The ship felt a little slow. I didn't manage to kill all of the enemies because I couldn't move fast enough to kill them as they went down the screen. Apart from that, it was a very polished game. Very retro.

only mac and web for me sorry :(

I had fun playing.. got to the boss and had him cracked and then died.. Maybe ill try again later to kill him... so.. very close.. The text reminded me of the start of star wars. Was that your plan?

Movement was a touch slow but lots of things to dodge and I liked how the items you picked up were embedded in the text.

Got bored after a while though - does it actually end? Could do with a bit more variety in terms of powerups and enemies.

Also liked how asteroids could destroy enemies as well as your own ship. :)

Innovation: I've never seen a space shmup with ammo as a concern, so that's new to me. Points to innovation for that.

Fun: Got boring after a while, doesn't seem to get any more interesting after a point. Previous commenter mentions a boss, but I never got there I guess.

Theme: Kinda forced in there. It's a space shooter, but occasionally a mysterious narrator power gives you stuff?

Graphics: Not beautiful, but elegant in a way. Functional.

Audio: None that I remember. N/A.

Humor: None that I remember. N/A.

Overall: Decent fun for a short while.

Community: Ooph, nothing. 1/5 for an empty journal. Next LD, participate in the community while you make the game! It'll pay off, even without a community rating.

Lots of powerups and enemies. Graphics are OK, and controls a little sluggish, but overall good job!

A lot of thought went into this.

Decent progression and a fairly solid platform for further development.

I'd make the enemy bullets indestructible though, that would immediately make it more challenging.

Good work!

I actually tried it with indestructible bullets, but found it got very annoying very quickly, since you essentially had an unavoidable bullet wall at points. Still, thank you all for playing my game! :D

This is an interesting take on the theme. I like the way the narrator gives you stuff. I like the simplistic graphics.

Nice little top down shooter. A bit too long for me personally.

sonnybone 2011-05-12 17:44

Not very innovative, of course... but it's still solid. It could use some extra powerups and enemies that actually provide a challenge. I did dig the little star constellations in deep space, though!

mwest 2011-05-14 18:28

Nicely done, obviously not very innovative (then again my long-term game project I'm working on is also a vertical shooter), but I kinda enjoyed it! Keep up the good work!

I liked the idea of adding weapons to your ship and then losing them when they run out of ammo.

The game seemed to get easier as it progressed, which made it a bit boring. I stopped playing after a couple of minutes but felt like I could have kept going forever.

hempuli 2011-05-23 09:21

Interesting idea, but as others have said, not all too innovative. Fun for a moment.
