhobiaII
Always in for some Smash TV-a-likes.
Wishing for more weapon upgrades (I only ever got the axe?), but the foundation here is solid. Also allow for some pause time to show the player the final score, mine always passed by because I was mashing fire.
Good work!
Solid little game. Nice idea with the infinite ammo bag. Can't have enough of those! I never got anything but the axe as powerup?
Hello everyone!
The only weapons are the stone, the axe, and the chainsaw. To get the chainsaw, you need to be holding the stone (with a full bar), and then to collect 2 powerups in rapid succession.
I didn't have a lot of time to experiment with this weapon cooldown system, but it works. Now that I think of it, I could implement a second powerup that doesn't cool down (like the first few powerups). But this game is finished, perhaps I'll use the idea in a new game.
Thanks for all the comments!
I wish you could use the mouse for aiming, but that might make things a bit easy. Nice game though.
chainsaaaaws
that's a nice mechanic. But unfortunately it's very hard, and since you can only shoot where you are going somehwat frustrating.
Very fun game, loved the infinite bag idea :D
Simple, but nice - well done!
My first idea for this LD was to make a Gauntlet tribute (had to abort due to lack of art skills), throwing axes at ghosts reminded me of that :P...
I like the way that the powerups encourage the player to move round the screen, instead of standing in the middle and shooting diagonally. The graphics are quite pretty. The gameplay could do with a little more variation, though.
Oh, I also found that I would be mashing fire and skip past the game over screen unintentionally. A simple time delay would work wonders.
