Apr 23 11:53:31 Filthy Blockheads ♥ 1 I've just finised your game on second try. It took me 521 seconds. Here are my thoughts: * After some time on winning screen background starts flashing for about 1 min and then stops - this may be bad for epileptic people. It looks like bug. Maybe add a warning or something. * I like audio and visual feedback. Wobbling animation is cool * I also like that items in shop are hidden, so you have to discover what they are, however I still don't know what soldier and bomber do * To me it was a little too easy. Maybe increase enemies speed as game progresses. Maybe soldier and bomber increase difficulty? I didn't notice. Overall nice game you've made. I haven't noticed any bugs, just that one at the end with flashing screen. Cheers!
Apr 23 12:19:05 25m 34s Escape ♥ 1 Awesome game! I'm stuck at 2nd passcode aswell, but I'll get back to it later. If that's not a spoiler, can you tell me if by "after" and "before" you mean directly after and before or anywhere in that direction? Game looks very polished. I love text effects and music. It looks just like a retro game. There is a bug. After you run out of time and you try to start new game screen keeps shaking, text gets mixed and every time it moves you back to main screen. Nothing gamebreaking, reseting webpage solves it. Keep it up!
Apr 23 13:03:54 44m 49s Alien Holes ♥ 4 My top score is 2, but I think that I some shots I took should also be holes. Making a game with physics requires a lot of polish, so here are my suggestions for making it better: * I'm not sure why you didn't add forwards and backwards movement to camera. To move forwards I had to rotate 90 degrees and move sideways * Using normals on ball movement direction, like in pool, is nice, but without ability to adjust strike force it's really hard to move the ball in direction you want, especially on bumpy ground * As I wrote earlier, some balls came very close to hole without giving me point. As a player I will appreciate more if hole collider was a bit bigger than the hole itself. Better to give score when you shouldn't than not give it when you should :) * For some precission shots, it would be nice if you added some acceleration to camera movement. Just tapping left/right would move it only slightly making it easier to control shooting direction I'm sure you are aware of most of those, but 48 hours is flies by quickly and tweaking all values takes a lot of time. Nice game overall. I liked main menu design. Cheers!
Apr 23 13:43:38 39m 44s Piece of Paradise ♥ 1 1.png ;) Finished on third try. At first I didn't know how to chop trees and I died pretty quickly. Second try I tried to kill people so that I would loose less food and to my surprise it works, I like it :) On third try, after getting lots of wood, for some reason I couldn't chop trees anymore, so that might be a bug? It's a nice game, but if you added some sound effects it would feel much better.
Apr 23 14:03:38 20m 00s Beat Quest ♥ 1 10k top score, Yay! Really cool idea. If you added some more content and RPG elements I could see myself putting many hours into it. As a music noob I loved what you did with just few simple sounds. Later in the game when arrows start to move fast they jump a lot with each frame. I'm not sure if it's because of framerate or if it could be smoothed so that they don't "teleport" so much. Great game! Cheers!
Apr 23 14:38:11 34m 33s Candy crush your own adventure ♥ 1 Nice story. Beginning reminds me of Bukowski's "Pulp". I went for dynamite ending and finished with 5831 score. Did you write the story in 48 hours or wrote it earler?
Apr 23 15:13:31 35m 20s Jump and Draw ♥ 1 Nice idea for a game, well done! I've had problems on second level with enemy with key. Sometimes my attacks would not hit him and I was left with no key and no cards. I've only managed to hit him with golfballs from sky, but not always. Also one time a spear next to the same enemy spawned with wierd rotation and I couldn't dodge it. Other than that no bugs spotted. Keep up the good work! Cheers!
Apr 23 18:25:43 3h 12m Fish Master ♥ 1 Looks nice. Mechanics are done, now you just have to come up with a story and you have a nice classic pokemon parody game. If you put some effort into it this could be released. Too bad you didn't have more time to expand on this idea.
Apr 23 18:58:51 33m 08s Yet Another Turn Based Bullet Hell ♥ 1 You call that easy?! :D I've tried several levels and I couldn't finish single one. It's a cool idea, but I think that if you hand-picked a few nice levels instead of focusing on procedural generation it would be better for noob players as myself. However work put into making this game is amazing. It must have been a tiresome weekend for you. Great game and idea, no bugs that I've seen. Cheers!
Apr 23 19:12:18 13m 27s Moon Baller ♥ 1 With proper tweeking and some better graphics this could be a thing. Basketballs behave really nice. I've never used a physics material (or whatever it's called) in Unity. Is that how you accomplished that? It's bounciness is very pleasing. Adding some sounds would add a lot to the game. Also, I'm not an astronomer, but those burning spots on meteorites should be behind them, not in front, right? ;D
Apr 23 20:15:52 1h 03m Enter the Tower ♥ 1 Nice twist on modern text based rpg games. I wish you didn't swing that cursed blade in front of my face. I could really use that XP points :D Some sound effects would add a lot to the game. Also maybe a fast paced music to fit game tempo. But who am I kidding... Not enough time, right?
Apr 23 21:02:03 46m 11s Similize the Savages ♥ 1 For me this game has everything that game jam submission should have. There is original idea. There are cute matching graphics, also audio and visual feedback for everything you do. I like the twist at the end. It is a cleaver combination of genres I like. Solid entry!
Apr 23 21:19:24 17m 21s card game + war game ♥ 1 At first I didn't really know what I was doing and I won. Then when I thought I figured it out I lost. Now I'm winning, but I can't figure out how to get more cards than those I'm given at the start. How do I unlock/buy other cards?
Apr 23 21:38:31 19m 07s Roguelike Shmup ♥ 1 It took me a while to realize that it is a turn based game. It's a nice idea executed very well. Music fits graphics nicely and I like those little touches, like your character has a name and every time you enter a level it changes... Does it mean that finishing level means death?
Apr 23 22:05:05 26m 34s Rythm is Lava ♥ 1 Pretty hard to grasp, as those games tend to be, but after few tries every level was beatable. I just wish that it wouldn't sometimes bring me back to previous level. Graphics and animations look amazing. Sounds are simple, but fit well with game feel and look. It's a nice game and a nice idea. Cheers!
Apr 24 08:12:32 10h 07m Harvest Breakout ♥ 0 Great idea for a game! Here are my thoughts: * Adding some variety to ball bounce direction when hitting paddle would be nice. Either just randomize direction on collision or use ball distance to middle to determine bounce angle, or even combine both. This would add some control to player. * Purchasing additional tiles is a cool idea and it could be easly expanded upon. * What I liked about old breakout games when I played them was that ball speed would increase when hitting a surface, then slowly decrease to base speed. I enjoyed the game a lot. Some music would be nice though. Keep up the good work!
Apr 24 08:44:14 31m 42s Factower ♥ 1 So far it's the best use of the theme that I've seen. I love tower defense and crafting games, so combination of both works very well for me. At first I didn't know what to do, some information about controls would be nice. But after few tries I've managed to (barely) survive for long enough that infinite wave was a piece of cake. Here's a screenshot of my end game: 2.png Awesome game! I like how placing entities is very forgiving and it's snapping to grid very easly. Cheers!
Apr 24 10:13:11 1h 28m Realm of Platformers ♥ 0 A MMO game? Impressive! Unfortunatelly I have no friends so I got stuck at factory :/ But I enjoyed the game nontheless. On forrest level on left side of 2nd tree there is a spot on which you are falling on the ground and you can't jump. Just a minor bug. Also on forrest level, when I finished it gave me best score twice, with some small differences in time. I like the stickfigure animations. They look way better than mine ;) Good work!
Apr 24 10:25:31 12m 20s LD 41 - A Bite of Profits ♥ 1 That's some sweet music you got there! I couldn't use my Sires, it always said that I don't have any. I guess it wasn't implemented. I wish that the health bar would go down instead of always being all green. Biting would be much easier. Overall great job!
Apr 24 10:34:37 9m 06s Gender Circles ♥ 1 It took me a while to get used to controls, but in the end I think I've managed to get a decent score. 3.png Graphics are simple, but fit together very well. Font fits the sprites nicely. Cool idea for a game. Cheers!
Apr 24 12:24:55 1h 50m Secret Literature Service ♥ 0 Background looks amazing and I like the music, but as I was just getting into the story it ended. Too bad it's so short :/ Good work nontheless!
Apr 24 12:44:12 19m 17s Dungeon Pet ♥ 1 Levels look nice. I see that you spent a lot of time in blender :) A few minor issues: * there are no walls in pet area and you can just fall into infinity * food in dungeon sometimes spawns outside of dungeon making it impossible to collect * first time I played I could just pay attention to pet and happiness would grow, second time clicking button did nothing. Is that a bug, or maybe I'm missing something? And some really non-issues: * there is a torch in the dungeon, next to entrance to the right that I think should be on the wall, but it's just hanging in the air. * you have some Z-fighting where wall meets pillar Overall nice game. The music fits game mood nicely. Cheers!
Apr 24 13:03:04 18m 52s Life as a Lie ♥ 0 You've put a lot of effort into dialogues, nice! There are 2 major bugs that I saw: * pressing space not only makes you jump, but also does interaction, so when you jump next to grandpa you start talking to him * when leaving the store my character just started moving left and I couldn't stop him Other than that, I like the artwork , animations and scrolling text. Very solid first time entry. Great job!
Apr 24 13:16:25 13m 21s Carmagotchi ♥ 4 Cool idea but there is a major problem with the game that makes it unplayable: In the garage on the wall there is a Playboy magazine cover page. No one puts those on the wall. It should be a poster or a calendar. ;) My thoughts: * awesome music. Reminds me of some South Park episode... The one with cheap jewelery I believe. * while racing if you get 2 coins in the same row, one on the left and one on the right I don't think it's possible to pick up both. * costs are too high. I got 28$ for a race and I have to wait a lot for car to refuel. Too much waiting Other than that it's a great entry, especially if you started on sunday. Love that happy car with square wheels. Looks sweet :D
Apr 24 13:31:23 14m 58s Cloak Wars ♥ 0 Just finished it. Great game, feels complete. I like that you added a boss at the end and overall combat is great.
Apr 24 13:50:19 18m 56s MiniBattle ♥ 1 Great game for a first entry! I love the art style and animations. And leaving helmet next to grave after enemy death was an amazing idea. Turns are a little too fast for my taste. There are some issues, you may be aware of those, but I'll point them out anyway: * I couldn't change weapon to granade. It was as if button wasn't there. Maybe "EventSystems.EventSystem.IsPointerOverGameObject" would do the trick? * It took me few turns to realize that I had to aim backwards to shoot forwards. I don't know if it was intended or not, but bullets were also flying backwards. * sometimes I would get stuck and couldn't move in any direction on my turn, only shoot. 4.png I enjoyed it a lot. Cheers!
Apr 24 14:15:01 24m 42s Speed Phoning ♥ 0 It took me about 5 minutes to finish. I have forgot how to solve puzzles like that and the distraction was huge. One thing that was missing were some obstacles, like people. Not necessarily interrupting the car, but just getting hit and yelling something. That would add a lot of distraction. It's a very nice game. I had a lot of fun. Cheers!
Apr 24 14:32:23 17m 22s Scrolls ♥ 2 Awesome idea and a great game. All graphics look nice, but I liked void the most. Really fast paced game, maybe too fast in some places, but that can easly be tweaked. Music was good, but I would also like to have some feedback on hitting things. At first I thought that ghost could not be killed, but it was just that it had a lot of health. Great game, well fitting the theme. Cheers!
Apr 25 09:15:08 18h 42m Type it like Schumacher! ♥ 1 This is a game you don't see everyday. It's a nice idea, but I wish I could type with any speed and maybe use some shortcuts, like L for left or G2 for 2nd gear. I think I had a problem with gears. Sometimes in the upper part it would show, for example "gear 2", but when I wanted to change gear to 3 it told me that I was already at 3. Sometimes it would also change gears on it's own. In one race i just typed "gear 1" and at the end I was on gear 5. Great job! Cheers!
Apr 25 09:24:42 9m 34s Happy Hammer ♥ 1 Amazing game. Controls and hammer movement feel great and levels are designed well. Great job with those propelling arrows. No bugs that I've seen. Solid entry. Cheers!
Apr 28 23:15:32 85h 50m A Skeleton Story - Ludum Dare 41 ♥ 1 Alright, so... First impression before I even play your game. It's amazing how much effort and care you have put into it. Everything is explained clearly, there are nice images and emoji which I CAN PASTE TO GOOGLE (sorry, I'm a dinosaur, but how does that work, really?!). LOVELY! Now I have downloaded your game. I am welcomed by an adorable art and music, but before playing I want to know "How to" play. After reading controls I automaticly move to the last option to go back to main menu. It is Quit. Why? Do you want me to quit the game after reading controls or credits? As a game maker I appreciate the effort you have put into adding those additional options, but as a player I want the easiest way to get to know your game and experience it. And if I were you I'd like to push players into playing my game instead of quitting it, right? ;) Now that I played your game all I can say is: I wish there was more. You have basic mechanics done pertecly. Walljumping feels great. Story-wise, this is just the beginning, but a rebel undead... This could be interesting. And as I said before, music fits the art so nicely and I got into it so deep that I hope I'll hear more from you.
Apr 28 23:38:23 22m 51s Flatformer ♥ 1 As a programmer myself I appreciate the complexity of this game. Procedural generation alone is very ambitious, but implementation feels balanced. And even though it must have taken a large chunk of your time, there are no bugs that I have encountered. UI is very simple, but it explains everything clearly. I didn't have to guess or test how anything works. Art and explanation were clear enough for me to jump right into the game. I enjoyed it a lot and I hope to to see more from you. Cheers!
Apr 30 21:41:25 46h 03m Tactical Hydra ♥ 1 A drifting turn-based physics space shooter game... You nailed the theme :) I really enjoyed your game. Mechanics are very well thought and polished. At first I tried to play on hadrest mode, but failed miserably with only one head slain. Then like a casual I am I went for easiest option. I was not easy either. I took me good few tries to finish the game. But it was so good that I couldn't stop playing until I won and eventually I did. It's a simple, but addictive game. Well done! Only complaint I have is that I had to restart the game whenever I died. Or maybe it's just 0.9 version I played? I see that there is 1.1 already. Also I applaud the effort put into game description. Keep it up! Cheers!
Apr 30 22:00:01 18m 36s Eyes on the Prize ♥ 2 First things first. Congrats on your first game entry! It is lovely! Not being able to finish everything you have in plans is totally normal, that's why it's important to start small, finish it and then think how you can expand on that. Game seems very ambitious. There's lots of art, no bugs that I have seen and the gameplay is well thought. Where the game is lacking is some sort of balance. I played by myself and couldn't keep up with all those skulls spawning. They are very tanky for one person to kill. After one death I was just swarmed by wormeyes and couldn't do much. Maybe adding some limit to maximum enemies or adjusting spawning rate depending on how many players are on would work and not require much additional time and effort? Also... after a few deaths I realized that your game supports and probably should be played with a gamepad. It would be nice if you included some information in description or the game about that ;) Overall it's a very solid first entry and I hope to see you next time around! Cheers!
Apr 30 22:25:20 25m 19s Crafty ♥ 0 I really wanted to get to items you showed in your video, but every time i try to to one of my items gets stuck between inventory and crafting, like so: 5.png I wish there was some music in the background, but overall I enjoyed the game, as far as I managed to get through. Other than that I would like to thank you for your videos. They are very well made and on point. Also I'd like to thank you for UPA Toolkit. I used it in this LDjam and it sped up my sprites making a lot. Thanks and Cheers!
May 1 11:16:22 12h 51m Jungle Rumble ♥ 1 The scene looks very nice and seeing the gorilla standing there, getting closer is kind of terrifying. It would be great if there was some music. Textures are great and I got sucked into the game. Great entry.
