Dec 4 15:15:55 Leaf Me Alone ♥ 0 Got 106 Personal High Score, and 43 on the leaves side. I really liked the idea of the game. Also the art and sound is great too! However it is really hard to push leaves outside the frame because of how fast the angry farmer moves. The moving background also makes it a bit more charming, so thumbs up for that!
Dec 4 15:27:18 11m 23s Wild Surge ♥ 0 I think for your first entry that's a pretty good game all around! Has everything going for it. I especially liked the idea though, because I've not seen something like that before. I also encounterd your moving bug. It is also happening sometimes when you jump near walls (it saved me once! :D). I got 2 crystals and when I advanced to the bottom of the map with the poison sea i died. It felt really frustrating to start all over again without any checkpoints (i thought those big crystals were checkpoints at first). However it's a solid entry and art, sound and idea are very well put together! If you wouldn't mind please also check out my game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/just-another-space-game
Dec 4 15:38:47 11m 29s Scissor Lift ♥ 1 I got to level 2 until my game bugged I think. I collected the right box, moved over to left and wanted to let Jim out and take the other box. He slowly started wandering towards the platform and stand still when he reached it. I thought he would take the box if I go to the other side but it seems like Jim quit his Job :(. Some points about your game: I really liked the menu and the concept that you could indirectly command jim. The art was also ok (the word art on the banner in the background was funny :D) I think having the arrow keys for moving the lift would be a nice addition. Also holy shit was the music loud it blew even my neighbors away. Also I don't really see how the theme fits the game (maybe more boxes make the lift unstable?) I think it's still a neat entry because I liked the idea of the mechanics of the game. If you don't mind please also check out my game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/just-another-space-game
Dec 4 15:55:57 17m 10s The Gravedigger ♥ 0 Wow I got to go to the Bahamas wohoooooo!!! Ok wow am I actually really surprised by this game. When the tutorial came up, there were many writing errors and I thought "oh boy, that's gonna be a bad game". But wow the game proved me wrong. While I didn't try out the shotgun I think the shooting felt quite good and I had fun killing those undead! The variation with big zombies was also good. But what I really liked was the round-to-round approach where you have to select a mission every day and then you can play another round. Made it feel like some kind of zombie mode (it kinda is huh?:D) Also very interstingly we both have the same idea for the theme implementation where after more time passes more enemies will come. Cool! Some things I think you could improve on: Having to use the mouse to select between night and the dealer was kind of a struggle. It would have been nice to have a menu popup when you press a certain key near the gate I think. Also my mouse keeps going out of the fullscreen window, don't know if this is your bug or unity but it was also annoying. Other than that great game, I really liked it! If you don't mind please check out my game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/just-another-space-game
Dec 4 16:09:48 13m 51s Far Field ♥ 1 Wow that was a really intersting concept. First I didn't know how to to anything and randomly clicked everywhere. First "wow" moment when I clicked the cube. The puzzles were ok, it was more like get them in the right position so your jump doesn't cancel while jumping against a wall. I really really liked the distortion (?) effect that happens when you release other cubes out of their static state, really really cool. I got to the green cubes and then I didn't know how to advance since I couldn't get any more over with me. Also having the cubes go wild after not interacting with them is really crazy, but in a good way :) If you don't mind check out my game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/just-another-space-game
Dec 4 16:20:03 10m 15s Escape ♥ 0 Really liked that gravity aspect of your game. Also the soundeffect of launching this thingy into orbit was quite cute, and the menu music was really good actually. Pretty neat little game I must say :)
Dec 4 16:31:29 11m 26s Superhero Problems ♥ 0 Starting the .exe made my PC freeze which was not so cool. But it got itself under control after a few seconds. The game itself was really good and polished. I'am really surprised by the amount of content. Many "bosses" and also great level of detail. (I loved that the railway could get destroyed and the trains would fall down then, very nice) Also, did you draw that Donkey Kong yourself? Looked like the real deal lol. Nice Half life reference also. Don't have anything bad to say but the freeze at the beginning. Good job! If you don't mind check out my game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/just-another-space-game
Dec 4 16:40:24 8m 55s Growing Earth ♥ 1 Highscore 15717 What an easy but freaking cool game! At the beginning I thought it was quite fast and easy to dodge some of the bigger planets so you don't get eaten, but after reaching ~8000 you begin to feel really the mass of the planet and dodging becomes really hard. When a planet infront of me got bigger then me I just shouted "no nonon ononoon" haha. Sounds more dramatic then it actually was probably but it was fun anyways! I think to further expand on the gameplay you could introduce objects like blackholes or suns which maybe transport you to a different location or change the type of planet/star you are. Still very good entry, I enjoyed it! (The music was actually kinda good, even though it blew my headphones away at the beginning) If you don't mind check also out my game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/just-another-space-game
Dec 4 16:49:25 9m 01s Corporate Ladder ♥ 0 I think the idea behind this game is pretty good and I also liked the simple but clean art. However the repeatingly clicking gets old pretty fast. Would have wished that you get to do something else after a promotion? It's pretty hard to come up with something that doesn't take up too much time to implement and that is still fun to play I guess. Still good work on your side! (Also not going to work the whole time should get you punished haha)
Dec 6 15:29:04 46h 39m Game of Virus ♥ 1 I always liked Game of Life and I think you did a great job of combining the GoL with some playable elements while also keeping the theme. I needed 306seconds to win and found it pretty cool that there were different stages to the virus. (keeps growing until isolated then your eradicate it). Good job!
Dec 6 15:38:52 9m 48s Worse! ♥ 0 Wow that was some of the more interesting theme implementations I played. I got 51 points and I think around 50? my window just resized to window mode (from fullscreen). I wondered why my flashlight got blurrier and the sounds more bit-likey until I read your description again :D I actually was kinda creeped out because of the sounds and the feel of something/someone behind you. I was a little less scared when I saw the guys following me, they looked kinda fun then creepy. Still, a really good theme implementation and the mood was also superb! If you don't mind please check out my game too: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/just-another-space-game
Dec 6 15:45:45 6m 53s Glitched ♥ 1 Great idea, and I also think the implementation was quite strong with this one! When you enter the third level and the tiles get all numbered was really cool. It still felt like a level and was fun to walk through. I wished there was more of a challenge then some parcour and jumping over bad guys. However still very cool game, and incredible that you done all those effects in such a short time.
Dec 6 16:14:01 28m 16s Immune Invasion ♥ 1 Interesting idea I must say. I thought you would change the layout of the different stages but instead you changed the virus we have to fight, very clever. Also them having different "attributes" was really cool. The purple ones seemed to clinge to the walls while the last bacteria was sliding through the blood cells. Really liked it, Good job!
Dec 6 23:39:45 7h 25m 2D Pixel Shooter ♥ 1 I actually liked the format and that you could also shoot diagonally. Also it seems (from the choppy framerate) that you programmed this completely by yourself? Very impressive and takes me back to my days where I also programmed games in Java :D Anyhow, nice little game and nice implementation of theme!
Dec 6 23:45:44 5m 59s A Spark of Light ♥ 1 The light gets really really bright at around 11, so I kinda didn't see the map anymore haha. Very simplistic game, but I like the implementation of the theme here! I survived for 92 seconds and had 7 lightmasses at the end :)
Dec 6 23:55:06 9m 22s Cosmiring ♥ 1 This game is pretty huge huh? I got down to 6 thingys left until I died. Those traps get really nasty, makes it definitely a lot more challenging then just some jumping/parcour stuff. I think it's a really solid entry and I liked how fluid the game played. The integration of the theme is also the main premise of the game which is nice! One thing that you should definitely should look into is the sound. After I got to 6 thingys left I activated the traps which shoot round circles. And they are so fucking loud, I think I woke up my whole neighborhood lol. Otherwise great game!
Dec 7 00:01:36 6m 30s CoinCase (Ludum Dare 40) ♥ 1 Obviously there is a lack of gameplay / things to do because picking up coins and rolling around just doesn't cut it that much anymore... But I actually liked the idea of the ball getting slower. With more things to do where you could possibly lose some HP (rolling down a parcour track or a hill) would increase replay value by tons. Also why is the camera not rotatable? I think you could have had a nice rotation going there.. Oh and also, the way your rock moves is pretty satisfying IMO. Keep it up!
Dec 7 00:07:29 5m 53s All-You-Can-Loot Cavern ♥ 1 Great theme idea and integration into the game! At first I wondered why I didn't get any points... Then I realized I discarded all the gold... Haha The variety of weapons and enemies (!) makes it actually a pretty fun experience. I also liked the kind of 2d integration into the game. Like when you kill an enemy they will die with a 2d scythe animation thingy? very cool. Keep it up, good entry!
Dec 7 17:31:32 17h 24m Apokalipsa ♥ 1 Neat game idea! Something different from the vast majority of games being kind of 2d-3d platformers. Has some nice strategic touches so you can't actually press enter all the time and expect to win hehe music was chill and the art style was also its own class. Nice entry!
Dec 7 17:41:48 10m 16s Cohesion ♥ 1 I got stuck at level 15, guess my brain could not handle those cubes anymore lol. The music is pretty chilly, the puzzles ranged from easy to unsolvable(in my case :D). But honestly, they were quite good and judging by the comments there are atleast 23 which is nice. I think this game could do well on mobile devices since it has easy controls and an intuitive game idea. Good job!
Dec 7 18:07:55 26m 07s Real Inc. ♥ 0 Nice little space trading shooting game! I wished you could move the spaceship with A/D because dodging is really hard. However the idea and translation into this game is pretty good IMO. Also the variety of the enemy was a good addition! Keep it up!
Dec 7 18:18:38 10m 43s Graveyard Shift ♥ 1 The moment you walk into the coins and realize you are so freaking slow haha I wished the different color of the enemy would indicate how much they would endure instead they all semeed to be of equal health? I really liked the shooting though, was fun and fast. Sounds were also good and the integration of the theme was also there. All in all, solid entry!
Dec 7 18:25:11 6m 33s Chaos Space Kitchen ♥ 0 Let me start by saying that those graphics were really good, I really liked them. The music also adds to the game, fun but not annoying. The gameplay itself was ok. I don't know why you can't throw the food into a specific direction but instead throws randomly? Still filling the cooking pot just in time feels satisfying. All in all, good game!
