Oct 7 19:38:27 Planet Saver ♥ 2 Cute game ! It was satisfying to scrap the cubes and to find all the collectables. Good job !
Oct 9 13:08:39 41h 30m Coal Lector ♥ 4 heat.png **I hate being cold ! ๐Ÿ˜†** *It's ok I just got a bug, where picking coal wasn't making it disppearing, so I was just able infinite grab it. There is also some clipping with the heat zone with the camera once it's too big (around 10 coals I would say ?)* Aside from these small (and funny) bugs, wow great game ! I think it has great potential, I would absolutely see this as a small horror game where digging deeper into the world would uncover some dark secrets, with this ambiance and art style, I'm sure that it would be a great experience. Great work !
Oct 11 14:05:16 48h 56m R.A.T ♥ 2 Such a cute small game ! I like how polished it is (the rat animation is soo smooth). The stamina bar was pleasing, I feel like you took Peak as inspiration, is that right ? The fact that you can take corpses from previous runs is a really cool detail that back up the lore. The randomly generated levels are working fine, I often end in dead ends but actually that what I would expect from wandering around caves looking for food so that fine by me. The downsides that I could find was: 1) 5 minutes for a level is a bit too much, I collected every food in the level (at least I think so ?) but I had to wait for the timer to end, even if I reached the food quota. 2) It wasn't clear at first that we can aim with the mouse (as I played with keyboard only), so at first I was wondering why the trajectory felt weird Overall, nice job !
Oct 11 14:05:55 39s Grand Collector ♥ 2 That was fun, the storyline was straightforward but it make it satisfying to just run around, collect everything and unlock new zones. Actually we started by looting everything so once we started the quests, we unlocked everything immediately ! Maybe it would have been nice to lock away more ressources, so we had to put more efforts into looking for them instead of stacking them ? But anyway I loved the writing and the humor, fun game !
Oct 11 14:06:25 30s Unholy Black Hole ♥ 1 The concept and the ambiance is very cool ! I got issues too with the demons walking next to humans without scaring them, it's a bit frustrating, but I get that it's quite complex AI to setup correctly in so little time. So good work !
Oct 11 14:07:07 42s Mid-Sized Monsters ♥ 2 Wow, very fun and nice looking game ! I was too optimistic at first, and my MidMons where swiped by the plant-like creature. I was more careful after that and it went better. I would love to be able to level up them, but I guess that would have been hell to balance so it's fine as it is. Side note: I took a look at your project, found it funny how many of us start our game by naming it "level1", to finally only have time for one level ๐Ÿ˜† Very nice game, well done !
Oct 11 14:07:24 17s City Bike ♥ 2 Nice little game, my girlfriend managed to do 848 miles but lost usage of her fingers for the day. But hey, it was worth it !
Oct 11 14:07:48 24s Soulbearer ♥ 1 Loved this game ! I collected 21 souls before wanting to see the death animation. The first mommy scared me out as I was wandering in the dark for several minutes. The lantern movement was satisfying, have you by any chance took example on the Amnesia lantern ? It reminded a lot that ! Anyway great job !
Oct 11 14:08:18 30s Room of Eko: serial evaluation records of โ–กโ–กโ–กโ–ก ♥ 1 I spent quite some time exploring the options and trying to untie this game. I guess I'm quite bad to it ahaha, I haven't discovered much, but I find this captivating. We want to discover more about it, but at the same time the girl is acting eerie, making it stressful. It's a very original entry, well done !
Oct 11 14:09:03 45s Gamedud ♥ 2 A very clever take on the theme. It's a bit meta too as before starting, everyone is wondering about which kind of game they're going to make, and you just did 4 of them ๐Ÿ˜† The ending twist is very nice too, it made me play it one more time for fun ! If I make one slight addition, it would be to be able to move with D-pad on controller, to be able to fully control it as a Gameboy game. Anyway great idea and good job !
Oct 11 14:10:02 59s Seven-Day Bargain ♥ 2 Fun game ! I think I tried to like 10 times but I didn't succeed ๐Ÿ˜ข. I had two runs where I just rush all the days but lost on the 7th. Anyway very good game, I like the ambiance and everything feel so polished. I'm not sure of what the coffee option do but it seems that everything was going better with it, but maybe a placebo effect ๐Ÿ˜† Anyway, very good game, looks to me as a solid candidate for the top !
Oct 11 17:23:45 3h 13m Fume: The PC Gaming Simulator ♥ 1 Very clever use of the theme, and the amount of effort put in the parodies is impressive; images, names, descriptions, editors names ! My guess is that fever certainly gave you a hard time but gave you inspiration for all this ๐Ÿ˜† So anyway good job !
Oct 11 17:45:47 22m 02s Trivia Hart in "The Case of the Porcelain Tricorn" ♥ 2 I think it's one of the most complete compo game I've ever played, it's truly impressive. Nothing more to say, obviously as a non-english speaker subtitles would have been a plus, but the voiceover make up for it and I get that adding subtitles would have been an extra layer of things to manage while you already managed to put up so much content. Congratulations and awesome work !
Oct 11 19:20:36 1h 34m Clean That Garbage! ♥ 2 Nice little tower defense-like game ! Indeed it was a bit difficult but nothing crazy, so that's fine. I saw that you next time you will try to put more time in balancing, and I know that's it can be hard to make that fit in 48h If that can help, next time you may put several difficulties and let people chose what they prefer; Hard: being the difficulty that seems fine for you (knowing that you played a lot so you're good !) Easy: an accessible balance for people who aren't good at this kind of game (or playing with a trackpad for exemple) Normal: Somewhere in-between That way you don't have to balance everything, and everyone's happy (you may even add replayability !) But I get that sometimes you just want to tailor a specific experience for everyone. Anyway a clever concept and I love all the littles details related the the programming world. Good job !
Oct 11 19:29:56 9m 20s Black Hollector ♥ 2 Funny little game ! I was skeptical at first when I saw the start button and the blur on the black hole ๐Ÿ˜… But once I started playing, I think it fit well the childish mood, with the noises, the space, and the calming music. The gameplay is very simple but you managed to put it in several forms so it never felt repetitive. Good job ! :)
Oct 13 07:08:15 35h 38m Tarnos Quest ♥ 1 Hi! I was impressed while playing this! However, after reading the description, I see that you mention using music from Dorian Concept and textures from Stride. Regarding the music, I noticed that you opted out of the "Audio" category, yet you still have "Mood" ratings, and music plays a key role in setting the atmosphere... (Opting out of a rating when using an asset pack is more a common practice in Jam, so that people don't try to review something made by someone else.) The same goes for textures: they're a big part of the game, and color-editing an asset cannot be considered self-made. (Obviously, I know you're totally capable of creating great graphics, the body parts and NPCs look good!) The compo rules state that you must create all assets yourself in 48 hours. If that's not possible, that's fine, but it must be entered as a Jam game. I actually think participating in the Jam would be even better. The assets fit perfectly and you'd have more time to polish your game, even maybe add a few more features ! It looks like an ambitious but interesting project, it definitely deserve it. I won't rate it as I'm puzzled by this, but I would love to see more complete version of your game for sure !
Oct 13 15:26:47 8h 18m Tax Collector ♥ 2 Got 16 ! The game looks very simple but there is actually so much mechanics that it become quickly complex, I've played it several times in order to get a good understanding of everything. There is so much things happening at once, the only way to make it though is to be hard focused, and the minute pass in a blink of an eye ! So good job for this very fun game !
Oct 14 09:51:43 18h 24m Banchy ♥ 3 Nice little game! I see that it's your first entry, here are a few tips: - Add some pictures to your submission page to make it more attractive. - If your game is meant for the classic 16:9 format, set up your itch.io page to ensure that this aspect ratio is applied by default. I initially thought that the HUD looked strange, but then I tried full-screen mode and saw that this fixed the issue. - Round up values like time, as having decimals makes things unclear. I see that you took the campfire sound from Freesound (looks like this one? https://freesound.org/people/newlocknew/sounds/636708/). Actually, assets for compo games need to be created within the 24 hours and by you only. Given this, I won't rate the audio, but you should at least opt out of the audio category and credit the author. Otherwise, it's a good entry: the graphics are clean, and the gameplay idea fits the theme well. I like the fact that you added a bit of a storyline and that the game feels responsive. The biggest drawback is the lack of feedback. There's something missing when you hit enemies or get hit. Initially, I wasn't sure if I could kill things and I didn't see when I was hit. Anything like a visual effect, sound or particles would greatly improve the experience. Anyway, good work! I can't wait to see what you'll make next time!
Oct 14 12:33:56 2h 42m Trip to the Teeth ♥ 1 I liked this game, obviously unfinished, but still nice to play. Haven't found a child but still stole bear's teeth, so I guess it's fine (a tooth is a tooth right ?) Music not playing in-game but went back at the menu to enjoy it afterwards (nice little tune by the way !) Wolves not really dangerous but their aggressiveness make up for it, ran for my life anyway ๐Ÿ˜† Good job ! And don't hesitate to quote us if you make a post-jam version, I would love to play it !
Oct 15 07:31:23 18h 57m Collecthrow ♥ 2 Ahah what a mess, it was frustrating at first but once I got hang of it became kinda fun ! I think that one small addition making it more pleasant to play would be adding jumps (to evade or to go over some obstacles) but I get that would have added an extra level of complexity. Good job anyway, I you expand it multiplayer and spacialised chat it would be a fun evening game with friends !
Oct 15 07:48:31 17m 08s Stamp Collector ♥ 2 Wow, I'm glad I found this one! Like the others, I think it would be a great cozy game with more sound effects. The only part that was frustrating for me is the "cutting stamp" part. I think I would like to follow the dotted line and validate the cut dot by dot, so I can have a clean, satisfying result (and it would be easier for trackpads). However I acknowledge the effort to make the stamp pop out precisely where I cut it, and maybe most people like it that way ? Maybe I'm just too much of a perfectionist ? (That may be it actually ๐Ÿ˜†) Oh, and I saw that you mostly made this (and your other compo games) without using your hands. It's impressive! It would be great if you could write a blog post about your workflow and the tools you use. It would be interesting! Anyway, great work!
Oct 15 07:55:25 6m 54s The Gem Hoarder ♥ 2 Nice game ! I love this kind of games where you can get "in the zone" once you get hang of it. I would indeed have loved some feedback on the time elapsing, as I lost several times without noticing that a cart was here for long (oupsies !) I think that a good quick win would be that when you grab something it would scale it up, darken it or anything to make it more pleasing to pick up items as it's the main part of the game. Good job !
Oct 15 08:00:38 5m 13s Marbles' Counter ♥ 2 Nice little game. It's simple, but the concept is effective, and it fits the theme well. The sounds are satisfying, so it sits somewhere between relaxing and stressful ๐Ÿ˜† Good job!
Oct 15 08:16:24 15m 46s Underwater Salvage ♥ 2 *Played to find that the real treasure was the friends made along the way, but got some bulky gold instead...* Very fun and short game ! It needed focus but wasn't really hard so it was very pleasing to play. The rope physic is a nice addition and looks so good ! I got surprised when I fully upgraded my speed and saw that the items weren't attracted that much, maybe it would have been a great extra upgrade slot, to improve the magnet strength ? Good entry, good job !
Oct 15 11:53:45 3h 37m Relic Seekers ♥ 2 Great game ! It reminded me of Frictional Games's work, which I appreciate a lot. A bit too hard in my opinion, maybe at least make death keep some progress ? Thought I liked how there where different dangers that I had to understand in order to keep going. Good work !
Oct 15 15:04:24 3h 10m Stellar Salvage ♥ 3 Pretty little arcade game ! The graphics are simple, but the attention to detail in the particles and lighting makes it feel very polished. I have a bit of a problem with the movement; it feels very responsive at the same time (turning around, accelerating, shooting and even restarting are instant and very satisfying). However, it's really hard to manoeuver the ship. I went out of bounds many times and got the same feeling I got with classic Sonic games; I want to go really fast, I can, but if I do, I'll die in a few seconds. I think boosting the acceleration, add an S key to go back and reducing the maximum speed would do the trick. (I would even suggest adding natural deceleration, however I understand that you want to maintain the "space feeling", where momentum just stays the same, and it would break it) Anyway good little game, well done ! ๐Ÿ˜„
