loved the atmospheric music and the ending!
Nice atmosphere, I enjoyed walking around in the dark in this forest! I got one ending - not sure I understand it, I might be missing some reference here :-)
An easy addition which would greatly benefit the atmosphere: footstep sounds (also, door squeaking and radio noise would be cool. But in a game where 90% of the time is spent walking, footstep sounds are a must). Indeed, some SFX would help "blending" the gameplay experience with the music.
I love the vibe and mood of the game. The music makes this less of a horror, maybe more a midnight ambient which is really cool - it has a bit of a strange vibe but not scary. I picked up the battery, got the code but was not sure how I can place the battery in the radio. Do I need to charge it somewhere before I can place it in the radio tower?
It was a long time just walking towards the indicators. I found the first number and entered it. Then I get the impression that I should enter a second number, but I don't know where I was supposed to get it from. :/
@ace17 Thanks for the detailed feedback! Footsteps were on my list, but I didn't have enough time to implement them. I totally agree about the door squeak and radio static — SFX would really pull the atmosphere together. The cryptic ending is partly intentional and partly because I ran out of time. I'm glad you liked the atmosphere!
Nice work with the lighting and sounds - I really felt the immersion! Btw, I think it would be better from a UX point of view if you allowed the player to take the note and look at it anytime
@hotaloca Thanks! It is not a full horror game, so I'm glad you liked the atmosphere. About the battery: you need to carry it to the terminal and press E to place it. No need to charge it. Let me know if it's still not working, maybe it's a bug.
@paulmag Thanks for the feedback! That part was not clear enough, so I just updated the page with a hint section under a spoiler tag if you want to try it again. Short explanation: There are actually two frequencies to tune. The note gives you the first one, and you have to find the second one by watching the oscilloscope.
@croxx Ah, I had to actually use the oscilloscope, of course. I'm such a dumb dumb. 🤤 Ok, so let's just tune it, press the button a few times 😎 🥺
I enjoyed the atmosphere and initial set up. The art style was cool too. Unfortunately I gave up because traversing the large distance was not rewarding or fun. I think this would work well if you tightened up the space a ton!
A sprint mechanic and some view bobbing would have made the walking more engaging. The atmosphere was so good, that I felt constantly uneasy, waiting vor something to jump out of the forest.
I liked the atmosphere in the game. I was trying to make something similar and found you on Discord.
I absolutely love the vibe and mood of this game! The music creates a really cool 'midnight ambient' atmosphere it’s strange and mysterious, but not scary, which I really enjoyed. I managed to find the battery and get the code, but I got a little stuck on how to insert the battery into the radio. Do I need to charge it somewhere first? Thanks for the great experience!
A very atmospheric game!
good game
I like this atmosphere, I also tried to create an atmosphere of solitude
The overall idea is good. But its very dark. Not "uncomfortably" dark, but just dark.
It turned out atmospheric, but it’s not very clear how to play. We spent quite a while walking around and fixing the station. Entering the exact value seems unrealistic, but since the indicator turns green within a certain range, it suggests that a perfectly precise number isn’t required.
It’s unclear what to do after both values turn green. I started clicking on the right display, trying to hit the points, but not all clicks seemed to register correctly. I was missing some in-game guidance.
The way of presenting the theme of the signal is very effective. The environment and atmosphere are extremely well-crafted. The plot of the game has a strong sense of tension.
