LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Tripus's Very Deep Adventure by Kornel 2021-04-29T12:18:38Z

A very enjoyable game. The audio weirded me out at first, but it grew on me quickly. The music is great. The announcer is cool too, but I wish there was more variety in what he says. But that's a relatively minor complaint about an overall *awesome* game.

On one of my first attempts I got 308397 points on depth 87.

Edit: Only just now I realized that there are 2 different soundtracks that are chosen seemingly at random. Not sure what's up with that, but I like both.

I played this game yesterday, but I was too drained to comment or rate (probably not really because of the game itself). It's a pretty sick game, quite addictive as others said, and the sound effects don't get on your nerves. I did feel like the difficulty curve is a bit uneven, a few sections were easier for me than ones that came before. And as much as I like the game, the high difficulty kinda murdered my attention span (which is way better than it used to be), so I ended up stopping probably somewhat early on. All in all though, great job.

Rolling In The Deep by KAPA6UH 2021-04-28T20:50:28Z

I love good-looking water, so this game caught my attention. And indeed, this is a very nice-looking game with beautiful water.

Game-design-wise, however, I have to say something similar to others. The submarine launcher has a lot of power, with a full drag being able to launch you really far. The problem here is that much of the time you'll be going through twisted and narrow corridors, and doing big launches would just make you bump into walls and lose precious life energy. To not bump into walls, you have to make pretty tiny launches often. Or you can just use the gun recoil, because that also moves you, and it does so at a rather comfortable speed, making the launching a bit redundant.

Don't get me wrong, this game left a nice impression on me, especially the visuals, but I just wish the game mechanics were a bit better thought out.

Cursed Duality by harusame 2021-10-05T13:01:12Z

I'm not even good at this game and I still love it. The art style is great and it combines pixel art with 3D very well. PlayStation light bar support is an extremely nice touch. Maybe it's just me, but I think the game gets easier after the first bit when it starts giving you a bunch of wild cards. IDK I think I wanted to say something else but forgot lol

Wobble Waddle! by Gen Liu 2021-10-04T16:12:06Z

Lovely game and of pretty high quality and polish, it reminded me of Loco Roco, but it also reminded me of a game called Dizzy Panic (which none of you have probably heard of). To be honest I did find it a difficult game at first, there's just so much stuff to do and to keep track of, and you have to be really careful with the physics. Just like some others, I also did find that it's easier in some cases to turn the instrument sideways and use it to launch the food instead of balancing food on the instrument. All in all though, great job.

Guys... please don't take it to heart... as a speedrunner in a loose sense of the word, I loved cheesing this game by jumping from a block, grabbing the block mid-jump, and jumping from the block again (as well as prodding blocks through walls). Genuinely 5 out of 5 stars on the "Fun" rating. As a musician in an even more loose sense of the word, I appreciate the effort that went into the music as well.

Apologies but is the framerate supposed to be this low? I have a G-Sync monitor, and turning off G-Sync doesn't seem to help. A shame because this game looks cool.

Okay so first of all, on Qwerty keyboards the controls are still Q and D. This is not a big deal however as Q is to the left of D.

I really like the concept of this game, it looks good and I like the explosion effect where everything is swept out of the screen :) However, I did find 2 issues with it.

First of all, there's an exploit in easy and random modes, in which you can simply keep going left or right, bumping into the enemies, which will then come from only that side of the screen. This is by far the easiest way to get points in this game.

And if I try to play as intended, it seems like the only enemies in the game are the pink slimes that walk in from the left and right. I feel like there's missed potential, there could be more enemies in the game that do different things, which would introduce more variety into the gameplay.

Don't get me wrong, this is great for someone's first jam game, and it would be very cool to see a post-jam version in which there are more enemies, the exploit is taken care of... maybe a more sophisticated scoring system? But what is there is still very nice.
