LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Wordelicious by ludipe 2018-04-24T04:52:27Z

I realize that backspace is iffy on certain browsers, but I kept reaching for that instead of the left arrow key. Aside from that, I really enjoyed the work you put into this. The dictionary might could be extended, but aside from that and the backspace issue, I honestly don't have many complaints.

C://TEXTRIS.EXE by Ryan Gannon King 2018-04-24T04:34:49Z

Great game, but I'm terrible at Tetris. 1/5. ...Nah, I can't bring myself to do that. Good work, seriously. The music and graphics work together really well in order to set that old-school mood. Listing the controls somewhere in-game would've been good, I think, but Tetris controls are reasonably straightforward so I suppose it doesn't matter too much.

Mortal by deathray 2018-04-24T04:19:14Z

I think I vaguely get the idea of what you were going for here, but the trouble is, it just doesn't make for a very rewarding game. The player doesn't have any thing to do except a single action, the game ends the same way each time, and it can be completed in... what, 30 seconds? It *might* work as an art thing, but there's just not enough game to it, I'm afraid. Which I suspect could be taken as a statement about the clicker genre as a whole, but at least there it's something of an endurance contest with one's friends to see who can keep clicking longest. Your game was an interesting idea, mind you, but I just think it could've used a bit more planning about game mechanics and what-have-you.

Travis Beacon Teaches Fighting by niksg 2018-04-24T04:06:17Z

Really cool concept here, but I agree with the general consensus that the third fight is a little unbalanced. I'd have also liked to see hear some of the music tracks get a little more fleshed out (perhaps different melodies over the beat if you're winning or losing by a lot?) but despite my nitpicking, the gameplay, art and music were well done.

Peculiar Adventures of Dorothy Hops by detectiveLosos 2018-04-24T05:02:54Z

I like the general concept and gameplay, but I'd have liked to see the controls spread across the keyboard a little more. Maybe arrow keys for decision-making instead of Z/C? It just felt a little cramped on my keyboard. Also, very good work on the art design. It sets a nice, gloomy ambiance, I think.

Hit the Green! by Azathothep 2018-04-24T21:01:56Z

Really cool concept here, but I ran into two specific things that affected my enjoyment of the game. One, if you knock your ball off-course on the third hole, it's terribly difficult to get it just far enough over those short walls that you don't end up off the course all over again. Two, the rocket's a bit unreliable and made the ball fly backward sometimes, which doesn't seem quite right. Aside from those two issues, good work.

F.P.S - Frootz per Second by Albuquerque 2018-04-25T03:28:38Z

This is not a game. This is art.

...Nah, in all seriousness, I'd have maybe liked to see a few more options for things to buy with your Frootz once you've played for a decent bit. Perhaps some more desk toys? Regardless, excellent work.

Fishing Asteroids by Arbosis 2018-04-24T22:25:44Z

Nice work! I enjoyed the gameplay and cheerful art style, though I suspect I tried to gather too many fish too quickly. So yeah, I may have hit a few too many asteroids. One possible area of improvement would be to add more variation in the obstacles. A rocket, perhaps, or a fast-moving shooting star might've been interesting to see.

Dunk Four by edj99 2018-04-24T03:59:23Z

Really like the concept here. Some sort of background music or crowd murmuring/cheering might've been beneficial, but in regards to gameplay, I can't really complain. All in all, good work.
