| Apr 20 08:09:13 | Sci-Fi Lumber | ♥ 1 | Really solid and nice game. As a Tip: you could have made it more clear what "charge" actually does. | |
| Apr 20 08:16:25 | 7m 12s | Machine Gun Chicken | ♥ 2 | Really nice game: the minimap is only a bit disorientating. The camera on the minimap also has perspective so this gives a really strange effect. |
| Apr 20 21:17:05 | 13h 00m | Crystal Defense | ♥ 0 | Nice game: I personally run linux but I got it working in wine, it would be nice if you used the webbuild option of unity. That way you don't have to download it. |
| Apr 20 21:24:50 | 7m 45s | The Intern | ♥ 2 | I tried to extract the rar file but unrar and 7zip but both gave an error on linux. Maybe the file got corrupted or its just a linux thing. Tip: use zip next time that is more universal and natively supported by all Operating Systems. |
| Apr 20 21:28:03 | 3m 13s | Satisfy'n: Keep the Love Alive | ♥ 1 | Nice game, and really good interpretation of the theme |
| Apr 20 21:38:24 | 10m 21s | Grove Guardian | ♥ 2 | First of all really nice game. Making a game on the Pico8 is one of the many things still on my todo list. The game: The gameplay is a bit comfusing, but after a while I got the idea. I made a gameboy game during ludumdare so I may started playing it with the wrong assubtions. but the idea that you could walk out of the screen was not obvous to me. Many old schools consoles do not support this big size of a map, and specially not with just empty land. Old consoles also do not support changing the background or sprites that fast, so everything velt very modern and strange. But overall really nice game you have implemented a lot for this small amout of time. |
| Apr 20 22:15:44 | 37m 20s | KIA | ♥ 1 | The mirror seemed to work. But i could not extract the rar file using unrar or 7zip on linux. Maybe its just a linux thing. but as a tip use .zip next time that format is naively supported on all Operating Systems. |
| Apr 20 22:51:13 | 35m 29s | Support Class | ♥ 1 | nice game. The Linux build worked and looked great. Maybe you could have added some health bars above the enemies. In The Pokemon games on the DS there was the option to select the opponent you wanted to hit. Something like that would also make it a lot easier to understand what is going on. |
| Apr 20 23:02:08 | 10m 55s | Majestic X | ♥ 1 | Nice game, IT would have been nice if the animations would react faster. The camera angles are very nice btw |
| Apr 20 23:10:42 | 8m 34s | Panda Smash | ♥ 0 | Verrrrry nice game. Just a very well executed idea. |
| Apr 20 23:51:37 | 40m 55s | Lost Signal | ♥ 1 | It Looks nice but I could not play it. When you press CTRL The game crashes (maybe a debug thing still in the game), The mouse sensitivity is 100000% so it very hard to aim. When I Shoot the bullet does not move. |
| Apr 21 00:01:20 | 9m 43s | J-1M: Hamster Protection Force | ♥ 1 | Very nice game, good art nice music. Good puzzels. The skip this turn button only was a bit strange. |
| Apr 21 00:05:46 | 4m 26s | Once Upon a Night | ♥ 2 | I did not got it to work on linux using wine. A web version of linux build would be nice. The art on the images and the sound that did work were very good. |
| Apr 21 00:11:21 | 5m 35s | ezreactor | ♥ 0 | It would be nice to play it. with https://github.com/tweag/asterius you can build it for the web. Or if you don't want to do that just some simple build instructions would have been enough |
| Apr 21 00:22:40 | 11m 19s | Protect the Caravan | ♥ 1 | Just for a comparison: I made a GameBoy game this ludumdare, the gba rom file is 61kb your compressed project is 556.95mb = 556950 kb. So the average game size has apparently grown in the past 20 year by 9000 times. (There is probably something in unity you can change to make it a little bit smaller.) But from the text I got that you had fun making it and that is the most important part. |
| Apr 21 00:28:44 | 6m 04s | Life of ITman | ♥ 3 | This is a little bit to close to reality haha. Very nice concept and not too repetitive because of the constant switching of the task. Also a thanks to the person who mad the itch.io page design. That looked really well. |
| Apr 21 00:43:05 | 14m 21s | Red Vs Blue | ♥ 1 | nice Game. The Next Wave button only felt a bit off. Maybe you could have implemented that the same way as Kingdom Rush has. It automatically goes to the next wave but if you hit that butter earlier you get some extra gold. |
| Apr 21 00:51:19 | 8m 14s | Bébert and Gertrude against the Aliens | ♥ 0 | mmmm 140 mb. This game jam I made a Gameboy game that is 60kb but the average game now a days is 140mb = 140000kb. So you are saying that the avarage game size grew by 140000 / 60 = 2300 times in the past 20 years? Well apparently that is the case. Even tho, nice game. I hope all of you have enjoyed making it. |
| Apr 21 00:56:27 | 5m 08s | Turtle Daddy | ♥ 2 | Very verrrry nice game, really nice art and very well made game with nice graphics. The only thing I want to give as feedback would be that it is not directly clear that the babies in the top left are your lives. The first impression is save 3 babies |
| Apr 21 01:00:31 | 4m 04s | Space Shield | ♥ 3 | very nice to see the "Kurzgesagt – In a Nutshell" art style in a game |
| Apr 21 01:02:02 | 1m 31s | Duck Crossing | ♥ 2 | wow impressive amount of 3d art for this small amount of time. |
| Apr 21 01:10:53 | 8m 51s | GNOME | ♥ 1 | nice and simple game |
| Apr 21 01:31:13 | 20m 20s | Scrambl'd | ♥ 4 | Holey fuck. How have you guys been able to do this is such a small amount of time. This Ludum dare I have made a GBA game myself but damn. The fighting with C code and the constant reading of Tonc http://coranac.com/tonc/text/video.htm took a very long time. Could you make the source code available or give a brief explanation on how you guys have made this? Also the music like how. Its perfect. A long time ago a friend of mine has been working on music for the gba for a whole weekend and got it working with a lot of qwarks like only 3 channels available of the 8 first 4 notes are skiped of a midi etc. And you guys just make something that works and is catchie as hell. damn My gba game and source code can be found here: https://github.com/timostrating/Ludumdare46 Any feedback or pointers on where to start with "non advance" gameboy development are appreciated. |
| Apr 21 09:16:01 | 7h 44m | The Fire | ♥ 1 | nice twist on the art style |
| Apr 21 09:20:57 | 4m 56s | LD46_Charger | ♥ 2 | nice game, the rope also worked really well |
| Apr 21 09:23:49 | 2m 52s | Sons of the Boulder Goddess | ♥ 2 | really nice looking game, The camera work is also very well done. |
| Apr 21 09:33:09 | 9m 20s | AMT: Alien Medical Technician | ♥ 2 | very impressive amount of art. The rythem game was very harsh on you and had in the scoring a tiny bit of lag so you had to press Z or X before the curve not on the curve. It was also hard so see the difference between a line that was in the middle or at the bottom after the line was at the top. |
| Apr 21 15:30:06 | 5h 56m | Goblin Adventure | ♥ 1 | Nice game, The idea of adding more time after every wave felt a bit off. maybe every wave should be the in game 15 minutes or in game 10 minutes would be even better |
| Apr 21 15:37:28 | 7m 22s | Defend Pangolin Eggs | ♥ 2 | Nice game worked great on linux. The icons in the buttons could have been a little bit more clean. for most buttons it was not directly clear what they would do until you already have pressed them once |
| Apr 21 16:02:36 | 25m 08s | Keeping SNES Alive! | ♥ 2 | Wow really nice, I never had heared about that PVSnesLib library. Im very new to the homebrew world and during this game jam I made my second game boy advance game ever. Apparently we had the same idea only my game is called "Keep the Gameboy alive". The source code of your game looks very much like mine from a first glance. I use Tonc, http://coranac.com/tonc/text/video.htm as a basis instead of PVSnesLib. So im devinely going to give that library you used a try, some day in the future. The source code of my code is available here if you are wondering or if you want to play it. https://github.com/timostrating/Ludumdare46 Specially the message that you got this done in 10 hours is very impressive btw. That just really shows that once you know what you are doing and understand how these old schools homebrew things work you can make things very quick. |
| Apr 21 16:08:09 | 5m 33s | Mama Birb | ♥ 1 | The loading of the game took very long. When i looked in the chrome console, it showed 5 times a 403 erro on some unity webplayer images, so maybe that has somehting to do with it or there are just many assets to load. But after the long loading time the game was great. |
| Apr 21 17:49:43 | 1h 41m | Magic Mirror Delivery Service | ♥ 3 | The intro was very nice. And once the game started the music was also very good. The only tip that I would like to give is that the levels 5,6 and 7 gave a strange feeling. In the mario games they always first introduce a new button or thing like level 5 or 6 after that, they give the player a challenge to test if he, she or it really understands the new thing. After a few levels they introduce a new thing like lvl 6. They challenge the player again and after that they start mixing everything together in one last level. |
| Apr 23 22:09:13 | 52h 19m | Fishy Escape | ♥ 0 | very simple nice game. But maybe you should have focused on moving the fish only once to the right. That way you way had some more time to make the first level look like the forest that is slowly transitioning to the beach. |
