LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Your God Demands... by daruudaruu 2018-12-04T20:07:05Z

Ok, this is straight up too good. So good I have nothing to say besides how polished everything is.

You could leave it as is and it'd be a finished product already in somewhere like Newgrounds. Add levels, more mechanics (level hazards would be awesome) and multiplayer (I'm not that guy who asks for multiplayer on everything, it's just that this feels perfect for both co-op and vs gameplay) and I'd buy it on Steam for the same kind of polish I'm seeing here.

Quest For Gory by Erasmus Crowley 2018-12-04T17:21:03Z

Nice seeing Point n Click in a 2-day jam. Took me a while to finish it though since, for the love of all that is holy, I couldn't see that dynamite for about the 5 minutes I spent clicking all over the cave trying to find what I missed. But hey, it wouldn't be a 90s point n click game without someone getting stuck somewhere kk XD Nice job \o/

It's a shame you didn't get to finish it. The art looks really good and matches the music, so I will rate based on that o/

Head Over Hooves: My Heart Bleats For You by Blarfnip 2018-12-04T18:11:28Z

This!! \o/

Great presentation guys! It has the 3 Ws (warm, weird, wtf?!) vibes that made me like something like Hatoful Boyfriend so much. Considering how short it is, you actually get to care enough (and more than I'd expect) about Goat to feel something at the end.

The puzzle mechanics kinda felt generic and out of place, but that doesn't matter. Their role is to keep the flow of the game not too linear, which is something that helps avoid getting the player tired from repetition. Though that probably isn't an issue with such a short game, the bare fact that it is there shows the dev knows how these games play and what makes them good, which is definitely a plus to me.

Anyway, I laughed, I felt sorry and I enjoyed it. So to me, this is a win o/

Pyme's Genocide by HermesEs 2018-12-04T21:13:03Z

This is great for a 72 hours jam!

Faced some bugs with mons not being sucked in after some time. Probably just some prefabs getting defective. But I only really got to the point it started to bug because I was that invested in it. Besides that, it was charming and very well animated. With the bugs fixed and a bit more polish in the physics department, I can easily see this as a solid base for a high quality product.

I really like how the game looks. Reminds me of Gods Will Be Watching, which is about making sacrifices as well. I'm sad I can't give it a higher overall rating, but I'd like to encourage further development.

Again, a thumbs up for the choice of perpective and artstyle.

Nice work there. It was well structured enough to get me to keep going until I finished it. The "sacrifice yourself to solve puzzles" mechanic is nice. Backtracking can get repetitive when you just have to go back to the same place you already were though, but that can be solved with stuff like checkpoints.

The graphics and sound matched well, something I like to praise because it's actually harder to get the game to look good with assets you didn't make (like when you can't find the assets you need with artstyles that match) than when you make them yourself.

I'd only suggest to not rely too much on Unity's physics engine for platformers. Raycasting and OverlapBox/Sphere gives you more control over certain points that are much harder to get right with just RB and colliders (moving platforms for example. They are an old nemesis XP).

Anyway, great work for such a short time and while by yourself.
