| Apr 12 16:59:59 | The Death Pit Will Have You! | ♥ 2 | 95 seconds! | |
| Apr 13 13:21:25 | 20h 21m | Forest Runner | ♥ 1 | At least I'm not the only one who suddenly ended up with -60 coins 😅 |
| Apr 13 14:38:22 | 1h 16m | Perchance to Dream | ♥ 0 | Dark ending 😧 |
| Apr 13 18:08:11 | 3h 29m | Losing Your Sheet | ♥ 2 | I got to 131 and thought that was pretty good but here I'm blown away by all these 200+ scores 😲 Fun game, impressive compo entry for sure. Good sound and graphics with original gameplay! At first I thought the music was dynamic and reacting to what I was doing. Maybe that's not the case, but maybe it is :-) |
| Apr 14 16:57:56 | 22h 49m | Battery Low | ♥ 1 | At first I was worried there was a limited amount of drones available but once I stopped worrying it made exploration fun and allowed me to finish the game in the end. Great entry and fits the theme well. And unlike many submissions (certainly mine) the thing that is "inevitable" doesn't mean it has to be game over. |
| Apr 14 17:10:31 | 12m 35s | ReactorWrangler | ♥ 1 | Big props for the voiced tutorial! Not just the tutorial but all of the audio work was well done. Managing the simple task was rewarding when things worked out, even though that didn't last too long for me :-) Would have been great if there was a score at the end, even just number of seconds would have been fun to post here. Great submission, fits the theme well! |
| Apr 14 17:20:38 | 10m 07s | The moss accident | ♥ 0 | 143.77 seconds was my best attempt. I'm quite impressed by this game, it felt like it might be possible to defeat the moss. It's what kept me trying over and over. Even in the end it didn't feel like the moss had gotten that much more aggressive and I might have been able to burn a path through it and... well, it didn't work out :-) Great game, well done! |
| Apr 14 17:29:26 | 8m 48s | Worm Food | ♥ 1 | wormfood.png Now my hands hurt... 😆 Such a simple idea, yet fits the theme perfectly. Interesting to have a 2D and a 3D version, definitely gets some bonus points for the novel idea. Well done! |
| Apr 14 17:42:31 | 13m 05s | Loyal Prisoner | ♥ 1 | 38 days was my best score. That dude suddenly got really strong! Ouch! One little issue I found was on the web version I played it seemed like every time I ended up on the title screen the music started over while the previous music kept playing. Nothing worrying, and as others said, great art and great fit for the theme, well done! 👍 |
| Apr 14 17:54:36 | 12m 05s | Mightiest Minion | ♥ 1 | The screen-shake causing the camera to shift is certainly a problem 😆 I tried placing bombs more on the left side of the screen to make it shift back, which sadly didn't work. But if it did that would be a fun game in itself, maybe next LD 🤔 Speaking of play testing, I did find myself spending more time on testing this time which I remember thinking to myself "I could spend all this time implementing more features". Gamejams are tough! Nevertheless, this certainly is a solid compo entry, well done! |
| Apr 14 18:08:06 | 13m 30s | The Dimmest Dungeon | ♥ 0 | Almost gave up at the start of level 3 but then I figured it out, clever :-) Great entry, I, too, enjoyed the bit of Mario 3 underground vibe I got from the music, ha ha! |
| Apr 15 14:30:05 | 20h 21m | The Great Flood | ♥ 1 | Wowowow very impressive I'm blown away. Great visuals and audio and foremost great puzzle mechanics where things just work as expected. This was a joy to finish, thanks! |
| Apr 15 15:01:10 | 31m 05s | A Halting Problem | ♥ 1 | Very impressive entry. I once tried something [similar for LD47](https://schellingb.github.io/Botloop/) but this is far beyond in every way. First of all the stages are all a decent challenge with a good steadily difficulty increase. As many have mentioned the UI is a joy to use and very intuitive. I have yet to try Godot so it's hard to say how much of the functionality comes built-in and how much was made for the jam, but nevertheless this being done in 48 hours with everything around it is astounding. |
| Apr 15 15:16:07 | 14m 57s | DLAY's Buffet | ♥ 1 | Hooray, I freed the island! Nice short game with a decent challenge but nothing too crazy. Games where I can win can never be bad, can they? 😆 A tiny bit more gameplay would have been appreciated, maybe the lava tiles stay or fall away to increase the challenge a bit. Or have the option to use a sheep to "fix" a lava tile so there needs to be a bit more strategy then just mashing spacebar. Nevertheless what is there is fun and complete and the drumming beat is pretty sweet, too. And who doesn't like throwing a few sheep at some laughing devil bucket face thing?? |
| Apr 15 15:26:21 | 10m 14s | Definitely not Titanic | ♥ 2 | Impressive cutscenes and the voxely look is pretty neat. It did feel a bit aimless but I did manage to delay the inevitable for 3 minutes, thanks to that one hammer I found. Now I saw someone got 4 hammers and I feel a bit jealous, no way I can compete with that! 😁 I never found any barrels on the top floor so I ended up neglecting it, not sure if that was a mistake. Overall the chaos and the chaotic music along with it was entertaining so I had a good time 👍 |
| Apr 15 16:06:16 | 39m 55s | Igneous | ♥ 2 | FIRE.PNG That took a lot of time and a lot of clicking 🔥 🔥 🔥 I guess I had enough fun to finish all the levels, so thumbs up from me! :-) |
| Apr 15 16:16:08 | 9m 52s | Captain Starforce | ♥ 0 | Wow the presentation! And on Pico8! Even the itch-io website has a nice design. And the game itself plays well, too! Color me impressed, well done, Captain! |
| Apr 15 16:23:10 | 7m 02s | The Last Knight | ♥ 1 | Cute game! I kept getting stuck twice and had to abort those attempts but other than that it was a fun challenge. At first I thought that the moving camera angle was a bit annoying to keep targeting things but I got the hang of it. |
| Apr 15 16:33:57 | 10m 47s | LD_50_Lost Soul | ♥ 2 | Movement did feel a bit rough but I know it's surprisingly hard to make a good feeling platformer. Some things to consider when making a platformer: - When landed on a surface the character sticks to it (doesn't slide too much, if the platform moves the player moves with it, etc) - Jumping has a nice arc, it also feels better that only when holding the jump button longer makes the jump reach the top height - Jumping is only possible while standing on a surface or very shortly after walking off a platform (unless there is double jumping) - During a jump the player has some air control - Collisions against walls don't change the vertical jump velocity (unless there is some intended wall jumping) The list could go on. There's many YouTube videos that dive deeper and take apart some of the well regarded classics of the genre. For this being a first time jam this is certainly one to be proud of. It's a full game with an opening, a story and (I assume) an ending. I hope you try again, maybe another platformer that feels just a bit better or maybe something completely different. |
