Apr 26 14:43:35 Bob ♥ 1 Couldn't manage to get the second cog, didn't see what I should've done to stop the endless torrent of zombies. The pixel art is very good, and the music & sound effects fit together well. The jumping felt a little floaty at first, but it did make the game more focuused on the running and shooting, as to not inspire Mario-like jumping shenanigans. Solid entry!
Apr 26 14:55:45 12m 10s Search and Resque ♥ 3 The digging didn't quite happen at the center of the screen, which made it a little hard in some places. In the end, I got stuck in a deep hole I dug myself, and couldn't get up. The marching cubes -system is very cool, if maybe a little slow to experiment with, considering the digging speed.
Apr 27 17:48:26 26h 52m One Shot in the Dark, Now I'm Dead. ♥ 1 An interesting ride, well written and presented. Nice post-apocalypse vibes.
Apr 27 17:54:54 6m 28s Space Grappler ♥ 1 What an interesting idea! At first I was a little confused as to how to find the goal, thinking that the rocks would be lit from one side 😁 I hit an asteroid without much possibility of evasion quite often, but the core idea here is really good, well done.
May 16 20:36:40 458h 41m Deep Dark Discoveries ♥ 0 Managed to descend 2 km, eventually becoming too greedy by trying to hasten the descent by not using the booster. This led to imminent demise at the hands of gravity and hard rock. Solid models and a nice minimalist soundtrack, setting a some kind of a vibe to the whole thing.
May 16 21:11:54 35m 14s Space Trench Miner ♥ 1 Excellent theming on the UI elements, and overall on the graphics, feels like a well executed vision :) The mining feels a little too slow, even with a speed upgrade. That said, even with the current speed, more graphical feedback for the mining would've improved the feeling a lot (i.e. faster flashes or even a cracking graphic). Well done on the caves and proc gen too!
May 16 21:41:40 29m 46s The Cave ♥ 1 What a wholesome experience! I named my torches after important concepts like "Peace" and "Happiness" at first, ending with "Vertical Mouselook" and "W" as I couldn't be bothered to come up with more. That said, my only complaint really is the very sensitive mouselook (slider for camera turning speed would be great) and lack of an vertical invert option for the mouselook. Otherwise, I really like the adventure you've built here: the light placement was especially neat, the way they light up corridors behind a few turns in unexpected ways. Credits are fun to read and give space to reflect, so they were a nice touch.
May 16 21:46:54 5m 14s DarΓ© Fortress ♥ 1 This is the only LD game I've run from source, which was a nice addition to the experience. Works great on Linux. I'm not sure if there was any need for the warriors, but I dug down and made sure the dwarves didn't starve, and then the game ended. Anyways, always neat to see a proper text game, good stuff πŸ‘
May 16 21:52:45 5m 51s Black Magic, White Cat ♥ 0 Seems like a really fun game, but trying to play the game both in Firefox and the itch.io app only shows an error: 2021-05-17-005049.png I'm on Linux, which I figure is the root cause of this issue. I reviewed the Graphics category though, based on the screenshots :)
May 16 22:00:55 8m 10s Welcome to the Factory ♥ 1 Really digging the graphics style, the crayon-y hand-drawn vibe. The sound effects getting louder as you get near them is a good mechanic, makes the dangers more apparent. The mechanic is inherently a little fiddly (slow acceleration), but overall the game is well built. Love to see a Godot entry! Works great on Linux, as expected.
May 16 22:12:10 11m 15s Deep Sea Tycoon ♥ 1 Fantastic graphics! Really enjoyed the interface. As for the mechanics, clearly the crew costs way too much to be worth it: at least I noticed much greater earnings with apparently self-operating oil rigs πŸ˜„ Even after trying to build up some income, hiring people to each rig was too expensive, and I went into debt. A fun little investment game, though drilling for oil seems a little crude in 2021 πŸ˜‰
May 16 22:25:01 12m 51s Fall Damage Isn't Fun ♥ 1 Interesting choice to make the game's core challenge be fall damage, when the title says fall damage isn't fun 😁 There's solid platforming to be done, though with the current speed my reflexes are struggling with it. The physical boxes add a little spice to the environment, and that's a good addition to make the platforming more interesting. I'd spend a little more time getting the movement working smoothly next time: a more fitting player speed/acceleration, and good jumping feel would be a great improvement. Finally, the graphics are on point. Keep it up!
