| Oct 19 13:01:47 | What is this? | ♥ 1 | This is super pretty and I love the animation especially (idle one is so fluid, and when she disappears under the floor after using up all the moves). The design and colour palette are masterful, it's such a pleasure to look at! However, I felt confused right in the beginning; I've tried bringing everything and checking if items can combine, but nothing seemed to work :( Maybe some hints would be helpful (you can put them into description, not game itself), some more explanation on the gameplay/concept, and I would love to give it another try then! | |
| Oct 19 13:31:45 | 29m 58s | The Base for Old Creations | ♥ 1 | I couldn't figure out how to progress, went all over the room pressing E on everything, sat down several times, tried to "drag" the screen or the chair with my mouse, jump out the window, rotate the tab in the computer in a spiral all over the monitor to summon something (xD) and change its size in different ways or go lie on by very comfortable looking bed... Couldn't find the way to unlock summoning. However, I wanted to mention that I really liked some small detailes you put in. Like the time piece shows current time from my computer, and the date (save the year ofc) is the same. Also, it says "logged in as Xiaomi" and that's my laptop's brand so that's probably me :D Also, the atmosphere feels great. Makes me want to explore this world and find out more. I read the forums, the entries are funny :) So the game is not scary but has a nice unsettling note to it thanks to the audio and the scenery. The mountains look gorgeous, I really wish I wasn't encarcerated in this room xD And the theme of Old Tech is interpreted in an interesting way, using anachronistic approach. I still have it downloaded so if you give me a hint maybe I could play a bit more! |
| Oct 20 09:24:49 | 19h 53m | Super Pong 2000 | ♥ 1 | First of all, this is DIABOLICAL: diabolical.png Secondly, this is the best I could do so far: score.png I am keeping the files on my laptop in case I want to revisit and try again for a better score! I think I gave it almost 10 tries for sure, and I have to say luck is a big factor in how well the run goes. My best score is from the 3rd try. It seems that downgrade options are chosen at random, so that's a big factor. Sometimes I got the DIABOLICAL choice right in the beginning :') And some "downgrades" are definitely less punishing than the others. I really enjoyed the game overall!! It feels nostalgic (definitely played something like that as a kid on PC) and super polished (like a complete released game), with cool visuals and sounds; it is also addicting (the competitive spark in me wants to get a higher score, so that also motivates more tries, but it's also just fun); and the concept of downgrades I maybe have seen before, but it still feels fresh and original :) And in my opinion it is still enjoyable, and it could be hard to balance, but you definitely achieved a golden middle (I don't remember the saying in English well... happy medium? xD) If I try again and get at least 76 I will be sure to let you know >:) |
| Oct 20 10:28:14 | 1h 03m | SnakeSketch | ♥ 1 | The hardest part is J L as down/up (and especially since in my head J should make me go UP so I messed that up all the time)! xD That is surely diabolical. I assume it was done to make the game harder, but... DIABOLICAL! I see how it's a "sketch" game because unlike the usual Snake, we go slow and almost "draw" our snake pixel by pixel on the screen, so it's a different kind of strategy, which is quite interesting! I think it's impressive you managed to make a game in such limited time frame, so I don't have many complaints, but I would say it would be great if the snake could draw a little bit faster. You definitely need a lot of patience and a cup of tea to slowly go through this game :) Maybe there's some pause in between also? As it feels like sometimes I press the button but nothing happens; almost like there's a little cooldown of sorts? UPD: I tried pressing down on the button and it actually started drawing continously, omg!! I realized that only when I already got my first 10 points T_T I like the effect when "resetting" the level, the white noise-like one. I like the detail of the knobs turning when we are "engaging" them. Actually looking at that makes me realise it could be another reason for J L choice. As it's located in regards to A D like the right knob is located in regards to the left one (that was a convoluted sentence, sorry) Also, I think the most fun way to play this game would be to try and make a drawing! :) bird.png A bird-like creature when playing as intended. I wanted to finish the beak but I went too close to the line, didn't realize it would be a crash xD heart.png Just an attempt to draw a heart xD It was fun (after I figured how to draw continuosly lol)! ^v^ |
| Oct 20 15:58:26 | 5h 30m | Deep Dive | ♥ 1 | That dog really likes to eat! :) I love the idea with the deep diving. I think this is an enchanting world (under the sea) and have made one game on the topic myself, when we had a "Limited Space" theme. Of course it was very different (more of a text adventure). I am just trying to say I really love the atmosphere of deep diving! I also want to mention that I loved the music, it was so beautiful! Relaxing, but still pulsing with energy (to be honest, I am very picky with the music and get tired quickly of many tracks in the jams, but some are very good and this one I can listen to for very long!) The visuals are, of course, very pretty as usual! I love seeing your animal-like creatures every time, it feels familiar and comforting now :) These ones are new to me, but they are also neat - I especially like the black cat design, but the dog is sure funny! x3 I wanted to mention, along with the visuals, that I really enjoyed how the "Mission complete" screen looks - it's so festive! ^v^/ Your entries are always super polished... And this one as well! But it also has so much in it, the system is thought through and detailed, it's so interesting! You put a LOT of work into this and it really feels like a complete game +_+ And there is a story, too! * And because being an editor is part of my profession, I can't help but point out a few typos: This word, exciting, lost its' "c" a few times :) typo2.png typo3.png And in the very beginning, at lost its' t: typo1.png * Back to the game - thankfully, it wasn't too hard, so I completed the missions comfortably and enjoyed the card system overall :) Then these (I am sorry) IDIOTS say "hey this crystal must be powering this place, LeT's TaKe It!" And after they did THAT, my screen shook and my game crashed xD I kinda even thought that's the intention so didn't think to screenshot the error 3_3 OK on my second playthrough nothing crashed! So I guess it was not intended... I like how we reverse the cards we need for the 6th level, playing on ascend and balancing morale, that was very fun! I like how the game is not difficult, but that level was exciting actually, though also not too hard, it took me 3 tries (also I think luck is def a factor here! as it seems to be random which cards from your deck you get each turn; on my 3rd try I actually completed the ascend in just 1 turn!) But they are still potatoes cause the crystal isn't working anymore!! I am curious if you thought this world through more and you know more lore behind the crystal and that structure? :) Also, I did notice little elephants on their uniforms! A nod to the coveted Elephant in the Room theme? :) Overall, I like your take on the theme, with the diving and also the old technology being uncovered +_+ It was super fun!! I enjoyed the card system, the music, and I would play more of this ^v^ |
| Oct 20 17:06:12 | 1h 07m | Switchboard Operator | ♥ 1 | Thank you for the mention, it's very sweet ^v^ I am glad you finished your entry and now we can play it! :) /// Ok, I did spend quite a bit of time on it! :) At first I felt a bit confused and went into a huge debt, so I reset a few times to figure out the details. Then, as I realized I have to connect AND wait for a bit (oops), it went quite smoothly! I didn't rush at all, and managed to complete a lot of tickets still and not go into debt at all :) operator.png In the end, I had to stop myself from playing simply because I have to work and play other games as well; it ended up being quite addictive and actually meditative! So I was right - it is meditative after all! xD I really like just the process of connecting and disconnecting these plugs. It does feel satisfying! I thought maybe a little sound while connecting would be nice, though I don't know if it will clutter the overall audio background as we also have sounds for the orders arriving, being complete or failed. Also, it is a bit hard to tell some letters apart (especially B and E). I feel like quite a bit of my failed orders were failed for that reason ^^' Overall, I think it turned out great! Actually feels polished and complete, in my opinion, and quite relaxing despite the timer! I am glad you published it after all :) |
| Oct 20 17:53:27 | 47m 15s | Penny Farthing Race | ♥ 2 | Hehe, that was really fun! I absolutely love the atmosphere, the setting is perfect, and the insults are great! AbSoLuTe DoNkEy I heard this one the most but there was def at least 1 other one (with the teapot xD) But I loved soooo much how the absolute donkey is pronounced!! xD I did my best to beat those Sirs in each race, and though the Final had seen me defeated a few times, in the end I came out on top >:) race1.png Though I came 2nd in the 2nd race (I think, or 3rd) and didn't replay it, the menu still shows my name in there (so ig it only shows the records of the Players, not NPCs) race2.png Which is convenient. For me. Look how I dominated! xD Overall, I had a great time with this game, it was fun, felt polished, flew by enjoyably, wasn't too difficult but not TOO easy (imo), the sound design and the atmosphere are great! I love the way the theme was represented, and the "gifts" are well thought through, keeping with the setting and also funny! I did notice Sir Elephant as well :) It seems like a good bit of devs are adding a nod to the "elephant in the room", makes me feel a bit sad I didn't do that xD Also, I wanted to mention that I would love to use WASD control type, but since I am the only player, I automatically get the Player 1 controls. Maybe there is a way to choose and I missed it? But if there isn't, it would be a good QOL addition. But ofc, overall, it's super polished and feels great and complete! |
| Oct 20 19:44:59 | 1h 51m | (C)old Calls | ♥ 1 | I'll be honest, I didn't understand at all what am I supposed to be striving for when dialing a number, but I did go through a few levels before failing xD rotary.png I wish I could restart a level... Is it possible? Or will I need to replay from the start? I tried clicking everywhere and everything (Continue is not working here) but it keeps me on my failure screen :') The amount of digits in a phone number is very interesting to me! There is so many! 1 more than mobile numbers nowadays... and way more than numbers we used to have back when we used rotary phones! :) I still remember bright-red rotary phone we had. I liked playing with it xD I was very small back then. I thought it was very fun dialing the numbers on it! So I understood the mechanic in the game quickly (on how to dial) and it felt nostalgic and enjoyable. Maybe I need to try and get higher numbers? But I only have a specific set of them and end up using them all anyway. Maybe I could try playing again if you give me a hint x) I am not even sure what some of the things are for (click threshold?..) But I did manage to complete a few levels so I can at least write something about the game! xD I like the concept, the music you chose, very calming, and the process of dialing the numbers itself; I think the cards are interesting and I like how they look and the characters on them (not sure if I used them correctly or chose them wisely but oh well xD); and the visuals overall are pretty as always, I especially like the cigarette thingy! xD |
| Oct 20 19:52:27 | 7m 28s | Nimkip and the Quest to Build an Airship | ♥ 2 | Hello! Do you think it would be possible to compile a downloadable version (for Windows)? The web version doesn't load for me unfortunately ;_; I tried with VPN and without VPN and I am not sure what the issue is. It would be great if I could just download the game and play it ^v^ P.S. I specifically voted for the theme Rain during the Theme Voting in hopes of getting a continuation of the Rain Saga... Damn it! xD |
| Oct 23 18:48:42 | 70h 56m | Raytracer | ♥ 1 | Wow, this was so fun!! Really perfect for the theme, too. And, I think, a very inventive concept! Executed well, for sure :) I liked the sound design as well, voice acting felt fitting, and little sounds were perfect; it kinda came out having this meditative feeling to it :) The colours are super pretty, and the gradual addition of combinations was perfect. And, most importantly, the freeform mode is a splendid idea!! I will admit I was not super good at this game but I tried my best xD canvas.png I really liked the little pictures in the levels themselves, very cute :3 Though I am not sure what the yellow tower with (was it blue?) eye represented xD I am not 100% certain about the last level as well, maybe these are boats in the sea near those orange/red thingies that usually float in the sea marking the uhm length/depth/etc I don't know xD And then ofc I tried drawing myself, I really liked the introduction of different vibrancy! Though the fact I can't pause and think but have to draw continously made it pretty hard... ^^' I have to present my poorly drawn masterpieces though! This is... I dunno... A pyramid? (I wanted to draw a sun and then it kinda kept stretching?? I guess I thought I had a longer canvas somehow?? XD) And a white bird flying in front? KANITY_canvas (1).png And this is... ehhh... an entrance to a Water Temple?:D KANITY_canvas (2).png Really inventive and fun, I enjoyed your game a lot! ^v^ |
| Oct 25 22:14:40 | 51h 25m | OadText | ♥ 0 | Wow, this definitely felt unique! Sitting in the dark, at 1 am, with just a little lamplight, I really felt like I was transferred into this alternate world where I am chilling in front of an old magical TV that shows text channels! :D The connection with my phone worked flawlessly, and the sound of clicking between channels was super satisfying (I got new sounds in the end... it was fun but I soon missed the original ones xD they really do feel good), and it felt cool doing so on my phone. Like how did you do that?? I can't even begin to comprehend!! To me it is magical x) I clicked through the first 500 channels using P+ so I appreciate you put a little smiley in one of the "empty" ones. But after that I put in channel 800 to get to the ads xD Also, I need this game now: wantthisgame.png I did enjoy the little games at the 300+ channels, completed them both. It was a welcome splash of colour and they were engaging and simple enough for me to have fun and not get stuck :) (Though I couldn't get really STUCK, I could just continue on with the channels, I realise that x)) The secret old tech of pyramid building was funny! xD And yeah building the pyramid felt well executed, it made sense to me when to drop the bricks, felt natural. Quite a hypnotic experience overall, I think what you did here really is amazing!! |
