| Oct 9 20:07:53 | We are me: Solaris Sands | ♥ 1 | Congrats for this great game ! There are a lot of things packed in there, from the gameplay (with AI ennemies !) to the 3D graphics and the voice acting. An entry full of good surprises. Strengths : - Dat voice acting tho - A lot of content, and clever reuse of assets - Fun combat Possible improvements : - You explicitely recommended a pad for a good reason... Mouse controls felt wonky, especially since you cannot go 360° in the browser Great entry ! Looking forward to seeing more ! | |
| Oct 9 20:44:32 | 36m 39s | Twisted Citadel | ♥ 0 | Excellent entry ! As other reviewers have mentioned, the focus, the polish and the scope are perfect. The controls are slick, and the game looks and sounds awesome. Strengths : - Great audio, great graphics - Awesome, polished controls - The level design and take on the theme are fantastic Possible improvements : - Reduce down time when dying or opening a door |
| Oct 9 21:19:58 | 35m 26s | A Pug In Time | ♥ 2 | Nice entry ! The puzzle mechanics are well introduced and well expanded upon. The take on the theme is interesting, and I found myself doing many more levels than I expected to. Congrats ! Strengths : - Pugs ! In time ! Easy to control ! - Cool visuals and freakin awesome soundtrack - Fun puzzle design Possible improvements : - Readability sometimes takes a hit in larger levels. I also found myself wanting to move the camera at some point, but all of that has already been mentioned by @pink-shard-games. Well done ! |
| Oct 9 21:26:37 | 6m 39s | One Slicing Minute | ♥ 1 | Fun entry ! As a big fan of Revengeance, I really enjoyed seeing this mechanic recreated while trying to interpret the them. The graphical identity is also nice. Strengths : - Strong visual identity - Battle-tested core gameplay Possible improvements : - Orbital controls don't sit well with HTML5 games (but I guess that's what controllers are for). |
| Oct 9 21:37:23 | 10m 46s | One Monorail | ♥ 1 | Fun game ! Rotating on the monorail felt very satisfying, and was quite hypnotizing. I really liked the way you managed to provide a fun experience with limited means. Strenghts : - Great theme use - Fun core mechanic - Strong visual identity Possible improvements : - Shooting gets stale after a while Well done ! |
| Oct 9 21:49:53 | 12m 30s | Anything For You | ♥ 3 | I have been trying to make nice narrative games for 6 Ludum Dare in a row. For my 7th, I decided to give up : it was too hard trying to get players hooked to a text-based game when there were that many games around, narration was too big of an effort for the payoff during rating time, and, most of all, the jam time constraints (and the duration of the games themselves) did not make room for satisfying narratives. I had it all wrong : I immensely enjoyed your game. ☑️ Start with a relatable premise to save on introduction. ☑️ Split your story into small chunks, triggered by a light gameplay element ☑️ Add a few twists and hard scenes here and there ☑️ Complete the package with awesome art and audio You did everything right. And I'll be trying my hand at visual novels in LD48 ! Impatient to see what's coming next from you guys (https://twitter.com/spacebtwngame right ?) |
| Oct 9 22:09:22 | 19m 29s | Permit A-39 | ♥ 2 | Fun entry ! I liked the art style, the level design and the bits of dialogue. Also, props for that implementation of the theme ! Strengths : - Strong visual style - Fun dialogue and concept Possible improvements : - Lack of visual feedback and confusing goal do not make for the best first impression. But then again, I missed the tutorial at first, so it's mostly my fault for being a dumbass But all in all, great job ! I really enjoyed going with the flow of the game |
| Oct 9 22:18:06 | 8m 44s | LoopyPong | ♥ 1 | I had a lot of fun playing this entry ! It is a good exemple of a simple take on the theme executed right, with cool graphics and audio. Strengths : - The controls are good and the core gameplay is immediately fun - Simple graphics make for a good UX - The twist of the ship moving works really well the first time Possible improvements : - Either reduce the lifebar of the ship or make it so that all countered missiles go back from where they came from, without friction All in all, excellent game ! |
| Oct 9 22:23:59 | 5m 53s | Catch the Higgs boson | ♥ 1 | Nice little concept, that gets more and more fun the more you accumulate bullets. The single level available is already nice and fun by itself. Great job doing something fun in so little time ! Strengths : - Simple gameplay that gets more and more interesting fast - Good puzzle/level design Possible improvements : - I guess that's a given since you only had 8 hours, but visually, it's a bit barren All in all, fun entry ! I would love to see what you could do by using the full jam timespan. |
| Oct 9 22:30:17 | 6m 18s | Flight Stick Uncalibrated | ♥ 2 | Given the title and the multiple joystick warnings given in the intro, I did not know what to expect. The first few seconds of the game made me chuckle, and even more so when I realized how it was tied into the theme. Great job ! Strenghts : - The interpretation of the theme - Fun contextualization and gameplay - Still easier to control than Elite Dangerous with no assists Possible improvements : - Please stop reminding me how much I stuck at flight/space sims |
| Oct 9 22:37:09 | 6m 52s | Looped | ♥ 1 | Amazing meta game ! It was really reminiscent of The Stanley Parable, and I'm glad people are still making like those, especially when the theme is so fitting ! Strengths : - Fun writing and twists - A bunch of puzzles Possible improvements : - It is hard to know if you are really done...but that might actually be considered as a feature Great entry ! |
