| Apr 26 18:10:09 | Slightly Angry Max | ♥ 4 | I'm impressed for your first ludum dare, well done! I found the intro really funny! :D As other have already have said, the player is a bit too slow, but once you get used to it, it isn't that bad. Sometimes I felt like I was too slow to dodge the bullets, so that's the only real problem there. I also think the overheating was a bit too frequent, as I felt like I couldn't clear the enemies fast enough. That might just me being bad at the game though x) Even though you didn't make the graphics or the music, they fit well and the whole game feels overall well put together. If you give the overall gameplay some work and add some extra juice to it, I think it could be really cool. Once again, very well done! Keep it up! | |
| Apr 26 18:33:13 | 23m 04s | Space Travel 15 | ♥ 2 | Nice! The whole planet thing was cool visually, but felt awkward to scroll around. Therefore I love that you made it so you click the airports on the side directly! As others have said the it's cool how you have to plan ahead, and the upgrade system is very nice! If you add more to this game it could turn into something really fresh, since the whole concept feels very innovative. The graphics for the planet could use some more work, but it's not bad either. I like the UFO. Graphically I like the UI, but it might be possible to improve how it works like others have said. Well done! |
| Apr 26 19:14:47 | 41m 34s | Johi Farm | ♥ 3 | Congratz on finishing your first ludum dare, I'm impressed! Your game made me smile :D The graphics are nice and the characters are really cute! The gameplay idea is cool and feels fresh, I like how you have to manage multiple things at once. There's something very satisfying about moving the water thing and letting it fill. The music fits well, and the sound effects are good. If you keep working on this, I'd love to play it again! Keep up the good work! |
| Apr 26 20:10:45 | 55m 58s | tinyarena | ♥ 0 | Very very nice, as always! I played the levels, lost once or twice. No big deal, I'd soon be finished, I told myself. After 10+ (20+? 30+? 200?) tries at level 13, I give up. I admit it, the AI is better than me. I am just a mere, replacable human after all. It would be nice if the mouse was locked to the window, or that you could toggle it. Thanks for making this game, and keep up all the good work! |
| Apr 26 20:35:58 | 25m 13s | Tumblin' down | ♥ 1 | It's a cool idea, but I was unsure what my actual objective was. I captured all the points, killed my guys, made the red guys almost extinct, but nothing hinted that I was winning in any way. The enemies have to be stronger too, since I just demolished them after a couple of minutes of playing. The idea of a RTS game with a changing map is cool, and what you have here is interesting. If you make it more clear what the player is supposed to do, and add some kind of progression, I think this could be a fun game! |
| Apr 27 15:02:37 | 18h 26m | Diminishing Lands | ♥ 2 | At first, I found the player a bit too "floaty" in the movement, but once I got used to it I realised it really fits the game. The concept is cool, and the overall execution is good. I like the graphics and music. It could use a bit more gameplay like others have said, but the gameplay that's here is good. Sometimes the spawns felt a bit unfair, as I had no time to move to a safe area after dying. Other than that I found no bigger problems with the game. Well done! |
| Apr 27 15:14:31 | 11m 54s | Dot | ♥ 1 | The game reminds me of this old arcade game I can't remember the name of. I like the retro graphics and music! The gameplay was fun, but could use something more to it. The game felt polished overall, and I really liked the "story" and ending. Well done! :D |
| Apr 27 15:37:54 | 23m 23s | Globe Trot | ♥ 4 | The whole neon style was really cool, and the music was really fitting. As others have said, the camera got very disorienting, but other than that there was nothing wrong with the gameplay. The whole concept of playing around a small planet is cool. Well done! |
| Apr 27 16:43:47 | 1h 05m | Afterbirth | ♥ 1 | The concept is funny and reminds me of the binding of isaac. If you gave the gameplay more variety, and let you play further after escaping it could turn into a really cool game. Well done! |
| Apr 27 17:25:39 | 41m 52s | You Are World. | ♥ 0 | The gameplay was abstract and simple, but it felt intended and was pretty nice. The graphics were good, and the game felt very ambient and the overall mood was nice. Well done! |
| Apr 27 17:35:38 | 9m 59s | Cobra Caliber 2: There Can Only Be One More | ♥ 1 | It seems like you have a lot of gameplay here, and the graphics are nice. The sound was great. The enemies shot a bit to many bullets, and the respawning was a bit awkward. It was also hard to see the walls and objects you could collide with. Apart from that, the game was really cool. Well done! |
| May 1 12:18:54 | 90h 43m | Chill Bill | ♥ 2 | Graphics, effects and sound all felt very polished and fit well together. I loved the artstyle. The difficulty ramp was pretty good, but after a while the farts got out of hand and they were almost impossible to dodge. It was understandable and maybe a good thing though. I loved all the small details. Overall a very solid entry, well done! My highscore was 3227 :D |
| May 1 14:05:42 | 1h 46m | This World Of Mine | ♥ 1 | Cute game! The graphics are pretty nice, but it could use some more sound and music. I love the stretch effect on the cat when you move around. I also noticed the bug where you can't "roar" anymore, and the guy just stands still. Over all well done, keep it up! |
| May 1 14:26:02 | 20m 20s | This is Cutopia | ♥ 1 | I think you agree that sound would've been nice, but it's understandable that it'd be left out in a jam. The car felt a bit too unresponsive, but I still liked that you didn't turn instantly. The sliding made it fun to time your shots. Some said that the aiming was weird, but I liked that it was fixed. I would've liked the pointers towards the enemies to just be on the left and right side of the screen, but it's great that they are there (this is something my game is missing..) The graphics are great, and the game feels well put together overall. I wish the game would've gone on instead of ending before all bunnies were abducted, but I understand the camping problems that would come with that. Smart solution to that problem! :D The highscore was a good idea, but I won't be taking it into mind when rating the game. Well done, I enjoyed playing this! |
| May 1 18:53:12 | 4h 27m | Naarrow | ♥ 4 | Reminds me of VVVVVV. The whole graphics style isn't bad, but the player sprite could use some work. Music was great and played a big part in the general mood. Together with the almost repeating levels, it created gave me an eerie feeling. It's really cool how much you seem to have gotten in here during the compo, this could've been a pretty big project for many people. The level design and the powerups are cool, but the movement felt a bit clunky and awkward. I had a hard time executing the movement I wanted, and especially moving upwards through 1 unit wide gaps was pretty hard. Overall the movement was okay though. **possible spoiler alert:** The first spikes and booster puzzle was a bit confusing. At first I thought I just was just supposed to dash and jump, on the boosters, but I couldn't get it right. After a while I realized that I could get hit by the bouncing cube, and then walk over the spikes. Intended or not, this was really cool, but confusing since the booster and dashing combo hadn't been used earlier. If it was intended, I recommend letting the player use the dash on a booster in a similar way before this puzzle to learn how it works. If it wasn't intended, I recommend making the gap a bit shorter and forgiving. **end of spoiler** The respawning felt fair, but I gave up in the room with the repeated dashing across the spikes. Playing your game was an overall great experience. With some more work, and some innovating touch (maybe there was one I didn't get to?) this could be a great product. Very impressive work for the compo, keep up the good work! |
| May 1 19:11:31 | 18m 19s | Karma is a Bitch | ♥ 1 | Music and sounds would've been nice, but it's understandable that they would be cut in a jam. My game is missing music. The concept is cool, and it's pretty well executed. Dying sometimes felt a bit unfair, but it wasn't too much of a problem. Well done! |
| May 1 19:29:34 | 18m 03s | Mind's Eye | ♥ 1 | This is a very cool and innovative idea, I like it! The execution is good; the graphics are pretty cool, the music and sound fits well and the gameplay is overall nice. My only complaint is the speed of the game, because I felt like the difficulty ramp was too slow in the start. Well done! |
| May 7 07:58:53 | 132h 29m | Lab 493 | ♥ 1 | Simple but fun, nice graphics and music. The only thing I thought about was the timer, it doesn't really have to show split seconds, but that is really not a problem. Well done for 10 hours! :D |
| May 7 08:17:02 | 18m 09s | Timeless | ♥ 1 | Wow nicee! The graphics are good, music is super good, and the general gameplay feels very nice. The whole game feels well put together and was fun all the way through. The only problem I had was that it was really difficult to time travel into small spaces. I'd give the player a bit more margin for error, maybe you could just make the small spaces a bit bigger. I liked the different twists, and the levels were always just difficult enough. Well done, keep it up! |
| May 7 10:27:03 | 2h 10m | Signal? | ♥ 1 | Woaw I love the shader stuff. It was fun to figure out the puzzles, but I wish I had gotten more things to shoot at. The level design was fun! Well done! :D |
