| Apr 16 17:47:59 | Soul Food | ♥ 2 | Lovely game!! Awesome and cute artstyle, mood, and fitting music and theme. Great idea too - to summon demons only to immediately cook them! I get that it's all black and white, but some color could have perhaps helped distinguish the three ingredient demons. Also, having the the summoning reminders so far from recipes made me look back and forth all the time, like a tennis match. Super solid entry overall! | |
| Apr 16 18:03:43 | 15m 44s | Hell's Kitchen | ♥ 0 | Very nice submission! Soul Food (another lD55 game) ended up with a very similar core game mechanic. This one has much more to it, tho. A bit too complex for me, but I like the extra variety in the recipes and art. Good stuff! |
| Apr 16 18:13:07 | 9m 24s | SUMOning - Power through Angel | ♥ 2 | A unique take on the theme, very creative! Strange little game, I'll remember it for sure. |
| Apr 16 18:23:17 | 10m 10s | Summoning Bumper | ♥ 3 | As others have said - tricky physics, or maybe the puzzles are just too hard to start with. The summoned birdie reminds me of Beat from Megaman, was it the inspiration for Bumper? Awesome music as well! |
| Apr 16 18:42:53 | 19m 36s | Creature Conjurers | ♥ 1 | Great presentation, music, art, and mood! And the three-eyed cat is so cute!! |
| Apr 16 19:07:15 | 24m 22s | Matthew, Emissary of Balance | ♥ 3 | Very nice little game! The resources seemed to cap at 260, though, so I couldn't summon a dragon. Very satisfying core game loop! |
| Apr 16 19:16:10 | 8m 55s | Heartless Forever | ♥ 1 | So many monsters, so many power-ups - in so many places! Fun core gameplay, great art and music, just a shame the background is so sparse in contrast. Feels like you tried to accomplish too much and simply ran out of time. Great submission overall, tho! |
| Apr 16 19:29:53 | 13m 43s | Piggy Harvest | ♥ 1 | took a bit to understand what was going on, but once I got it, it became fun! Without a tutorial, you could add more details on how to play the game in the description. |
| Apr 16 19:48:44 | 18m 51s | Summoning for Dummies | ♥ 3 | Absolutely fantastic submission!! The animations are awesome, and the addition of the tutorial helps a lot! It's very polished, fun, cute, and full of character. |
| Apr 17 06:19:12 | 10h 30m | Tao | ♥ 2 | Fantastic submission! Very polished and satisfying to play, congrats!! Special props to the pixel artist. |
| Apr 17 06:32:34 | 13m 22s | Blood Rite | ♥ 3 | Very atmospheric! Fun little submission, wish there was more to it, like some bigger boss enemies, but still very solid. Interesting choice to go monochromatic, I think it works here. |
| Apr 17 13:20:29 | 6h 47m | Djimm's Revenge | ♥ 2 | Just a heads up, for you to get more ratings and feedback on your game, you need to rate and give feedback yourself. That's how the algorithm is set up. That said, nice simple gameplay, and I like how it's a djinn and not a demon, unlike the majority of submissions. |
| Apr 17 13:27:19 | 6m 50s | Crystal Defense | ♥ 0 | Couldn't figure out what to do at the start, but managed to get a hang of it by just clicking around. You should definitely tell people the controls at least on your game page, or people will have big problems playing the game. Aside from that, to get more ratings and feedback, you should rate and give feedback to other people's games, Your game will show up on other people's home pages if you do so, that's how the Ludum Dare algorithm is set up. |
| Apr 17 14:03:23 | 36m 04s | Summoner's Dungeon | ♥ 2 | A heads up - to get more ratings and feedback, you should rate and give feedback to other people's games, Your game will show up on other people's home pages if you do so, that's how the Ludum Dare algorithm is set up. |
| Apr 17 14:19:02 | 15m 39s | Siela | ♥ 3 | Great atmosphere, theme and art, but yeah - as others have said - it's pretty empty. Could have added an obstacle to your task, maybe instead of the sprint and jump mechanics. |
| Apr 17 14:37:21 | 18m 19s | Time for Pie! | ♥ 0 | Sadly couldn't play it without a controller :( |
| Apr 17 14:51:19 | 13m 58s | DURO | ♥ 4 | Gotta be honest, I didn't realize I could just walk out of the first room. Maybe I'm just dumb, tho. Took me way too long to understand what I was doing, but when I did, it was a fun game!! Very atmospheric and innovative, and nice puzzles! Maybe you could have started with just one or two wizards available, and unlocked more as you go. |
| Apr 17 15:16:30 | 25m 11s | SAKURA | ♥ 1 | I think the strategy is just to upgrade just one ninja a lot, and put three of that one in your hand? That way you get triple value from each upgrade. Very simple game, but I really like the addition of two difficulty modes and that volume slider - something I haven't seen yet in a LD jam game! |
| Apr 17 15:34:08 | 17m 38s | Summonundrum | ♥ 1 | It weirdly reminds me of old Neo-Geo arcade games: flashy graphics, fast-paced music, addictive gameplay, the high score - and you lose quickly too! I just want to play again and again - here's another quarter! On a side-note, as an artist, I'm thankful that you opted out from the Graphics and Audio rating categories. That actually means a lot <3 |
| Apr 17 15:54:20 | 20m 12s | Oil Creatures | ♥ 1 | The designs of the oil creatures remind me of Tarboy, the old Youtube/Newgrounds cartoon. Great art and overall feel of the game. Very polished. Props to whoever decided on the artstyle, it looks very clean ith the flat coloring. |
| Apr 17 16:25:47 | 31m 27s | Diner Dash | ♥ 1 | Straightforward game, but fun! Extremely chunky pixel art, I was underestimating how chunky it could be lol. Nice minimalist aesthetic, you managed to distill people to an 8x8 tile |
| Apr 17 16:43:51 | 18m 04s | Summoning Sidescroller | ♥ 0 | Played the game and the basic idea is cool! Congrats on your first project. A few things to start with - you should put the controls in the game description (ideally, they should be in-game ofc), or nobody will know how to play or what they can do. And a cover image and screenshots do a lot to make others want to try your game out. I stumbled onto this game completely by accident. Ah, and the way the Ludum Dare algorithm works - the more you rate and give feedback to other games, the higher chance you'll get feedback yourself. |
| Apr 17 17:12:30 | 28m 39s | Jiang Shifu | ♥ 4 | This is the best game I've seen yet in LD 55! I hope it wins it all. Everything - the main mechanic, the aesthetic, the art, music - it's all awesome. The main mechanic specifically is very well thought out, how you aren't allowed to spam it to fly anywhere, but you can control how far you can teleport. Let me just point that the fact that the clap is timed to the music - that is care for detail, folks! If I am forced to nit pick, then the death animation creates jiggly pixels. Aside from that, it's perfect.! Edit: [brag.png](///raw/dcb/71/z/6426f.png) |
| Apr 17 20:15:33 | 3h 03m | Arcane Sorcerer | ♥ 3 | Cool core mechanic, it's fun even in such a small game. The idea of trying to stand still while in a bullet hell is flavorful and creative as well! |
| Apr 18 16:50:22 | 20h 34m | -Phonebook of Dragon-ヤクザ電話帳 | ♥ 1 | Fantastic aesthetic and mood! Fits the theme perfectly as well. It gets a little repetitive by the end, would have been nice to add a curve ball in there somewhere, maybe once you enter a particularly seedy part of town you get bad reception, or maybe you can choose which way to go and fight one of two possible opponents - something to break the loop up a bit. But, of course, there's only so much time available. This is still a great submission!! |
| Apr 18 17:23:24 | 33m 02s | Death kingdom | ♥ 0 | I think you just went too big with your idea and wasn't able to finish it properly. Adding even a little in-game context of what's supposed to happen would help a lot, and some basic sound effects could have made the collecting and building mechanics more enjoyable. I like the low-poli buildings, tho. Good effort |
| Apr 18 17:44:12 | 20m 48s | First Time Summoning | ♥ 0 | Logs were the hardest to come by for me, had to despawn a lot of the rocks and honeycombs to get enough of them. And yes - I was really hoping for a summoning winscreen or something like that. |
| Apr 18 19:04:13 | 1h 20m | Farmageddon | ♥ 1 | Since you can't do more than one thing at a time, there's a lot of waiting around, but the game fits the theme well and does so in a fairly unique way. |
| Apr 18 19:15:04 | 10m 51s | Mole Game | ♥ 0 | Simple game, but it incorporates the theme well. The lack of audio is unfortunate. By the way, in case you don't know, Ludum Dare's algorithm is such that the more you rate and give feedback to other games, the more your game will be recommended to other people and the higher chance you'll get feedback. Just a heads up. |
| Apr 18 19:25:39 | 10m 35s | Ballad of Lead Shroud | ♥ 2 | Great mood and setting that got me interested into the story. Nice way of pacing (no pun intended) the backstory, and I really like the chromatic aberration effect as well, cool touch! |
| Apr 18 19:30:52 | 5m 13s | Qwsssee | ♥ 1 | No game? :( |
| Apr 18 19:35:56 | 5m 04s | summon that star manz | ♥ 2 | I'm speechless. Have I been trolled? either way, I'll remember this submission, lol |
| Apr 18 20:20:08 | 44m 12s | Wizbbit | ♥ 2 | Cute artstyle and music, and fun UI (took me a little bit to realize they were meant to be the Q W E R keys, tho) Also, when you reach 0 health, the game just keeps going. Fun submission! |
