Really cool game, the graphics were good and I was genuinely having fun... until the game crashed and i lost all of my progress. Also, you could walk on top of the mountain sprite. Other than that it was the best game I've played in this jam so far
At first the game seemed to have good potential, the mechanics worked and it was fun going around killing monsters. One thing though, I couldn't figure out how to get back to the start in order to upgrade my items. I figured it was one of those games were your progressed is saved after you die. Eventually the game started to become boring as it was the same monsters over and over aagain, and they wern't exactly hard to defeat, untill I came to the Bee-Boss thingy which actually was really hard, but also realy fun to fight. I died against it, I was still using the start items, and went back to the start thinking I could finally upgrade my stuff. But when I went to the upgrading place i found that none of my progress was saved. I don't know if this is itentional but something about this has to be fixed (maybe it was just unclear how to get to the upgrade stuff place)
Overall it was a decent game, mostly because it actually worked and I actually had fun fighting the Boss, but it has some mayor parts that could use improvement: -Add music (search music maker online) -Make it playable in the browser (as I understand it should be pretty easy in itch.io) -More monsters, that are harder -Mandatory tutorial
And then of course fix the upgrade issue.
I couldn't get the game to work, maybe make it playable in browser next time
really creative, i liked the idea and it was actually fun to play, although I ragequited but that just means it is hard enough. There are of course things you can improve but I am sure that you are aware of these, for example the tutorial at the begining and how it sometimes was hard only because the zombies got stuck in each other. But overall I think this was way above average and I did certainly not get the feeling that this was your first game, well done!
Fantastic game, the graphics look like they could have been designed by any AAA developer and the gameplay was superb and it was so satisfying to play. Ngl this is the best game I have played over the two latest Ludum Dares. I almost got the feeling that you have cheated in some way. I did not instantly understand the game when I first played it and I didn't know why I lost but once I understood railway tiles it was a lot of fun to play, untill I realised it was a bit too easy and I tired of it after reaching (not to brag but) a score of 222. At that point it didn't really feel like I could lose but if you either make the game harder or add more content as the game progresses I think this game could be really good. I seriously think you guys should spend some more time with this and develop it in to a real game, after adding sound of course.
Nice game, the graphics were pretty meh but it was pretty fun to play, although maybe a bit too easy once you understood. One thing that I liked was how you as a player were forced to explore not because the fire forced you but because you were desperate for finding fuel. I don't know if you made the backgrond melody yourselves but I really liked it, I was however gonna give the game a bad mood score, until I met the final boss which was truly epic. You guys should start making bossfight games.
The game looks really good, I'm a bit unsure of why the game is 144 MB though. You also nailed the sound and mood but I found that I really had to concentrate to keep up with the dialogue and the story, in my first playthrough I didn't even realise that I could move and it should have been clearer when you were allowed to move. I did feel as it was clear what you were supposed to do but I was a bit unsure of the controls and after putting my first piece of wood in the fire I didn't manage to add another, maybe you should have added some sort of UI text that tells you what to do and what controlls to use.
I really loved the artstyle but the heart seemed to be a bit in the wrong artstyle, otherwise it was a simple but decently fun game. I was a bit confused about the heartbeats at first, the sound they make when you hit them sounds like something positive and that you are supposed to hit them.
