Dec 18 10:51:00 Prophecy of the Villain I gave up after two quests, cause I didn't know what to do anymore, so I probably missed a few things (like fighting, since you mentioned a sword)... But overall the game works pretty well, & the story is fun! The ability to swim & the footsteps to keep track of where you've already been are a nice touch :)

On the downside it seems like the game involves a lot of wandering around in the grass, and given that there's very few point of interests, it gets a bit boring when you don't know in advance where you're supposed to go. Otherwise, good entry!
Dec 18 10:57:00 6m 00s SIRTET Okay guys, that's what the Innovation category is made for.

The game in itself could easily require 48h to complete on a "classic" platform, but the extra challenge makes this really impressive. Not sure up to which point, but it tickles my nerd nerve for sure!
Dec 18 11:05:00 8m 00s Goat sacrifice 2012 (unfinished) It doesn't launch for me, as soon as I run it it creates a "@@@8 (invalid encoding)" file and crashes.
Dec 18 11:19:00 14m 00s Mad Goat It works for me on Linux through Wine :)

Hey it's quite fun, indeed a bit buggy but still fairly playable. I liked the graphics and how everything can be used as a platform to jump on! Otherwise it's a bit hard as the enemies all jump like crazy and the boss seems to kill me in one shot, but it has this Metal Slug feel that's quite cool.

Tiny advice: shooting lacks feedback, especially when you're in the middle of 100 soldiers. A flash at the tip of your gun/louder gun sound effects/an reaction when enemies are getting hit would make the game much more satisfying to play.
Dec 18 11:25:00 6m 00s SleepyParadox 25 I can't play it since I'm on Linux right now, but I hosted the game for you here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7592975/ld25/SleepyParadoxLD25Web/SleepyParadoxLD25.html
Dec 18 11:37:00 12m 00s Batty Bacteria! Simple but effective! The game gets difficult quite fast, but it's pretty intuitive to play and it even seems bug-free.

Game-design wise, I would have suggested to make death only make the player go back to the spawn with 0 energy: not only it would make the game less frustrating, but it gives an actual reason for the player to go and create a few clones every once and a while. Otherwise it's clearly better to keep the energy until you have enough of it to create all the clones.

Another thing that would have been cool is to make the clone act as walls for the player. It would add a cool twist to the gameplay I think!
Dec 18 12:07:00 30m 00s against your past Awesome, we both made a game using this "your replay is the villain" mechanic... except in different ways!

The game gets quickly very hard, but fortunately it seems like you can't die so it's okay :P Maybe the power-ups could have been more powerful? Otherwise the game looks quite good, and the flow of the gameplay (fight room/bonus room) is neat. Nice job.
Dec 18 13:04:00 57m 00s Considered Harmful This is the first time I actually play this sort of game.

I found it kinda hard, since every single mistake can make you die, then you have to restart from the beginning. I never had the patience to play CYOA books without cheating, so I guess it's my fault if I lost patience after a group of guys attacked me in the candle-lit room.

The story seems quite good, except maybe that the events feel a bit random. But again I'm not used to text games. Maybe I should give some a try...
Dec 18 13:14:00 10m 00s ASMOSNOS The mood of the game is the main interest of this thing... And it's not a negative comment: discovering the atmosphere and the strange scenery of this is actually really entertaining in itself, nice job. Top notch entry!
Dec 18 17:49:00 4h 35m Licence to play The idea is funny, the graphics are a bit inconsistent but overall quite well done!

Now I found it a bit hard to understand how the game works, even with the tutorial (props for making one though) ; by mashing 'space' against everything I crossed I eventually got it, once I got there it's quite an original game!
Dec 18 22:49:00 5h 00m Evil Lair Construction Kit Great idea but I find it hard to understand and a little too slow. A small tutorial would have been a great add ;)
Dec 19 10:42:00 11h 53m Agents The concept is brilliant. It's like a choose your adventure game, only based on sound instead of text... It has its advantages and drawbacks, but it could definitely become a thing!
Dec 19 11:01:00 19m 00s Painful Traps Master Very nice entry, I played it and enjoyed it until the end :) It's the first time I see a such mix of the Tower Defense and platformer genres, it works quite well!

If I were to make suggestions, I'd say:
- The balancing of items is quite average. Spikes (and maybe Ice floors to earn more time to shoot) are the only items worth making.
- The sprites for traps are a quite small, a colored aura or an icon below them would make it more comfortable for the player to distinguish the traps and their types in a glance.
- Be proud of your pixel art :D
Dec 19 11:17:00 16m 00s Mr Toothy 1327 points! I found the graphics neat, but just like the others the controls felt frustrating. It would have been so much more intuitive to allow to hold the mouse button!

Otherwise it's a good game, it gets a bit repetitive but the graphics and animations make up for that.
Dec 19 12:00:00 43m 00s Responsibilities The atmosphere of the game is pretty interesting, but the clumsy controls/camera/text display (if you pass through a "text tile" while holding an arrow you don't even have the time to read) break the charm a bit.
Dec 19 12:35:00 35m 00s Small Theft Auto Good entry as usual! Except for some issues with controls and game balance, the game is great ; the amount of contents for 48hrs is impressive.
Dec 19 12:56:00 21m 00s Extinct : Humankind fade in the mist Impressive work on the animations and general polish, and the gameplay is really interesting.

It would have been perfect if it had more easy levels to introduce the "items" one by one, to avoid making the player read loads of text to even get started. With some work on this aspect, Extinct would really look like a complete, really enjoyable game.
Dec 19 13:06:00 10m 00s Super Spammer Awesome, +1 for the finely crafted meme medley (recognized nyan can, rickroll & sax guy :D).

The concept is funny and interesting, but could use some more adjustments and explanations: I was not really sure what keywords I was supposed to enter, and at times I would have to wait 4/5s until someone finally says something I could spam on.

Anyway it remains one of my favorite entries, given the neat graphics and overall look and feel, and the concept that mostly works.
Dec 19 13:11:00 5m 00s Sebastian 5/5, that's all I have to say.

Except that arrow controls would have been useful for non QWERTY users.
Dec 19 13:28:00 17m 00s Rainbow I've fallen in love with this little gem, minimalistic yet really original and interesting to play.

It has a huge potential to be turned into an awesome smartphone/tablet game. Just add a few gameplay elements, clever level design and some more eye sugar, and you're good to go :)
Dec 19 14:08:00 40m 00s Villain's base management The concept is good, but the actual gameplay feels a bit broken : it's hard to understand the consequences of playing missions, the purpose of buying items, etc; on the other hand it's pretty easy to run out of money and get stuck. Also the menus are not very comfortable since you always need ~10 employees to get started with a mission, which requires loads of "refreshes" on various screens to gather and assign the people required.

There's certainly some potential in this game, and it seems like you put loads of good ideas in it ; unfortunately it would have required additional work to make players be able to really understand & enjoy them.
Dec 19 16:19:00 2h 11m Super Natural Habitat Destroyer Impressive entry, with nice graphics and animations, a funny take on the theme, and a classic but solid gameplay. I almost gave it the perfect mark on every category!

While the controls might feel a bit annoying when fighting large groups of beavers, you soon realize that with some skill you can actually avoid getting hurt by moving away just after you land a hit. The game's still a bit hard given that each beaver needs several hits to die, but overall it remains very fun to play.

Congrats!
Dec 19 19:57:00 3h 38m Battle Bots! I like the graphics and this type of game. But it is too long to have enought composant to update your army.
It's hard to understand who you are at first ^^
Dec 19 20:20:00 23m 00s Bandits I think you tried to create a too big world before having you game working. I explored the world but I couldn't do anything else except moving bandit.
Did you plan to be able to move bandit with the mouse? Or only with the keyboard?
Dec 20 12:51:00 16h 31m Tripe Traps Simple, easy to understand a fun. Like other could be great with other level and traps ;)
Dec 20 19:41:00 6h 50m Execution Chamber (Now a Jam entry) So much blood ^^. Great game for this Theme ;)
Dec 20 19:47:00 6m 00s Cow Stealer Good for a first game but would be greater with a goal
Dec 20 21:53:00 2h 06m Death Star Yeah the controls are plain horrible, especially to move the cursor horizontally x) And the fact that there can only be one bullet at the same time is another weird difficulty added on top of that.

The graphics looks quite good, unfortunately the gameplay itself is insanely difficult and not really fun.
Dec 20 22:08:00 15m 00s Cell 22 Awesome graphics, and the gameplay is interesting, except I never made it past the first guy with a gun.

And now that you mention it the inspiration from the epic corridor scene in Old Boy is pretty obvious indeed, good reference!
Dec 20 22:23:00 15m 00s Earth Destroyer Great entry! I'm really impressed by the quality of the graphics, and while there are some small issues (not sure how to use the line weapon, levels lack a bit some balance and more precise goals), it's overall a very impressive game. Congratulations!
Dec 20 22:33:00 10m 00s Knights of Uruk A nice minimalistic RTS I played until the end!

The graphics are neat, and the gameplay basic but it works, and it's pretty enjoyable once you get to know which sprite stands for who. A solid entry, congrats!
Dec 20 22:42:00 9m 00s Infected Very good-looking game, I like the style you chose for the graphics. The UI, sounds, graphics & gameplay all work well together.

The main downside is that fighting is not very fun, and hacking seems a bit random (I'm not sure what triggers the gauge of the virus getting detected).
Dec 21 19:52:00 21h 10m Evil Dragon Great game. I like the concept of being a dragon ^^
Jan 6 12:22:00 376h 30m fibre rayon I successfully stole THE LOST IDOL and flew away! The storytelling is quite weird, I'm not sure if it's intended?
Jan 6 12:31:00 9m 00s Oh noes! The goverment!(placeglder) Indeed this one lacked some explanations. As far as I can tell :

- Click on one of the four turrets to upgrade it (they cost 3 points or something)
- WASD to move the... camera, I think

The game is quite buggy though: enemies stop coming at some point so there's not much to do anymore. I finished at round 2 with... -2 points :P

On the good side the parallax effect is quite convincing!
