web and mac builds coming soon; also, flame me for level design :P

shaurya-juneja 2019-10-07 21:31

cool platformer game!

earnso 2019-10-07 21:41

Gimme a reply when the mac/web-build is out.

sirred 2019-10-07 21:52

Enjoyed the game. I liked the hidden elements that killed you that you werent able to see yet even though it was a little bit frustrating. Good sound design.

duboisaxel 2019-10-07 22:16

Really fun to play and enjoyed that upgrading system

alexfsmirnov 2019-10-07 22:39

@earnso Web build is live but it can't really run the game at full speed, so it might be difficult to play. We'll tell you when a mac build is up but you can try the web version anyway.

vaclav-kucera 2019-10-08 06:06

@earnso mac build is up :)

slagathor 2019-10-09 05:01

One of my favorite games so far actually! I really like the idea of changing the resolution as a gameplay mechanic. I think you guys pulled it off really well! Challenging levels too, which made me think!

aden 2019-10-09 05:09

love the idea.

black-flag 2019-10-09 15:35

This is such a cool interpretation of the theme, the graphics slowly progressing was such a coll thing to watch come to life! The audio was also really nice, the controls were also easy to pickup! Overall, this is a great jam entry!

cyrolis 2019-10-12 12:57

It was not easy at all ! but you get the theme for sure :) !

croewens 2019-10-12 13:56

Hey there, had some troubles running the game on web. Came here to check that you have to play it in 16:9. Retried and realised that I was just being stupid haha. Great submission. Music feels mysterious and I like the controls!

oddarock 2019-10-12 14:05

Excellent interpretation of the theme. It is simple and yet innovative. I really enjoyed the music as well. One of my favorite games!

digitaldude555 2019-10-12 14:22

Very innovative and unique take on this theme, I made it past stage 1 colelcted 5 gpu then collected 4 gpu on stage 2 before giving up. Fun at first but does become very frustrating as you constantly die. Death counter would be cool btw. Graphics are just okay even fully upgraded, sound is fine too. Over all great game.

someone 2019-10-12 15:07

Interesting idea. The platforming feels solid. The spike hitboxes were a bit unforgiving. Got stuck for a while on the second level for a while because I didn't think the jump at the bottom left was possible. Then I had to start over after I got the last gpu of the final level because my xbox controller I have plugged in started messing up the movement and made it impossible to control. It was much easier the second time round. Great entry. I really enjoyed playing it. Challenging but not too frustratingly difficult.

The html5 version was cut off at 980x600. I was able to use the web developer tools to resize the canvas to 1080x600 once I realised this.

Edit: the jittering started again on the bonus level and my controller is no longer plugged in, so no idea what could be causing it.

heartclaw 2019-10-12 16:56

@someone , I'm really glad you made it as far as to the bonus level. Shame the controller screwed you over, but if at some point you try it again, let me know if you manage to beat it. So far nobody has done it from start to end - not even out team (we tested everything separately and it all works and is possible, but we just lacked patience xD)

Thanks, everyone, for your reviews! We are going to polish the game further and expand it soon. Your comments are very helpful!

someone 2019-10-12 17:59

Your response prompted me to have another go at the bonus level. Got through the other levels super fast but hit that bug again on the bonus level that makes it unplayable. Seems to have something to do with dying on the moving platform on the right. It looks like the platform is still affecting the player position after respawning as the player is bouncing in the direction the platform is moving as if I was still on the moving platform.

Ooh - managed to solve it by getting onto that platform again - I can continue!

someone 2019-10-12 18:50

Finally completed it. I am a beast! Managed to trigger that platform bug a few more times but managed to resolve it. Interestingly triggering it on the final platform made me tiny. That was weird. Anyway, great game. A death counter would be a nice addition. It is good that you respawn quickly.

alexfsmirnov 2019-10-12 20:03

Omg @someone, you truly are a beast! Congratulations on beating the game! :tada: You're literally the first one to completely finish it, we're impressed

heartclaw 2019-10-12 20:05

@someone, thank you for submitting the bug report. We figured it out just now as well and it is indeed the platform. Apparently, if you get hit by the spiked platform, the game simultaneously assigns new motion parent to the player as well as it says that you're dead. So, when you respawn, you don't trigger the condition to remove parenting (by leaving a moving platform). We will work out how it can be solved in the easiest and safest way.

Also, you are amazing! Beating that bonus level is freaking hard. I commend on your patience and thank you for being so determined at beating it. You made me really happy tonight :)

Edit: we didn't know about the size changing bug. Going to look into it, thanks for letting us know.

aj-jones 2019-10-28 23:30

Really unique concept, i liked how everything upgraded with each new graphics card, including the music. Controls are a bit frustrating, seems like they are a bit floaty. The webgl version had elements out of the screen unless you made it full screen, which is something to note.
