Apr 27 12:17:03 Darwings ♥ 1 Wow, that's such an unsual experience! Thanks for creating this! The mood is so cool!
Apr 27 13:03:42 46m 39s T-Minus ♥ 2 The game looks great, I took a lot of time landed on a plant just looking at planets, congrats on the art! Although I have found 4 ways you can improve your game : - The Power mechanic needs to be more intuitive, I've spent 5 minutes to figure out that if I drag up, the power increases and if I drag down the power decreases. - The rotation of the ship make it a nightmare to calculate where you're going to land. lower the rotation ratio, at least at the begining of the game to help the player understanding the gameplay. - The Gas has no real use in a short game like this (game jam game). In a "normal" game, such mechanic would appear around level 5 to 10. You need to be sure that the player knows the game core mechanic before giving him more. - Level Design is SOOOOO IMPORTANT! Your levels are nice, but it lacks a "tutorial" level and then some progression in difficulty to bring more challenge. For example, I'd set your first level as a lvl 3 or 4. That means that when I start playing there must be one challenge, learn how to thrust. Then, you add a bit of difficulty to make the player developp his accuracy, then his efficiency etc... just go step by step :). Overall I think the one true thing missing is Level Design, apart from that, I think the mood is awesome, the grahics are cute and sweet and the audio is neat! Keep up the good work guys!
Apr 27 13:17:25 13m 43s Deep in the ocean ♥ 2 Hi, that's a very nice entry! I had fun playing it! Here's a couple ways you could improve you game: - scaling difficulty - changing fish types (as mentioned above) - if you say, you must not disturb fishes, then you should punish the player for doing so. It can either be a game over, or adding a "biome disturbance" bar that increases as the player hits creatures and when it reaches max level, it's game over. Those are examples of course, but I think that losing oxygen if you touch a fish is not punishing enough the player for bad behavior (especially against fishes ><) - setting a special color scheme for objects that you have to pick up, here it's the oxygen. The oxygen is the same color as the turtles so it doesn't come to your mind immediatly that you can and have to pick it up. Despite those minor fixes that you can work on (if you find it interesing of course), I think you've worked well on the art, and mood!
Apr 27 16:43:05 3h 25m Deep into the Woods ♥ 2 Nice entry! Your art is great, and your Level Design is nice too. Each and every level is challenging in it's own way, love it!
Apr 27 16:50:10 7m 05s Decisive Maneuver ♥ 1 I'm FIRST !! Yay! Very nice game, simple yet effective! Good game!
Apr 28 13:32:16 20h 42m We have to dig deeper ♥ 1 Hi, nice job, the game looks cool. However, I have some advice I can give you about a few things : - Menu : the buttons (interactable objects) are the same color as the background making it unclear. Maybe you should outline the buttons with a brighter color or put a filter of some kind on the background to fade it a little bit. - Game Design : The objective is not clear. Do I have to defend the blue thing in the middle ? No, because the slimes destroyed it and nothing happened. Do I have to survive the longest I can ? Maybe, but I don't see no score and the only thing I can get are coins which are only used to buy bread. According to the title of your game I was expecting as score (in meters for example) that increase the deeper I go (survive. - Gameplay : Attacking feels awkward... there's a kind of timing to get but you can't really attack without taking a hit back can you? - Graphics : nothing to say, you master this already ;) Hope you don't take this bad, I'm just trying to help you improve your game because I think it's the start of a good project :). Good luck fellow.
Apr 28 14:28:29 56m 13s Dungeon Slide ♥ 1 Hi! I usually find something "bad" to say about games I test post LudumDare. You know critics to help owner/s improve their game... But here, I have nothing to say, I meani it's game jam game, so perfection is not a word I'd use. But man.. Your game is AWESOME! There's everything a player needs : - The objective is clear (+1 point) - The level design is great, every new mechanic is cleverly introduced to the player and yet it is always challenging (+10 points!) - The instruction are on screen, you can't miss it (+1 point) - Graphics are not the best point of the game (LD is!) but yet it is just what's necessary to feel polished! (+1 point) Once again, thanks for this submission, I'm gald I could play this!
Apr 28 18:00:13 3h 31m Cave Rider ♥ 0 Hi! The game's nice although, as a lot of players around here, I think the game's to hard, at least for me. As one mentioned above, I think success is more up to luck than skill. But very nice pixel art, parallax and music!
Apr 29 18:17:10 24h 16m Vox Machina ♥ 0 Hi! The concept is awesome but I couldn't find the way to defeat monsters or the boss :/
Apr 29 18:26:37 9m 27s Deep Way To Basement ♥ 1 Hi! Very nice entry! Congrats! I loved the graphics and gameplay. The game feels good, it's very polished!
Apr 30 08:29:24 14h 02m DeeperCORP ♥ 0 WOW BEST ENTRY I'VE PLAYED SO FAR! Sorry for caps but I think the game deserves it :D
Apr 30 09:00:57 31m 33s Mined mines ♥ 2 Ahahah, we've also created a game with mechanics related to the minesweeper. Yours is more "classic" style but I really appreciated playing it. The music is nice, the fact that you can climb up the rocks makes it easy to move around without being completly stuck. Nice game overall. Good work
Apr 30 09:14:04 13m 07s Just Down Jack ♥ 1 Hi there, thanks for the entry, it feels really nice. The game is simple yet effective. I had fun playing it. It was a smooth experience, the controls are simple, the gameplay intesifies the deeper you go. Overall very nice entry. Good work!
Apr 30 09:30:32 16m 28s Digging In ♥ 2 Hi, the game is so well polished! The starting dock looks so great, the particle effect of the drill is awesome, I really loved the graphic part. I also really appreciated the sound effects, all potions have their own sound but I think the drilling loop was a bit annoying at some point. I've reached 8385m but I felt like the gameplay was a bit fade... I think there are almost as many potions down at 5000m than at 1000m. I think that's the only "bad" point about this game. I think the game is very well done either way, shoutout to the controls, they're soooo smooth, I loved it! And also, nice instructions, both in-game and on the webpage. Congrats!
May 1 13:49:04 28h 18m Deep Fried Pancake! ♥ 2 Ahahaha! That's a funny concept! Simple in the mechanics, yet the controls are a kinda new. I loved it! Thanks for the entry!
May 2 19:18:00 29h 28m Truck or Pupper ♥ 1 Ahaha that's a pretty funny combination, it's fun to play both games at the same time :D. Not a common game, I appreciate that! Congrats for the entry.
May 3 12:29:02 17h 11m Deep Space Escape ♥ 1 Hi dude. I really like the concept but the game is a bit boring, there's no real challenge unfortunatly, just send shuttles to gather food to survive another jump. I don't mean to be mean here, I'm just giving my honest feedback. Although, I think you don't need much to create a good experience. Let me tell you how I see the following of development : - Debug a bit --> Planets shouldn't appear behind canvas, or allow player to click through the canvas - Dig you mechanics --> Player shouldn't always be focused on the food, but when he has enough food, he should be allowed to gather other ressources (as you already imagined) to upgrade his space vessel or his shuttles - New art design for the space vessel and shuttle - Playtest session - Then rince and repeat --> Debug --> Add mechanics --> Art --> Playtest --> etc etc... Good luck fellow!
May 4 12:39:01 24h 09m Below the Ocean ♥ 1 WOW, that's a blast! I simply fell in love with the game! It looks good, it sounds good, it feels good! a masterpiece! I'll give it the best score I can! Congratulation for the entry!
May 4 12:52:47 13m 46s The circuit ♥ 1 Nice mechanic you used there! Cool concept, I hope you'll do more of that in the future ;). Nice entry, congratulations!
May 5 19:32:14 30h 39m The bomble mines ♥ 1 Hi, nice entry! The bombles pattern were not easy to predict in my opinion, their moves are a bit to "sharp". Even if the hit box is more than fair, it sometimes feels clunky to play. On more thing that is kinda misleading is letting a "blank" spot on the right of the screen just after a jump. What I mean is it's not, in my opinion, a good idea not too show the player where he's going to land. As some people mentioned, there's a little lack of sound, but I think that's a minor problem for a game like this. I really appreciated the art and the naimation. Even if I think the "bouncing" animation is kind of bugged, indeed the animation continues even after landing, I guess that's not intentionnal. Overall, that's a good entry! Keep up the good work :)
May 6 19:40:50 24h 08m Sticky Diagnosis ♥ 2 Hi, I really love the concept of the game, but as mentioned above, it feels a bit too random and I think you need to complete too many runs in order to get the first upgrade. Also, I think it's a bit unfair to use the leftover this way, I mean, if it's on the left side of the screen, there's like no way to put it properly on the tongue depressor. I felt this a bit frustrating sometimes. But, I really love the concept, game design is awesome, it's not buggy as hell, it's very polished, the facecam effect is sooo cool, and the audio is nice too. Overall I think it just needs some little twists here and there. Good work team! Keep it up ;)
