Not sure using stock photos is allowed in the compo, that is, unless you took all those pictures in the last 48h :-)
Anyway, the invisible insta-kill boundaries get pretty frustrating very fast...

I won!

hcs 2010-12-20 20:30

Yes, I took all the photos the morning of the 19th.
Sorry about the difficulty, I was completely at a loss for fitting this theme and this was what occurred to me Sunday morning.

Fun to play, but it wasn't clear to me why some jumps resulted in death and others didn't.

thristhart 2010-12-21 02:16

Completely trial and error, which wasn't as amusing as it had sounded.

hcs 2010-12-21 03:19

It is not entirely random, however it is set up so that you are misled into death. Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to design a level where you could actually take advantage of this knowledge in other situations.

I apologize for intentionally breaking a lot of good design rules.

Way too unforgiving and random. But I do like the collage style.

kurtwaldowski 2010-12-22 06:32

I did play for quite a bit; until I decided that it wasn't me messing up! Ha ha :P. The game was pretty fun, I just couldn't get why sometimes I died and why other times I didn't.

endurion 2010-12-22 08:52

The collage is a neat idea.
The controls however completely kill the game for me. The line between too slow and too fast is too small. Also, I don't know how to get to the three coins on the start bottom right. I always die trying to go there.

jagttt 2010-12-26 06:03

The control is quite weird at first but when you know how it works it gets a lot of fun. Also like the photos very much.

philomory 2010-12-26 08:59

Okay... I gather from other comments and from the screenshot that there are supposed to be images? For me the only things visible were the player and the coins, which makes an apparently already hard game very nearly impossible. Only absolute trial and error could even tell me where the floor was. Windows package version, by the way.

henry_v 2010-12-26 20:19

Well I didn't quite get the point of the game... Also didn't help that I couldn't see the floor at all. Liked the "win" button though. :) I think the music was good and it was the strongest part of this game.

niallm 2011-01-04 17:11

Loved the music and the platforms/background, though it's a shame the player and the coins weren't photographs too. I found the game quite fun - it wasn't hugely different from the process of learning a difficult level in a typical platformer, and the rolling inertia gave the whole thing an extra edge.
