Aug 25 17:13:00 Connect Despite not being finished, I thought it was fun. Cool music and atmosphere. I think it would be fun place more emphasis on resource management than speed.
I hit a bug after my first game where restarting a new game from the menu created an unresponsive game. I had to refresh the page to start over. This is on Mac/Chrome.
Aug 25 17:22:00 9m 00s Linked Planets Hello! Sometimes level 3 seems to auto-fail before I even make a move. I do like how there's some strategy to your line placements as the game becomes more complicated. The meteors feel a little too random. Sometimes they make the level nearly unbeatable, while other times they stay completely out of your way just based on luck. I really like the planet art!
Aug 25 17:27:00 5m 00s Sun Saviors I like the inclusion of a co-op mode. I have to say, the laser sound got a bit grating after a while. But the game felt well balanced in terms of the pace of enemies vs the player's firepower.
Aug 25 17:32:00 5m 00s Dagger Dash Cool look, feel, and sound! And yikes, that's pretty hard! The slide feels a bit unresponsive at times, like I'd hit it in time but would still die. Also, the character feels too far forward on the screen so I can't see obstacles soon enough - especially after teleporting! Besides that though I thought it was quite enjoyable. I quit a little sooner than I would have due to difficulty.
Aug 25 17:41:00 9m 00s Boulder Toss Very nice! Great mood, the graphics are really cohesive, immersive and beautiful. I liked the acoustic guitar as well, though I missed sound effects for the boulders and jumping/landing. It's perhaps a bit hard or slow - one mess up and you have to restart the whole game. A little longer range on bolder pickup would be helpful. It started to feel like 'work' by the third platform, and I gave up when I lost a bolder to the abyss there two games in a row. Overall, minor critiques to a quality production. Thank you for the game!
Aug 25 18:09:00 28m 00s Solar System Hero High barrier to entry for sure! It seems like there's a really interesting and well thought out game in there, but I can't figure out how to get at it. And in-game tutorial would be well suited for this type of interface (obviously that's asking a lot in 48 hours). I really like where this is headed, but I mimic the other comments that it needs to be easier to access.
Aug 25 18:23:00 14m 00s Polaris Imperius Pollux Epsilon Really terrific . . . I said out loud, "ooh, this is cool" within a few seconds of playing. Love the smooth controls and polish you were able to add in 48 hours. Great mechanic with using the enemy corpses as a resource to build. This is my first 5 star overall rating. Thanks for the great game!
Aug 25 18:27:00 4m 00s Skyland - A Disconnected World Very nice! I like the premise, and the airship character the player controls moves in a very cool way. I liked the keyboard controls (as opposed to easy-mode mouse aiming), but found they didn't react how I expected. That was my only knock on an otherwise fun experience!
Aug 25 18:37:00 10m 00s Growing star Very beautiful experience. The awesome mood kept me interested through the learning curve. This was the most immersive game I've played yet from this jam. One note, I did have the unity web player crash about 7 minutes into the game. Besides that, I really enjoyed my experience with this game. Thank you!
Aug 25 19:42:00 1h 05m Interstellar Wreckers Enjoyed the moments of destruction! It's fun to play with the physics. The controls were too touchy for my taste, and I spent most of my time trying to wrangle my ship/planet into the right direction . . . but perhaps I just suck? Anyway, enjoyable game. I didn't make it as far as I'd like, but it was fun!
Aug 25 19:48:00 6m 00s Glue The World Very nice! 5 stars for innovation, for sure. I love that the game has two 'modes', the building phase and the platformer phase. It did become a little too easy when I realized I can withdraw 'glued' blocks from the screen entirely and wait for solo blocks to float into good positions without any fear of danger. Very enjoyable though. Great creativity. One of the better games I've seen here.
Aug 25 19:56:00 8m 00s The Tree Absolutely terrific. I'd love to play a longer version (not something I've said after most of the games I've tried). Let me know if you ever make a continuation: @sdothaney on twitter. The difficulty was almost too high at first, but after I beat down the magma beast I was able to use his power to take down the others. Great job!
Aug 25 20:04:00 8m 00s Phaze Great mood/feel. I see a lot of potential, though it obviously needs work to be a complete piece! I didn't read your description before I played, so I was wondering what this huge blue wall was at the end. Anyway, you've created a really nice game world and I'd like to see more.
Aug 25 20:14:00 10m 00s Pocket Really nice mood... relaxing, fun, I could spend a lot of time playing this game. One thing is that I am a bit confused about the placement of buildings: https://www.dropbox.com/s/x1wn6xawo5dh88i/warpgate.jpg?dl=0
On the first planet I placed mines on the planet and the space station outside... the second planet I had to place them the other way around? Which doesn't look quite right. Also, it would be cool to show the buildings cost underneath the buttons.

Great atmosphere though, I'd love to see more.
Aug 25 20:17:00 3m 00s The Purgatory 5 souls saved, heaven here I come. I liked the game world and the mood a lot. Also, it was good that the level had me interact in several different ways, and also involved some good platform jumping. Nice entry!
Aug 25 20:26:00 9m 00s Astro Tycoon Whoa - very ambitious game! I loved the depth and complexity. The mood could really benefit from some sound, but I'm sure you were quite busy making all the moving parts. I ran into a few bugs, like my planets list at the bottom getting stuck open, which would then cause it to toggled closed when I needed it. But I could restart the process and it would work fine. Overall, nice work! Definitely some beautiful potential.
Aug 25 20:32:00 6m 00s Elemental Connection Very engaging... I played it longer than I expected. It took me a second to figure out to drag - I'm using a touchpad so it wasn't an intuitive thing to try. Some simple relaxing sound could help the mood, but overall I really enjoyed it.
Aug 25 20:34:00 2m 00s Heart Earth Hi, I'm not on Windows so I can't play your game, but it looks very interesting from the screenshots. I just wanted to say thanks for the review on Starlight. Keep up the good work!
Aug 25 20:36:00 2m 00s Connected on the run... Web link is 404ing, just fyi
Aug 25 20:46:00 10m 00s Trust Music One of my favorites so far - 5 stars. Really loved the concept and execution. Great chord sounds. The walking sound eventually got old, though I liked it at first. The only other thing was I wished my eyes would close faster! When I was switching back and forth rapidly it felt like a lot of waiting. But those are minor critiques to an otherwise awesome entry. I'm proud to say I beat it!
Aug 25 20:50:00 4m 00s Rebel Commander Fun to play! I'm a bit too bold with my commander, it seems. Is there a way to move your troops without leading with the commander? I really liked the way my army grew as I went. It felt fun to add to my force.
Aug 25 20:57:00 7m 00s World of Joy Very nice entry, well polished. I couldn't seem to beat the 'touch leaves' level, no matter what I did, but I'm sure I'm missing something. This has a nice feel to it, and I came away smiling.
Aug 25 22:53:00 1h 56m World Absorber Wow - absolutely terrific concept. The controls and mechanics are difficult to learn, as noted. Providing a solution for the first level helped a lot. I'm glad I spent the time to learn, as it's actually a very rewarding game!

I'm stuck on the first level with 4 worlds. Oh well - I'm sure I'll figure it out.

One critique is that when there are three worlds, the solution to room 1 is often the same as the solution to room 2. Perhaps that's remedied when there's 4 worlds. I'll keep trying to beat this level and find out ;)
Aug 25 23:01:00 8m 00s Planet Escape Awesome! Really fun take on asteroids. Some small changes that might make a big difference: the left/right turning feels a little oversensitive. Also, the camera wigged out on me once or twice. Sometimes the game gets so dark it's kind of hard to see.

I loved the music, very solid mood to the game. I think with a little polish you could have something special!
Aug 25 23:06:00 5m 00s HyperGate Pretty cool concept here. It looks like the scope is much larger than 48 hours, but it's a good start, and looks like it could be a deep game.

I really want to be able to select multiple units at once. Not being able to do so makes it feel like a lot of work to control my army.

Anyway, nice start! I can definitely see the potential. I'm glad you submitted.
Aug 25 23:10:00 4m 00s Burger Beat Great creativity! The difficulty is a bit too high for my taste, but that might be my own problem :P I liked the game a lot, but couldn't advance far enough to "get into the rhythm", so to speak.
Aug 26 00:06:00 56m 00s Peak Beautiful music, very relaxing to play. I forgot that I could make him stop for a while, and that made the game very difficult ;) After that, I was doing a bit better, but it still felt awkward at times. Also, if you stop during a jump you fall to your death! I guess that makes sense, altho I expected it to work more like a pause or time freeze.

I really like the concept and the mood of the game. Good work!
Aug 26 00:12:00 6m 00s Sleep It's refreshing to get something different. I thought the story and the colors set the mood well, and I liked the touches like the laptop with the slightly difference interface. I can definitely see the effort and emotion that went into this. Thanks for sharing it.
Aug 26 00:53:00 41m 00s Burning Worlds 21 seconds! And that's as far as I'm going to get on this trackpad. That was definitely enjoyable. Good work keeping the scope in check and executing beautifully. Obviously not the deepest game in the world, but I liked it!
Aug 26 01:02:00 9m 00s Invertigo Oh man - I really wanted to see the end of this game, but it was just too difficult. And not in a rewarding, "I finally did it!" kind of way, but more of a "o.m.g., it won't do what I want it to do" way. I think it's a beautiful game, but I really want more responsive controls.

Also, I thought the sound was at odds with the graphics. The graphics are beautiful and moody and the sound is just a completely different style.

I hope my critiques are not too direct - it's only because this game inspired me greatly with its potential! Thank you for sharing, I really did enjoy what I saw.
Aug 26 01:08:00 6m 00s Music Race to the Moon Very solid. Proof that games don't need to be overly complicated to be fun. I definitely like the art style, frantic gameplay and the mood. If I had to add a critique, I thought the sound could actually add more than it did, but obviously there's only so much time. Very fun and uplifting! Good work!
Aug 26 01:19:00 11m 00s Lux in Tenebris Very beautiful experience. The music is tops, and really sets the tone.

One note, I've been exploring on the second level for some time, and the menu with resume, restart, and quit popped up out of nowhere. I can't click resume (every time I try, it fires a light ball off into the distance). Restart worked, but I obviously didn't want to do that.

Really cool experience and setting. I think it's a great proof of concept that you could turn into a polished, larger game.
Aug 26 01:30:00 11m 00s RacerrAcerworlD Hahaha, that is quite the experience. I seem to have run into a couple issues requiring browser reload, though.

1 - Ack, I'm stuck in the wall at turn 1!!! Is that supposed to happen? I forgot to turn and slammed halfway through it.

2 - Uh oh... I've fallen off and I'm not respawning, even though I'm still in the car.

3 - My cursor keeps escaping unity web player and going onto other windows (not sure this is something you can control or just how unity web player works)

Great concept, art, and sound, really creates the fun and excitement. I'd love to see slightly tighter controls. I found myself going reaaaally slowly around turns, which kind of kills the fun. But I simply die too quickly if I go all out. But high marks for all of the creative aspects. Thanks for sharing it.
Aug 26 01:38:00 8m 00s Space Conquest Hello - the world you've built seems really cool. I think this could be a really enjoyable game, but I can't figure out how the controls work. I don't know what the icons mean on the 6 buttons, and none of them seem to do anything, at least fast enough for me to tell which button did what. Two of the buttons even seem to have the same icon (the circular thing).

Perhaps adding some mouseover text to the buttons could make it more clear. Or some indicator that clicking a button is causing something else to happen. They're obviously doing something, since no ships pop out if I don't click anything.

Anyway, I see a lot of potential here. I hope you keep working on it.
Aug 26 01:48:00 10m 00s Starcular Great polish and creativity. The art and sound really complimented each other. The mechanics of the gameplay are cool too, with the changing worlds going in and out of phase.

My only critique is that it can feel a little sluggish - waiting for worlds to change combined with the sort-of slower character move speed and muggy jumpability. On the other hand, I liked that there was some strategy involved. I like the idea of slowing down to plan your strategy combined with executing twitchy jumping.

In any case, I thought it was very polished and solid overall.
Aug 26 02:01:00 13m 00s WORLDS 2D Hello, I'm not on Windows so I can't play, but I wanted to say thank you for the detailed comment you left on Starlight. I like your game's concept, I wish I could install it.
Aug 26 02:08:00 7m 00s Hitchhike World I really enjoyed this. The music and the art . . . it's oddly relaxing to play it. The bird splat noise is hilarious. It's not a very deep game, obviously, but everything that's here is beautiful. I especially like the art on the 'worlds' .
Aug 26 02:11:00 3m 00s Starlight Hi guys, my game is also named Starlight! I like your taste in names! I'm on OSX 10.9.4 and I can't run the Mac download. I get the .app file and I can see your cool icon, but nothing happens when I open it. Any ideas?
Aug 26 02:17:00 6m 00s Star-crossed lovers Absolutely great execution here... love the art, sound, and story. I made four little babies! I wasn't sure what to do on the last stage, or I definitely could've been 'busier'.

The game I made is also about connecting two planets in a love match! Although, a bit more indirectly.

Pretty clever implementation here. High marks all around. Thanks for the fun!
Aug 26 03:32:00 1h 15m CosmicCom: Connecting Worlds Aaaah, my poor fingahs. I played that for a lot longer than I meant!

Well done balance and execution, although I felt like a rat on a wheel after a while. Still, I enjoyed myself.
Aug 26 04:04:00 32m 00s Cohack Terrific! The polish is great... art and sound compliment so well. Execution here is some of the best I've seen in LD30.

One issue... it's down to 2 of my purple cannons vs 1 enemy cannon... and I can't fire on him! I can actually move through him, which I don't think is supposed to happen either. No matter what I do, there's no option to kill this last guy. I'm refusing to close my browser window and admit defeat so I'm just staring angrily at the enemy, hoping he'll die off on his own.

Am I missing something? I really wanted to see what would happen when I won.

In any case, I think you made a really solid game and I enjoyed playing it . . . even if I can't achieve a victory condition.
Aug 26 04:18:00 14m 00s Spacewatch Very enjoyable. I really liked the core mechanic of the languages and finding matches. Sometimes it seemed that it was impossible to find matches close enough to the planet to save it? But it's very possible that's just me being bad :P

Definitely unique, good gameplay mechanics. The sound added as well.
Aug 26 04:31:00 13m 00s Sol Very nice! Played through to the end. The difficulty was well done and I really liked the mechanic. The music added a lot as well. I really enjoyed it all around.
Aug 26 04:41:00 10m 00s Fusebox Very innovative. A unique, if literal, take on the theme. I'm impressed with how much detail you got into the game in 48 hours! Very nice work there.
Aug 26 05:25:00 44m 00s Grim Gateway Wow, definitely a show-stopper! Especially after playing all these 48 hour, solo effort games. Really nice work. Great production value, great sound, art.
Aug 26 05:36:00 11m 00s Back and 4th Extremely nice. One of the best I've played today. I made it about half way through before the difficulty overcame my patience. This isn't really my taste in genres, but I can respect a great game regardless.

The music fits well and adds to the trance like game play. Good art as well.

Overall a really well packaged game. I enjoyed it!
Aug 26 05:41:00 5m 00s The Curious Incident of the Bird and the Fish Pretty entertaining. Some odd tone, as others have mentioned. Some art assets feel higher quality than others. I was playing alone, so it was definitely difficult, but that's to be expected.

I was certainly entertained! I love the change of pace of the secret ;) Also, the story is a really good spin on the theme.
Aug 26 05:46:00 5m 00s Boat/Mouth Cool take on the theme. A timer or score keeper would definitely be handy, but it's certainly fun right now too!

Very enjoyable. I think some sound effects could really put this game over the top.

One thing I noticed is that if I hold 'up' on the boat side, I can often keep her alive indefinitely as the boat spins in 360s. She'll eventually get thrown off and die, but for a while she'll either be stuck in the middle of the boat or flying up really high through the air.

Anyway, great concept, great art, I really enjoyed it.
Aug 26 05:53:00 7m 00s Line Crossing Wow - beautiful art and very intriguing story. I'm not entirely sure I'm at the end - I passed the rats and there's a black screen, half filled with text? I see no way to continue. Perhaps I'm missing a piece of the story. (One small critique is that the font is difficult to read... almost glyph-like).

Anyway, very impressed with the artistry that went into what I've seen. I can see the effort and creativity that went into this. Thank you for sharing it!
Aug 26 17:16:00 11h 23m Two Pieces Nice execution, and the idea works surprisingly well. I had fun controlling both at once. I can definitely see this working with harder levels if you want to continue it.

Is it meant to be played 2 player? If so, I like that's it's competitive, in that you're racing, but also collaborative in that you both need to arrive at the center. Good stuff!
Aug 28 05:57:00 36h 41m Thinkings Very inventive gameplay. I like the pace, and as others have mentioned, the music.

I had trouble solving some of the puzzles, even with the solutions. For instance, on the second puzzle, I had to continually perform the solution for a while before it clicked in. I would have given up if I didn't already know what to do. I couldn't pass puzzle 3, no matter what I did (even reading the solution).

Despite my technical troubles, I think it's a really awesome idea and offers something truly different and worthwhile.
Aug 28 06:04:00 7m 00s Delivery Interesting concept... the feeling it gave me is similar to the game where you have to flip over 2 of the same tile at the same time, and turn mis-matches back over.

Just for your info, it worked great in Chrome for me.
Aug 28 06:15:00 11m 00s Switch Off Hmm, very cool idea! I love the set up. I couldn't progress very far - I made it onto the shelf up above the TV but couldn't figure out anywhere to go from there without falling back down below.

It could be helpful a little more information about what you were interacting with in the invisible world. Right now it's like "hit e and hope you get what you want".

That said, I think it's a very interesting setting for a game and there's a lot of fun potential. Thanks for sharing it!
Aug 28 06:30:00 15m 00s H.O.C.M.A. Definitely opaque, as others have mentioned. By the third level I had figured out what was going on. One issue is, if you never start your link, you can sit there and let your energy accumulate without any danger from link health (stays at 100 until you place your first link). Once you have enough energy to beat the level, you can proceed very quickly. This means the best strategy to play the game is to go make a bowl of cereal and come back in 5 minutes.

Very interesting idea, and some good production value (altho the piano loop is reaaaally short). I'd love to see what you could do with this if you have more time. It would be cool to monkey around with the gameplay and see if you can dial that in.

Great entry tho. In some ways broken, but in many ways brilliant.
Aug 28 06:40:00 10m 00s Parallel Worlds This is really good - kind of reminded me of the dungeons in top down Zelda games. Very clever design for 48 hours work.

I liked the audio changing between worlds. It cemented the feeling of being in a different zone.

I enjoyed this game a lot. Thank you for sharing it!
Aug 28 06:48:00 8m 00s ConnectTheWorlds Nice - pretty fun gameplay. I always liked these types of games. Obviously lacks polish, but you got a lot done in 48 hours! The level select screen and build out of multiple worlds is pretty cool.

As mentioned, that alarm is alarming! My poor cat is growling at my speakers. I am too.

Still, there is something quite charming about your game. It's more than the sum of its parts. Nice work!
Aug 28 06:57:00 9m 00s World Portals Because of the difficulty and wall climbing mechanic, it reminds me a lot of a really rough prototype of Super Meat Boy.

As said, no theme connection, unless I'm missing something.

The difficulty level made it quite fun to play. I kind of wish it started out with 3 lives, though. Perhaps a little too punishing right now?
Aug 28 07:08:00 11m 00s The Beginning Wow - truly impressive. That's a lot of level design to cram into 48 hours! Great works, one of the best entries I've seen on here.

I don't even have any critiques. Yes, it's hard, but in the right way. There's a good feeling of accomplishment after finally clearing a tough stage.
Aug 29 22:20:00 39h 12m Power the Planets Pretty slick! The controls do make the gameplay enjoyable, and I really like the concept.

Sometimes there's a lot of waiting for the planets to slowly pull themselves over. Some music/audio might make the waiting more enjoyable. But I know there's only so much time in 48 hours to implement different components.

You accomplished quite a lot in that time. The physics and controls feel really good. I'd love to see what you could do if you had time to polish and spend time on level design. Great work!
Aug 29 22:29:00 9m 00s Conflicting Landscapes Very interesting... love the art style and sound. They combine well and create a good world and mood.

While it's intriguing, I could use a little more direction. The pusher / abstractor effects feel a bit random or indirect, and I wasn't able to reliably use them to do what I wanted to do. I spent a good amount of time, but was unable to collect the artifacts.

Still, I love the world you've created. I think it's very beautiful.
Aug 29 22:43:00 14m 00s Planetary Shift Unique entry, I enjoyed playing it.

Sometimes the way way things stick together is a little counter intuitive, but I was able to acclimate. Still, it made solving the puzzles a bit harder because there was often possibilities I didn't consider until I accidentally performed them.

Cool art direction. The sound style combined well, though the movement sound got old fast, considering how often movement happens.

Overall a nice entry. I found it difficult, but not in a bad way. Thanks for sharing!
Aug 29 22:52:00 9m 00s Salvation Aaah - I really want to play this game! I think the concept is terrific, and it looks like something I could really spend some time with. I'd definitely like to see it with a more polished UI. The broken auto-close is obviously a major issue.

Also, sometimes I would click on buildings and nothing would happen? Do they cost different amounts of funds? Perhaps I didn't have enough. If so, it would be great to be able to see the cost for each building type.

Anyway, ambitious game for 48 hours, but I'd love to see it when it's dialed in. As it is, I gave up after 5 attempts.
Aug 29 22:59:00 7m 00s Cosmic Conga Very strong - love the production value, the concept, and the gameplay.

As mentioned, the AI is insanely fast. Perhaps I'm missing something, but even in the balanced version I can't stay alive for more than a few seconds.

Very fun design, regardless. Great work!
