LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Santa frowns to town by tanis 2018-12-05T21:10:03Z

I played the web version. It was fun at the beginning but got bored quickly after. I wish, as tanis said, that the jump had some purpose, I ended up just wrapping presents and give them to the elves. Kudos for using you self coded engine. I don't know if this is something that affects exclusively the HTML version, but the controls were a bit overresponsive: moving Santa left and right felt like rollerblading on grease

Entry for 43rd Ludum Dare by burnedkirby 2018-12-05T22:22:17Z

Yes, yes, yes. Simple art. Great audio and solid gameplay mechanics. You got me hooked from the start and I haven't even finished all the levels (I'm stuck at the "lava" ceiling one). Kudos to you, this proves that great games don't need to be structurally complex

ALL HE CAN EAT by rehawk 2018-12-05T20:59:19Z

I loved the art style. I played it alone and that's what probably led me to enjoy not as much as I thought. Good physics and fitting audio, though I Wish there were more sfx. Controls aren't responsive as they should be on this type of game.

@lukas-leder I used my keyboard. Had to mash a few times the enter button to start the game, tbh

@lukas-leder that's something I don't remember, sorry

It was a nice puzzle game, I liked the graphics and the idea behind the game, but I found it lacking in the audio department. Lovely sound FX for the creatures, but it definitely needed some background music. As Ethan suggested, I would have loved to be able to turn the pillar backwords by clicking it with the RMB. Fun game overall

Ludum Dare: The Game by Darylsteak 2018-12-05T21:25:01Z

Interesting one, left me with a "Stanley Parable" sort of vibe. It's like The Sims, if Sims joined game jams and it's a recap of my previous weekend: no friends, no family, just me, my computer, my DAW and my fellow teammates working on our entry for LD43. It was cathartic to say the least. Luckily, my family didn't disown me because of the game jam

Hi @justcamh thank you for your feedback on music and sound. I did make the additional sounds you mentioned in your comment, but we had a few problems when we implemented them so we decided to leave them out for the time being in order to release the game and meet the Jam's deadline.

Alain's Sacrifice by Daniel_Abeleira 2018-12-05T21:55:06Z

Here are my two cents: good theme and story, but the combat system is a bit slow (sometimes I had to mash the LMB a few times to shoot a fireball), traps blend in with the environment (tbh, at first I thought they were pickups, lol). Didn't like the audio, the sfx are muffled and the background music is a bit annoying after a while. If the combat system was a bit smoother, I would have liked it more

Reactor Overdrive by JUSTCAMH 2018-12-06T20:22:55Z

Fun, even if it gets a bit tedious when you have to take on multiple tanks

REQUIESCAT IN PACE (RIP) by pelicanodepico 2018-12-05T22:14:36Z

Great music and art but I couldn't appreciate this game. I'm not a big fan of puzzle games, especially those where you have no clue of what to do. Not my cup of tea

Good entry. The Slaughterhouse/maze was a bit too long but that didn't ruin my experience. Really haunting music and SFX, a job well done. Hats off to you, pal
