LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Pax Nebulae by p-r 2022-04-08T21:03:31Z

Was completely lost as to what to do Combat was a bit unintuitive, but ended up figuring it out. Balance was strange though, since numbers on either side really affected hit points since the number of actions was always the same. Visuals were very jarring, with the bright yellow being a bit painful to look at.

The Last Line by p0l4r 2022-04-08T21:33:08Z

Fun game, liked the weapon customization Sound hurt the ears when using splitter components though Also in terms of splitter components: feels like the game was not balanced with them in mind. Blue/grey splitters quickly broke the game, with 4 or 5 of them reducing framerate to a crawl. Red splitters were way too strong, I grabbed one first round one playthrough, and never took any damage. Eventually enemies just stopped spawning. The deviancy stat of the splitters is also problematic; if you have 2 or more splitters you no longer need to aim, you just center the mouse on the screen and hold down the mouse button, and the cannonballs will hit everything. Side note, was very confused as to what the blue components actually do, as they say -damage and +damage. Also not sure what the "power" stat did.

Red Riding Hood by Jiri Hysek 2022-04-08T21:45:44Z

Interesting game! Loved the music, and thought the artwork was incredible. Jumping and attacking felt a little clunky, but still enjoyable.

Hairless Soon by Beebo Studios 2022-04-09T21:21:27Z

Definitely a unique game. Graphics have excellent polish, music is good. Will note that the scythe sound effect gets a bit grating. Also would have liked an indicator to show the area in which you could plant hair. Potions seemed kind of useless? Seemed like it made a single square of crops grow to full, which is either going to get you 5 or 10 hair, while the potion costs 20. Also could've been more obvious when lucky streaks were ready for harvesting, since they sparkle before you can actually harvest. I ended up wasting a decent amount of time running around trying to harvest hair that wasn't ready. Regular hair by contrast had a slight colour change when it was ready, which was nice.

Tower of cards by Vhalenn 2022-04-08T21:39:09Z

Interesting game. Really liked the music and graphics. Balance between needing to make money and keep the workers in line is an interesting mechanic, though I felt the worker anger line moved a bit too quickly for me to properly react to it. Side note, exit button at the end of the game doesn't seem to work properly.

QUADRATORUM by Blue Pin Studio 2022-04-10T18:58:28Z

Probably the best game I've played so far this jam. Loved the audio, and the synchronization with the character. Graphics conveyed exactly what it needed to (and I really enjoyed the unique way of displaying remaining health). Controls felt good, and the cutscene at the end was really cute.

Space Onslaught by SharpLoaded 2022-04-08T20:49:18Z

Fun little game. Performance needs a little work, it starts lagging pretty quickly. I also noticed that once you put down 3-4 money buildings, the economy kind of breaks; for the rest of the game you can build faster than aliens can destroy. Also, soldier movement seems kind of buggy, they don't seem very able to move around buildings. And the wall building didn't seem particularly useful; I used it once but found that you're generally better off using a turret as a wall since it can take more damage while also killing enemies.

Asteroid Anarchy by Mateu 2022-04-10T18:44:56Z

Fun game, controls felt smooth and audio works well with game/theme. Felt awkward to shoot while moving side to side because of the ship tilting though, and that plus all enemies killing me in one hit led me to try and just park the ship in a turret blind spot for each power plant enemy.

Project Memory: Delay Extinction by RaXaH 2022-04-08T22:01:02Z

Great game, great theme. Enjoyed the audio, graphics were well suited to the game. Controls were confusing, and I definitely felt like I never had enough money (which is probably intended). Wasn't really able to play around with PR or Rehab, as I felt I had to throw all my money at more rangers.

Beautiful art and music, clever gameplay, overall excellent game. Enjoyed playing with different potential combinations of ship components
