LD44 — Your life is currency

Bloodslinger by ryusui 2019-05-01T22:09:09Z

I quite liked the game. It's funny and fun. Didn't quite get the point of "Luck" investments, but I may be guessing the idea of that. I love the graphics/sounds/idea. It all combines into a rather unique (imho) take on the western duels. And the visuals/audio made me giggle a little bit in a good way :D

Journey Through the Blood Tribe Lands by Kornel 2019-05-01T22:57:43Z

That's a really well made game, i truly enjoyed it! Especially the visual and audio of it (i'm quite picky at that) :) A few notes though:

1) i once got into a rock formation and was kinda stuck in textures. With about 7-10 "move" actions managed to get out, but it took a little bit of effort.

2) sometimes the player bounces off rather hard, which makes it a bit unpredictable when you are trying to pass at a narrow angle to some physical obstacle

3) tried using "Push" action, but it seemed useless. My suggestions on that, if you are willing to work a bit on this: - make Push reflect stones (it is not only useful when you are surrounded, but also fun and satisfying to use - make enemies die when they get into water - it's quite an obvious use of push, but also more frequent than traps (due to enemies' positioning and AI)

4) consider adding maybe a few more actions to take (changing push is already gonna be a big boost, yet i yearn for more!

overall, amazing, as said earlier, I really enjoyed it :)

Virus the game by Vertuga32 2019-05-01T22:26:52Z

i enjoyed it. didn't manage to beat a single level, but still spent like 20 minutes trying to. I will most likely come back to try and beat it again xD Loved the animations and funny sounds. Also the funny events you had. Big like from me :)

L.D. Noire by karlipoppins 2019-10-09T04:14:59Z

Pulling off such a good quest game must be hard. It's a really well done and clever game. Special thanks to the writer(s), I laughed quite a bit at different comments of the character. A lot of stuff to explore and the music sets just the right tone. 5/5 very good job, loved it!

This is a really good piece. Finished the game in one go, because was just enjoying the process. Loved the spell system, though found the laser beam a little too powerful (at least on enemies xD). And the music, oh, that's a really sweet addition and just sets the right mood. 5/5 for everything. I'd play more.

PS. The pink stuff that was spread around the game made up a really nice character and I loved it. So much you need to feel cared for. Those gifts and phrases were almost key to keep me going. Without it the game would be very depressive with all the negative words it pushes on you.

P.P.S. I want that soundtrack. Too soothing to pass by.

@bencrorules , @ectucker1 , thank you guys! Downloaded and saved x3.

Once more, congratulations on this work of art. Want to see more of your creations! <3

So, I played the game and didn't realize it was opened on a webpage (went fullscreen), so I just Alt+F4'd at the end. Took me half an hour to find it after that just to say this: it's the best puzzle game I've played probably ever. I am not a fan of puzzles, but damn, this one hooked me up with the way it is designed! I loved every single minute spent on the puzzle and if you extend it, maybe add a bit of a plot and release it somewhere, let me know and I will buy it without a doubt. Really clever and brain tickling problems and they are all unique. Moreover, I loved the layered design of them as well. I.e. my last digits that I found were probably the most obvious ones:

(SPOILER ALERT) the music, the time and the num.alphabet green thing (although, I discovered the last one mentioned midway through the language puzzle) (END OF SPOILER ALERT)

So yeah, that's really great work, and I don't regret a second playing it. 5/5, want more. <3

Oracle Pine by Swanijam 2019-10-09T05:06:42Z

I loved it. Got me unnerved at first (and throughout the entire experience), because I am very sensitive to spooky games and jumpscares etc. So I expected some of it here, but luckily, no accidents xD The music just sets it off so well. And the audio twist on the first ritual gave me quite a start (when the off tune notes played). I wish the graphics were hd and not purposefully scaled down, but it didn't bother me anyway. Also, really nice camera zoom. Very smooth and silky. Good project and I wish to see more of your stuff :)

web and mac builds coming soon; also, flame me for level design :P

@someone , I'm really glad you made it as far as to the bonus level. Shame the controller screwed you over, but if at some point you try it again, let me know if you manage to beat it. So far nobody has done it from start to end - not even out team (we tested everything separately and it all works and is possible, but we just lacked patience xD)

Thanks, everyone, for your reviews! We are going to polish the game further and expand it soon. Your comments are very helpful!

@someone, thank you for submitting the bug report. We figured it out just now as well and it is indeed the platform. Apparently, if you get hit by the spiked platform, the game simultaneously assigns new motion parent to the player as well as it says that you're dead. So, when you respawn, you don't trigger the condition to remove parenting (by leaving a moving platform). We will work out how it can be solved in the easiest and safest way.

Also, you are amazing! Beating that bonus level is freaking hard. I commend on your patience and thank you for being so determined at beating it. You made me really happy tonight :)

Edit: we didn't know about the size changing bug. Going to look into it, thanks for letting us know.

LD46 — Keep it alive

The Pacifist by AlexFSmirnov 2020-04-20T15:39:20Z

I got 3.2k on my first playthrough with only 10 enemies killed! Epic game and super fun. Especially trying not to kill downed zombies with the aforementioned shotgun xD I wish you had time for SFX man, and it'd be a gem :)

overall - really fun, polished and different from the usual top-downs with respect to that pacifism mechanic, which adds a lot more care to whatever you do. Also tried speedrunning it with murders only and no HP loss - didn't earn as many points, so being merciful definitely pays off.

Bonus points from me for rainbow coloured protagonist :D
