| May 2 12:27:51 | Penguin Chef | ♥ 3 | This game is so cute!!! The artstyle, the music, and the little penguin and his expressions are just wonderful! However, the gameplay is actually quite on the harder side, since food just rapidly spawns in, and there is no way to grab certain foods, but rather have to slide on them... Which is an interesting take on the cooking sim games! This seems like it would be super fun with a friends, unfortunately I don't have anyone to play with... But, overall well done! I love it! | |
| May 2 14:54:49 | 2h 26m | Holding Out | ♥ 3 | YOOOO THIS GAME IS AMAZING!!! Super honored to be an "inspiration" for such an awesome entry! I love the cute little dude and the cute zombies as well. Very well-crafted and smooth pixel animations. I love the hold music as well, puts you in the false atmosphere as if I weren't in a room full of zombies. JUICY camera shake, but one thing to make it even JUICIER is perhaps a louder and more splashy zombie death sound. The customer service guy is also really funny and accurate to real-life customer services 😆 As for the theme, this game takes it very interestingly and unique, yet it still fits so perfectly. For something made in 48 hours AND solo, balance might not be something that comes to mind at first when creating the game, especially of this quality, but can really be felt while playing the game... It's understandable tho. The previous comment has also mentioned it, cricket and extra ammo are the most important upgrades, and sometimes it comes down to luck, also sometimes either the ammo is too little or the hold times are too long... But hey again, totally understandable. But when it comes to the gameplay... This was definitely very innovative and creative. There is a mix between strategy of trying to save ammo, trying to talk on the phone, and not dying. Enemies are pretty easy to kill, and so the twinstick shooter elements are not really the main selling point, but rather the unique phone call system. Overall, really great game... Amazing work! |
| May 2 17:35:31 | 2h 40m | Disk Dasher | ♥ 2 | Cool game! The idea is fairly simple, and it was well-executed. I love the simple implied tutorial where you're immediately given the CD and where to deliver it to, sort of introducing the player to the mechanics of the game right from the beginning without using any text. However, I do find it a bit hard, and since my laptop is pretty laggy, I couldn't get that high of a score, 5 was my best 😅 and that was after a lot of attempts. I also do feel like the movement is a bit janky, I think that left and right should just turn the player, and not move. Maybe that's just me tho. Overall, great game! Well done! |
| May 2 17:52:05 | 16m 34s | Wrong address | ♥ 1 | Awesome game feel! I like the juiciness of the game and the artstyle... Though I have to admit, it was pretty difficult, and sometimes I feel like I can't shoot, idk why. Overall great job tho! |
| May 2 18:50:27 | 58m 22s | GobEx | ♥ 6 | This game is so CUTE! I love it... The music, the art and most importantly the goblin are all so cute and adds onto the mood of the game! The little yays of the goblin is also so cute! And my wow, you added an online leaderboard? that's amazing, man... honestly, this was really fun to play like for real. I played for real, legit, fair and square, obviously there were no exploits involved in the process of getting my 19000+ score... could've gone for longer but my finger gets tired.. so yeah.. Flex.PNG here's uhh... I don't put it in the leaderboard so that people don't get discouraged 😁 and this one's a different exploit (I think) from the other guy. Anyway, for the actual gameplay, it was great! It's unique, and I do agree that the clipboard does get in the way, but hotkeys did solve the problem. If you don't want hotkeys, maybe you can put it to the side where it doesn't disrupt the player's screen. Also, I feel that having to click to grab then click again to release was kinda unintuitive, perhaps make it so that I can just click and drag? Other than that... Amazing game, love it! Great Job! |
| May 2 19:07:26 | 16m 59s | Maily Melo | ♥ 5 | This game is ADORABLE! I love the cute artstyle and the little characters... The music fit the atmosphere of the game, and the sound of opening the letters are very satisfying. As for the gameplay itself, it was really fun trying to deduce which letters belonged to which, but I feel like there needs to be like a score system to determine how well you did, but I guess it kinda goes against the feel of the game that is freedom. There might be some secret interactions I don't know about... I only played it once, but it felt like a lot of the characters didn't get anything, only a select few did (but then again I had a lot of question marks that may have belonged to another person), (ans also I kinda returned quite a lot of the mail). But I'm curious to know if there are perhaps secrets that I missed. Other than that, very cute game, loved it! |
| May 3 14:49:30 | 19h 42m | You Got Mail! | ♥ 2 | I really love this game! The art is so cute and feels a lot like crossy road's voxel art but 2d... The atmosphere also feels a lot like crossy road, which I used to love as a kid. The car variety is great, not too little and not too much, very fit for a game jam. The music is also pretty alright, enforces the retro pixel style, and the sound effects are also really nice (I like that when we go close to a car, they will honk). I guess one thing about the sound is collecting a box should also have a sound but it's completely fine. The difficulty of the game is actually incredibly well-made, easy to pick up, easy to play, yet not quite easy to master... Perfect for a mobile game, and has layers of reaction time, strategy, rhythm, and understanding of how the game works (like each lane can only have 1 car max). It's honestly beautiful. One thing I would say is there should be a diffciulty curve (like player moves faster or car spawn faster the higher score you get). Other than that, great entry! Loved it! Also here's my highscore... Screenshot_20230503-214059_You Got Mail!.jpg |
| May 17 13:45:27 | 334h 55m | Grav Garb | ♥ 2 | Yooo this was a very well-made game! I love the music and sounds, and the retro feel to it. The goals and controls are pretty intuitive, and very cool alien art :) However, you guys (or I guess @xxatrain223) were able to create an online system in a short period of time in GODOT??? Hats off to you, I would love to be able to learn that XD... Anyway, well done, great job! |
