Solid jam experience! Simple, intuitive, and very well put together. Left full ratings across all categories! We’d really appreciate it if you could test out our game too when you have a minute! Keep up the great work!

On firefox at least, I found the camera uncontrollable. (It would always gimbal lock straight up or down, couldn't aim anywhere else). Chrome appears to work. (I think firefox just isn't accepting the pointer steal; not a huge deal but you might want to mention this in your project page so others don't get confused)

The tutorial is very necessary to get anywhere, and even then it took me a while to fully figure out the flow. I still wasn't able to progress very far, the second lamp is blocked by something and I quickly died. It's hard to read enemies and damage here, especially with how fast you die. I also could never get the gun to shoot, after tamping down it would return to the "shoot" position but never seemed to want to fire.

I did find a "Duck behind the light when something appears" strategy mostly usable for a bit though.

Overall a very cool idea with a spooky mood, once you get past the esoteric controls it's pretty neat. (And the controls are well thought out here and add tension, the main drawback is really just the rushed tutorial.)

Nice work!

Hi, completed your game, good jam. I liked simulation parts, both with gun and with lanterns!

!>There were some serious freezes and even dead freezes in web version, you may want to check it out. But only on start and in start location.

@fireslash Hey, thanks, that's some good feedback!

I'm not sure what went wrong with your gun, it should be able to fire (left click, obviously) after you load it and ram it three times. It will then switch to firing position as you said, and should be ready to fire anytime... In theory :/

The bigger lamps on the right side are guarded by a beefier, stationary enemy, that you need to shoot. I can see how that could be a problem with a malfunctioning gun, though 😏

And yeah, when in doubt or need to reload, just stand under a lit lamp and you should mostly be fine.

This is a fun idea and i really liked the detail put into the gameplay controls! Reloading the musket was a highlight, and having to do it in the dark really stressed me out lol. Great work and congrats on finishing the jam!!

I really like the mini-games for reloading and turning on the lights! I wish the musket felt more "powerful", since it takes so long to reload, every shot should really pack a punch. I want to feel that power, through more impactful sound effects, screen shake, movement, recoil, more visual effects, things like that!

Impressive work, especially considering how little time you had for the jam! Congratulations! It was really fun to feel like a lamplighter for a while, and I thought the weapon reloading mechanic was a really clever idea. The game looks great and plays amazingly well. Really well done, fantastic game! 🎉

Good work! I really like a reloading mini game and simple game loop! Ghosts are also give you an additional stree factor! Some time game was a bit laggy, but I sure is not because of game, maybe smth wrong on itch.io side.

Hey this is really cool! I love games where simple interactions are fleshed out past "press R to reload", and this was pretty well executed. Lighting that very last lamp was quite a task - felt like the yellow monsters were practically spawning in on top of me. I managed to do it though! Really enjoyed this, nice work.

The mechanics of reloading the weapon add an extra element. It heightens the tension and stress. The idea of fuel lamps is a clever one.

Loved the mood and the mechanic. It is quite immersive.

I found the game pretty difficult, but maybe that's because I was too impatient... I couldn't reastart the game after death, I had to reload the page, I'm not sure why though.

Wow really great mood and use of the theme. Very immersive experience but not my general cup of tea with every little step is like real life. But I understand that was the experience and mood you were going for and you pulled off the execution perfectly. Great job!

Haha our entries are indeed very similar! Unfortunately I could not play your game for long. I tried in the browser. There's no fullscreen button so the game view was super small. Most importantly, you don't lock the cursor in the middle, so I could not aim. And when my cursor left the game's viewport, it froze. But it looked like it had a ton of potential and what I did see looked great!

parxer 2026-10-26 18:09 ♥ 2

@chuckeles I'm sorry to hear you had trouble playing... Are you on Firefox perhaps? People have reported issues with that, so if you wanna give it another go, you might try another browser. I'm not sure how to solve it, since it seems to be some problem with Godot web export. Anyway, thanks for checking it out, and good luck with your ratings!

marcus-otterstrom 2026-10-26 23:07 ♥ 2

Good job! Quite a difficult game, the range of the enemies and how fast they killed you felt a bit unfair sometimes, I died within 0.5s because of some enemy hiding inside a box. Also had some problems with the web build in firefox and chrome. The reload animation for the musket is really satisfying, great job on that. The 3d models for everything look really nice as well ✨️

I had a lot of fun playing this! I liked how all he actions taking so long and having so many steps made me strategize about when I'd push forward to light the next lamp vs staying back in the safety of the light to reload. I wish there was a way to heal or not die so quickly, it seemed like as soon as I realized that I was being attacked, I'd die. I think adding some more noises that the monsters make that get louder as they get closer would help with that too.
