LD46 — Keep it alive

Keep It Alive by danman9914 2020-04-28T06:57:44Z

Very cool idea, and i love the whole post-apocatiptic setup. I love the style and the pixel art, and the old man's story. Keeping the heart alive is a very good idea for the theme. I loved the minimal control scheme and the Mad Max like goons. The atmosphere was intense and maybe in the future you can add music to it. Best of luck!

Very cool and funky look for the game. I love the atmosphere and how it feels when you shoot with peas. Music is top notch and the graphics equals. I am inspired by your game. Well done!

I liked the setup and the idea for the game. Every iteration of the virus was very well made, slowly and walking and them walking backwards. Very cool. I'm thinking what if you take the virus with you to the bunker? :D

I liked your game and the atmosphere. Very spooky and with great potential for a horror game. The graphics are really well made and the dogs animations are cute. I felt lost after a couple of rooms in when my light went out. I kept trying to return to the surface but i was stuck on the stairs up. I loved the spooky character on the chair, gave me goosebumps when it moved. I think that's how it feels for a dog sometimes, lost in a human world looking for emotion.

Thank you @shaolin-dave for playing it, i've been wanting to take part in LDJam for a long time. I agree about the controls being a bit weird. I've hinted some about the brother's fever, but i didn't know how much info would the player need. Thanks

Thank you for playing it @dhialga @vertuga32, it was quite short i know. It was done over the Easter Weekend and time was very short. I tried to make a very quick slice from what i can expand later on. I want to add more to it, more object quests, interaction and dialogue. I am so bummed out i didn't have time to add music and sound to it. That matters so much for the mood and atmosphere. But I will ;).

Thanks @simansimon for playing it. There's still tweaking to be done with the fever you are right, I want to work more on making time relative to what you do on the map. Maybe make the map smaller and maybe add more tasks. I'm feeling right now it's just back and forth and it gets repetitive fast. I want to add more exploration elements. Thanks!

Thanks for playing it @gnocchi, the feedback has been that it's too short, and missing content, and i agree. I will work on it more to make it tight. I only used the characters from the pack, the rest i did myself.

Thank you all for playing it! - @asfdfdfd Thanks i wanted to have sort of a one room - one story/mechanic kind of interaction. - @jk5000 I know, i didn't have time to make some music, but that's the first thing on the next update. Thanks! - @microchasm Thank you, i had some issues in the last hours before publishing the game, and i think i messed up some of the triggers, but i will make a bug pass and test it thoroughly. Very good point with the high detail terrain, i just wanted to offer the experience part, but i think you're right, less is more. I totally got that from the Witness as well, i love that game!

Save the Fish by Duck Reaction 2020-04-28T07:16:40Z

A very funny game, I liked the graphics and the "command" to advance mechanic, but the text was a bit too fast to read for me. The sound and atmosphere works well with the game and the "Wilhelm Scream" was a nice touch. After a couple of times i managed to make it work, but it felt repetitive after a while.
