Oct 2 17:13:33 Boo! Bark! ♥ 1 Very cool little game!! The mechanic is really interesting, though I personally think it might work better with mouse controls instead of keyboard? The different types of enemies feel pretty simple but do make the game challenging. Visuals are really cute, and mouth-made sound effects are obviously hilarious and really well made too! Well done!!
Oct 2 17:22:08 8m 35s BedSpace ♥ 1 The concept is really interesting, I'd like to see it explored further. It's unfortunate that the physics tend to bug out and send our body incontrolably tumbling around, especially when trying to move the core. 😅 Still pretty interesting, the graphics are really nice and the music is nice too, though it does feel a bit too mysterious? All in all a nice little game!
Oct 2 18:34:36 1h 12m Snake Snake Boom ♥ 1 Really fun entry, and a cool take on Snake! It does get pretty difficult to use bombs, maybe some sort of time-limited slow-motion when you press the bomb key (and then drop the bomb on release or on time-out) would help. 🤔 It also felt like the speed might be increasing too fast, though obviously you don't want runs to take ages either. Maybe a few difficulty levels that change the starting speed would have been a good compromise! Just a few ideas, honestly the game stands really well on its own, especially for a compo game. The graphics are efficient, and mouth-sounds are hilarious, well done!
Oct 2 18:44:10 9m 34s Walled In! ♥ 1 Realllly cool entry! I had a lot of fun playing this, the music was great and the concept is really effecient and addictive. Just a Pico-8 tip: you can store things like highscores quite easily using cartdata() and dget()/dset(), look it up in the manual, that way the highscore doesn't get lost when restarting the game. 🙂 Anyway, really great job!!
Oct 2 19:28:43 44m 33s Forest Nothing ♥ 2 Hahaha I didn't expect to find a Forest Nothing recreation, though it does fit the theme! 😂 This is pretty cool! The controls feel a bit janky but maybe it's just because I'm so used to having keyboard shortcuts for everything in AoE2. 😄 Still it's very impressive you managed to make this in only 48 hours, well done!
Oct 2 23:20:26 3h 51m Dead Tire ♥ 1 Very cool little scoring game, very juicy! I think it would benefit a lot from having some music added to it, but other than that it's a very solid entry all around! Nice job!
Oct 2 23:36:27 16m 01s Give Me Money ♥ 1 Nice little incremental game, could use a little more content maybe but it's already a solid entry for compo! Well done!
Oct 3 12:22:03 12h 45m windowkill ♥ 2 Very cool take on the theme!! I think all the window operations made the game slow down quite a bit for me, especially later in game when a few different windows are open. Would really like to see a version kindof like Managore did for Windowframe, where the windows are simulated inside the game's actual window set in fullscreen. With the slow down it felt like the game was too easy and I could going as I liked, but then again I don't know whether it's just the slow down or if it's actually a balancing issue. The minimalist graphics work really well and so do the sound effects. The game's concept is very fun. Super solid entry overall, well done!
Oct 3 13:05:05 43m 02s CRATE ARCANUM ♥ 1 Nice little game! Throwing crates around is a fun main mechanic but I found the runs to be quite long, I think that tweaking the game's speed to make both the spawning of the crates and the player's movement and crate dragging faster would go a long way in making the game feel more dynamic and alive. Sometimes it was difficult to tell types of crates apart but other than that the graphics were very nice! A pretty neat entry overall, the concept fits the theme very well!
Oct 3 13:31:20 26m 15s Tiny Tour ♥ 2 Best entry I've played so far! The graphics are perfect, the puzzles were fun and engaging, the ramping up of difficulty was just right. Everything worked great. A nice and tight little experience, love to see it, very well one!!
Oct 3 19:45:17 6h 13m You Are Beach Cop Sign ♥ 1 Nice little game, with an unexpected ending 😄 I didn't really understand why sudenly the game tells me where rulebreakers are midway through the day, it did make things easier but I felt like it undermined the game's point of looking for red pants, puffs of smoke and litterers. Just an idea but it would have been fun if the rules changed during the day as well. 😄 Neat entry!
Oct 4 10:05:30 14h 20m sandtrix ♥ 0 This isn't a jam game sadly, it's a good game but it came out back in June. :/
Oct 6 13:37:35 51h 32m Bad machine prototype ♥ 1 There's an interesting game idea in there. It's a shame you couldn't do more with this during the jam but personally I would love to see this extended in a way that actually uses all 8 bits like 8 different levers. Good job on making and submitting something anyway. :)
Oct 6 13:42:51 5m 16s Memory Keepers ♥ 0 Congrats on making something in only 8 hours, and with a new engine!!
Oct 6 15:46:39 2h 03m Cosmic Caster ♥ 1 Interesting game! My highscore was 319, I felt like the number of enemies was way overwhelming and should have been toned down, maybe until later in game. At the same time I felt like getting hit wasn't doing enough damage and so it seemed the best strategy was just to cast spells and ignore the lasers, which in the end was stressful and felt weird. This is just my opinion to be fair but I think it would work better with only a few enemies at a time but when they hit you it actually hurts. Still a very interesting idea and it's actually pretty impressive how well the letters are recognized. To have managed that and then also build a small game around it seems like a pretty good job overall, why disable ratings? 🙂
Oct 7 22:38:16 30h 51m Pool Frog ♥ 1 Very cool little Pico-8 game! Simple amd efficient! The graphics are very cute and the game feels very juicy! I just wish the game would kill me a little more easily to add more challenge. (maybe bigger collision radius on the koi?) As it is I gave up after reaching 984 points or thereabout. Still, I had fun playing, this is a good entry, well done!
Oct 10 09:13:14 58h 34m Shrinking Universe ♥ 2 Interesting idea and I did give this game a lot of tries to try and get a better score, so you definitely have something there. 😄 I felt like the game was too difficult, in the majority of my runs, the little pickups the enemies drop would never be attainable before the box has shrunk to a size where it's impossible to not get squished by platforms or skewered by those enemies. I did figure out you could jump on enemies to get rid of them, but even that is really difficult because they're so fast. Maybe simply starting with a bigger box would make the game easier to play. Still, it's a nice game that works and kept me trying again for a few minutes, the graphics work well in my opinion, and the audio exists, which is always a little impressive for a compo game haha. Overall I'd say this is a very good compo entry, well done!
Oct 10 10:02:48 49m 34s Tiny Island ♥ 1 This was nice! It felt a bit too easy to me, it seemed like I knew exactly what to do just from reading the cards' descriptions. Maybe the resources flowing in and out should be less static and predictable? I feel like this type of game can benefit a lot from harsh random events that kill 3/4 of your population for example, or where all your gold is stolen, to keep the players on their toes. It's definitely an interesting concept and I'd like to see more from it.
Oct 10 10:21:39 18m 51s Voyd ♥ 1 Great stuff! I think this is the best execution of the tiny/shrinking-area shooter that I've seen. Gamefeel is good, difficulty scales nicely, audio is pretty great for a compo game. Very slick entry all around, well done!!
Oct 10 10:36:33 14m 54s Kefnac, the Word Grid Game ♥ 1 Another grid-based puzzle game! This is cool, it's weird but it does feel difficult when english isn't your first language, even though the words are spelled right there in the box it just feels like it would be easier if I was just more familiar with all of them. Definitely a very interesting game though, great job!
Oct 11 15:05:21 28h 28m MY LIL WIZARD ♥ 1 Super juicy, and the visuals are great! Gameplay works well but I did wish it felt less redundant. I found myself circling the enemies pretty much always the same way, and since nothing was dealing much damage anyway I felt like I could be pretty careless at it too. Still, this is obviously a very solid entry, great job!
Oct 16 13:42:18 118h 36m wild maid ♥ 1 Really cool game! I love the idea of adapting an old card game with a mixed deck of various game cards, it's really funny and fun. I loved how crazy it gets, but I did find the last part with the health points a bit confusing. Couldn't figure out when I was going to lose HP or deal damage. But for a game made in 48h this is really super impressive all around, well done!!
Oct 19 12:27:19 70h 45m Rush Station ♥ 1 Really cool entry! I really love the art and the sfx are really great. I do wish there was more variation to the gameplay, what you have right now is fun but doesn't feel very challenging, I just play the same way every round until there's just not enough time to get the round done. A very solid compo entry nonetheless, very well done!!
