Really nice! It took a while to get past the controls (though they are still somewhat awkward), but there's a surprising amount of depth to the game. For example, I started shooting at one of the white ships, and it started running away while a bunch of other white ships came running after me! I love the graphics. It didn't go into 320x240 native mode, but it went into 640x480 mode with black borders, which worked well enough.
Even if you want sim-like controls, there are ways to justify simpler controls. When a turning button isn't pressed, for example, you could have the ship automatically thrust in the direction of slower turning. I can get used to momentum-based movement, but the turning is pretty unmanageable the way it is; I had a lot of trouble picking up cargo dropped by destroyed ships before they expired.

I like the concept, the art is nice, and it's fun to play! The only complaint I have is that the movement is a bit slow. Speeding it up a bit would reduce the pain of making a small mistake, in turn making the last level less annoying.
Also, the collision code isn't perfect, you can jam yourself into the top-right of the last level by wall-jumping repeatedly. Won't dock points for that though. =)

I fell through the floor on the first level O_O. I couldn't get through level 1 until figuring out you could jump in mid-air by mashing the mouse button (a bug?)

First try: Let the leaf fall, EPIC LOSE
Second try: missed an armoire, lose
Third try: All the way to the end!
This game is awesome AND funny, I think it could be a hit as a flash game and/or facebook app.

A lot more fun than I anticipated! Some things could have been tweaked for more polish though. For example, it would have been nice for you to prevent obstacles spawning within a certain distance of the player. Also, the lack of a time limit makes it feel like what it's really trying is your patience, since you can get as far as you want if you go slow enough. Having a time limit which extends by a fixed amount would have made competing to higher levels more rewarding.
Congrats on completing Ludum Dare!

Neat idea marred by a poor framerate. I have a feeling that collision issues, visual distraction, and difficulty problems all boiled down to the response time.
Still, good job completing!
