Jan 10 13:55:29 Hooked (Online) ♥ 1 Wow, the fact that you managed to add a functioning multiplayer feature is amazing!
Jan 10 15:08:41 1h 13m Seed of hate ♥ 0 This is such an amazing concept for the roguelike deckbuilder genre! I could see this possibly become a full release if maybe polished up. The gameplay was nice, and at first, the numbers were quite confusing since I just assumed 7 sword means 7 damage, but that was not the case, but maybe that's just me XD. Great job!
Jan 12 18:48:33 51h 39m Harvey the Harvester ♥ 1 Nice simple game! I could just pick it up on my phone and start playing. Cool take on the roguelike deck building genre where you upgrade all the cards instead of just certain ones. It does get a bit easy tho since the shields persist. All in all tho, for a game made in only a short period of time, solid entry!
Jan 13 14:15:42 19h 27m Goba Day ♥ 1 Very unique game! Loved everything about it... The ambience, the lighting that switches every so often, the sound effects, all just tied together really well to create a beautiful atmosphere. Very relaxing. As for the gameplay itself, at first, I didn't really know what was going on and what I had to do, but those cleverly placed tips throughout the game made me replay the game with the additional knowledge that I thought I had. I got an 18 on the 2nd try, and became curious as to whether I could just feed everyone as long as I space the fruits enough. I was wrong. Made me had to make more careful decisions, and having a lack of fruits really made it all the more difficult. Overall, the nice unique and simple mechanics accompanied by the soothing atmosphere, this game is definitely up there in the ranks!
Jan 13 15:52:07 1h 36m The Gold'n Apples ♥ 3 Very cool game! This is was definitely one of the most unique games I've encountered in this game so far... Although the graphics and music were nothing special, they still provided the sense of calmingness and works together pretty well. The gameplay was also very intuitive, simple mechanics, easy to learn, but hard to master! This was actually the longest I've spent playing a game from this jam. The tutorial was quite a mouthful to read, but delivered very well and was designed to have their values match perfectly. I also didn't encounter a single bug, so that's really nice. Also, I beat Pazzi like I said I would... Ez W honestly (L Pazzi) 🤣🤣🤣 with 405 apples, I am the captain now. Screenshot (77).png Screenshot (78).png All in all, wonderful submission... Well done!
Jan 15 10:24:48 42h 32m No Harvest ♥ 3 Very cute, well made, and polished game! Nice artstyle, unique gameplay, this game checks a lot of boxes... I like the variety of different disasters and plants. For a jam game, this has enough content already... But if you plan to release it fully, a suggestion I have is that you can unlock your own disasters after a certain amount of time, choosing from different shapes and elements. I would also like a leaderboard XD I played this game over 5 times at this point, and this was my best scoreScreenshot_20230115-170406_Chrome.jpg Great game, solid entry, well done!
Jan 15 18:42:59 8h 18m The Harvester ♥ 1 Great game! I really liked the system where you inherit the powers of your ememies, making the progression curve feel very natural since the stronger the enemies get, the stronger you get as well... The art style of the game is very fitting with it's music and it's overall atmosphere, like this chilly spooky dungeon crawling retro game. It was very fun to play, took me a while to get the hang of it but after 4 or 5 tries, I managed to beat the game (That's some good balancing). I also liked the fact that the enemies could hurt each other! Makes for some pretty strategical decisions. Would definitely love to see this get expanded to a full game introducing more skills and perhaps more skill slots! But for a game made in only 3 days, this definitely suffices... Great work, Loved it!
Jan 16 19:33:45 24h 50m Super Plantoid ♥ 3 Okay, first of all... Wow, the fact that you guys were able to pull this off under the time constraints was amazing! The game was pretty long and filled with a bunch of variety. The level design was interesting to say the least, not the best (sometimes checkpoints were a bit unforgiving, and sometimes tedious walking back was required), but for being made in only 3 days, it more than suffices. What I particularly like the most was the flotato, in terms of design, it was pretty much professional level... The fact that there were 2 key features in this game and that was holding the plant and shooting the plant, the flotato covers both areas in a very well-made manner. Hold the plant to float, or shoot it to make a bouncy bubble... Good stuff. The animations were cute and felt polished. Controls seemed a bit confusing at first, but it worked nonetheless. A part that I had mixed feelings on (sorry if it sounds a bit mean, but I just want to give honest feedback) was the dark part. Sure the glow fruit was cool with its effects and stuff, however, it sort of mitigates everything else about the game. To clarify, you basically cannot progress if you didn't have the fruit, plus when you get hit, you lose the fruit... So essentially this part requires you to hold only 1 type of fruit, while not being able to shoot it, and you basically only have 1 life. A suggestion I have for this is making the glow fruit similar to the bubble, whereas when you shoot it, it sort of stays in place for quite some time, before slowly decaying. That's really the only major complaint... One minor complaint was that the planting sound got a little repetitive XD. Other than that, the rest of the sounds were nice, the music was fitting, the atmosphere definitely suits the game. I like how you guys were able to put some extra quests for the game, those little seed coins, within the time frame, that's just insane. I wouldn't be able to get them tho, the main game was already hard enough XD. Another wow thing was that the level was quite huge considering the time, and the fact that each part felt unique and still filled with content, it does not disappoint. I also liked the fact that the main stage was sort of connected to a lot of the parts, completing certain parts would take you back to the main stage, and parts that were unreachable at first now slowly unlocked not by hard-unlocking them, but by granting you mechanics that allow you to overcome the problem that hindered you from entering those new parts in the first place. Overall well done! Great Job!
Jan 20 14:33:32 90h 59m Soul Garden ♥ 1 This was a pretty neat idea! I like that you are tasked to harvest souls that decay over time. The visuals were pretty nice, and the music still fits for a jam game. However, a few things I would like to suggest are: 1. Make the energy meter a bar like a health bar so that it could be read easier. 2. Make the enemies' movement more predictable, maybe by making them slower and more consistent. Overall tho, for a game made in only a short period of time... Great job!
Jan 20 14:53:01 19m 29s Void Walkers ♥ 1 I really loved the aesthetics of the game! This was such a cool and interesting game... I also really liked the effects when you're about to enter a dimension, those squigly fluttery thingy effect, and the background thingy effect that I don't know how to describe... Not to mention the movement felt amazing... that slingy thingy while accelerating and then hitting balls at high speeds. Added on to that is some nice background music that fits perfectly with the style of the game. However, when you're outside of the dimensions, the movement feels sluggish and uncrisp. Other than that tho, loved the atmosphere of the game, and the nice simplistic art style with those (I assume to be complex) moving background thingy majiggies. Great work!
Jan 20 15:28:33 35m 32s Harvest Hewn ♥ 1 Really cool and cute game! I enjoyed playing it! At first, I didn't know how to play so I just sold the veggies every day... But then I noticed that the price of the veggies change each day, so then I tried waiting for a good harvest price, then bought the shotgun and it was easy going from there. Next upgrade I got was hermes' shoes and I was pretty much UNSTOPPABLE! Anyway, the artstyle was cute, the music fit the overall atmosphere, and the sound effects were nice (though, when getting hit by multiple enemies, I think it would be better to just make like 1 or 2 sounds play, not all of them since it got very loud at one point, but that's a very minor issue). Another thing I liked was the shop, which had a bunch of different items... incredible that you managed to add a lot of items like that. But what's the most satisfying part of the game was when you've collected so much veggies, and then the price per veggie was high... *chef's kiss* Overall a very solid entry! Great job!
Jan 20 15:46:24 17m 51s Nightmare Containment ♥ 3 Nice game! I really like the idea! I think if it were more fleshed out it would be much more fun... The atmosphere was really well-made, the science lab looked pretty good, and the map was HUGE. The music really suited the environment and made it feel super tense. However, some things I think you could note are: 1. It's hard to look around a giant map for something with no logical reason of being there. I think if there was a better sense of direction, this game would feel great! 2. I think difficulty is kind of hard to balance, since when playtesting, you the developer already know where things are, but us players don't have any clue what things are and where they are. 3. Player movement felt kind of janky since you don't immediately stop after release. Overall tho, for a jam entry, this was truly a game with a nice horror-like atmosphere. The idea is there, and could very well be expanded upon... Great work!
Jan 23 12:39:55 68h 53m Infernal Garden ♥ 1 Great work! One of the most visually appealing game in the jam! The gameplay was nice and simple... A bunch of plant variety makes the game more interesting and fresh. I also liked the music... very alive. The difficulty scaled quite well , tho it got quite ridiculous in the end game. The character animations were pretty cute and the plants were pretty well-designed. Great Job!
Jan 23 12:55:38 15m 43s Harvest Survivors ♥ 1 Nice cute game! I liked the cute atmosphere along with its music and little animals and stuff... I also like the take on the vampire survivors genre XD (similar to what my friend and I made)... There was a good amount of variety in the upgrades and plants (but I don't really know what coins and the green thing does, I assume the green thing is exp, bu then what are coins?) Anyway, some little changes that would make the game much more alive would be character animations, button hover effects, enemy hit effects, but other than that, for a jam game this suffices! Some things I was also not sure of were the sword upgrades, and the sun enemy. I managed to get a score of 1012 before getting brutally murdered by the sun 😢 Overall a nice entry, great job!
Jan 23 20:36:06 7h 40m The Onion Quest ♥ 1 I love this game so much! It's so cute! It's also apparently heavily inspired by games like super auto pets and those alike, which I enjoy... (I am a proud golden poop owner of super auto pets). I like the different variety of vegetables available and the fact that you have to sort of figure out what things work and what don't. I played this game 3 times, first not knowing how things worked, second losing to the boss because I just realized that the mushrooms disappear if I don't have space when they die, and third finally beating the game. As others have already mentioned... Having audio would be nice, and the health and attack being weirdly positioned and colored (I just associate red with health and grey with attack bcs of sap, and also left is usually attack, and right health) being changed would be favorable. However, already implementing all these algorithms and functions properly in such a short time is probably not easy, well done on that! (I assume the map and the vegetable interactions took some time to get right). Anyway, great game! Loved it! Here's a screenshot of proof that I beat it and my build Screenshot (81).pngScreenshot (82).png
Jan 23 20:42:21 6m 15s tomato harvester ♥ 1 It's a nice idea! I like the overall atmosphere of the game and the sort of zen-like feel to it... The game was quite buggy tho, some things just phase through the floor and I couldn't get them back anymore... Also, like another commenter already mentioned, I think you opted out of the wrong topics, the theme was very fitting, but there was no audio. For a jam game tho, it's great that you were able to make and finish something!
Jan 23 21:03:51 21m 30s Dice Farm ♥ 0 Wow, this game was very cute and polished! Amazing amount of smooth animations and feedback to the player... There's just a few things that takes away from most of the fun... The difficulty and the rng (There's both dice rolls, and weather, which takes into effect at the beginning of the season? I think weather should determine the decision the player has to make, and not another random factor)... However, I think that just by lowering the feeding and tax prices, this game could go off to the moon! The gameplay was very unique, and for a first jam game? This was completely and utterly impressive! Kudos to your team for making such an awesome game! would love to see if this game could get that little bit of balance needed (and a browser version) then I would definitely visit this again. The audio and music were also nice and chill. Great work, good job!
Apr 25 07:31:34 2194h 27m Buzzkill ♥ 0 Hi! I really like the artstyle in this game! I love you guys' work! 😁
