Indeed, the game feels half-finished, but still I had fun playing it. I think it is a bit easy: maybe the white circle should not regain life this fast?
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD59 → Signal Defender

Nice! I enjoyed it! I'm glad it wasn't overly difficult. I like semi-idle upgrade-the-number games and this was very enjoyable. Good job!
Essentially a clicker, but with extra stakes! Very cool!
Hey! I loved the game! Felt like old school towerdefense. Still look like an early prototype with placeholders, but the gameplay is fun. (maybe a little too easy at this stage).
Fun to play for sure. A little too tricky to gauge my points to buy upgrades with - unless I overlooked a counter somewhere).
Thanks for sharing, the implemented features work out well and the game is fun! I had some Issues with the Shop Items beeing partcialy out of screen in full-screen tho
A very relaxing gameplay experience, and I also really like the crisp sound effects in the game—it feels just like popping a bubble 🫧
At first I had no idea what to do, but after some experimenting I understood that the red circles are enemies, the green ones are towers, and the pink ones are collectors.
I think a slightly larger click radius for attacks would make hitting enemies feel better. I also noticed that several collectors often went for the same coin while others nearby were ignored. Some logic to prevent that would help a lot. Near the end of the game my collectors stopped moving entirely.
I was also not sure whether the towers can be moved manually, since mine kept spawning very close to each other.
Overall though, this is a very nice little game. With a few bug fixes it could become really great!
This game is incredibly addictive. The sound effects and music are perfectly chosen.
And all that with just coloured circles! Well done :thumbsup:
Really nice and enjoyable little game loop here, nice job!
Despite saying it wasnt finished i had a great time playing, didnt think i would be but actually got locked in. Cool entry.
You say it's half-finished, but it was actually really fun. Wish there was more :)
Nice tower defence game, enjoyed playing it. It really needs graphics. Particles and sounds suit good for the current version.
Unfortunately, for some reason the collectors were broken. As soon as the first enemy touched the base, the collector would move to the center of the base instead of going to the resources. Because of this, just to play a bit, I had to restart the game around 10 times so the collector could gather the initial resources. Thanks to that, I managed to buy another collector and a few towers, but the new collectors didn’t move either, so in the end I still lost. It’s a shame the game didn’t work properly, since the core mechanic was clear and quite fun. Good luck with your future projects!chrome_B5Hu4Q951c.png
Unfortunately, there are some game breaking bugs that I encountered pretty early that discouraged the play.
If you click twice to buy a tower (because you have enough money), the game will let you do that, charge you twice, increase the price twice, but will only let you place one tower.
Collectors kept breaking - they would just stand and do nothing.
It would be great for towers to have some range indicator, or a projectile, to give you a feeling of how far they can shoot.
@miclefirst Thank you for your feedback! The collectors aren't really broken; I just didn't explain it well. They have 3 different states: Idle: They wait for something to do. Collect: They are collecting resources. Repair: If the base is damaged, they will try to fix it. And the last one has the highest priority.
But definitely there are some bugs. Maybe I should have made it possible to collect resources by clicking on them.
@mcbaker Thank you for your feedback! If you double-click on the tower, it will actually buy 2 towers but place the first one under the shop UI. (Which is still annoying..) You are right, some kind of range indicator for the towers would be a good idea.
@loig @isaac-hisey @zedgame @flowerfield-games Thank you for playing the game, and thank you for your feedback!
@ranarh Thank you for playing the game, there should be a counter in the upper-left corner.
@immi Thank you for playing it! Unfortunately I just made the game for a fixed 1920x1080 resolution, so there could be problems with different resolutions.
@shivvvy Thank you for your feedback!
@caelestial Thank you for playing the game!
@nadia-pixel Thank you for your feedback! Yes, the collectors have a very basic AI; it could be improved for sure. They stopped moving because they were repairing the base. I didn't add enough feedback for that, so it is pretty confusing.
You should be able to place the towers with the mouse anywhere on the map.
@fifut Thank you!
@jawdan Thanks!
@bigdippers Thank you, I'm glad you liked it!
@aruseus Thank you! I'm happy to read that you had fun.
Nice small TD with good idea and mechanic implementation.
@venomousmouse Thank you for playing it!
Nice game. I had fun playing it, but unfortunately I wasn't very good. :sweat_smile:
@redphoenix2412 Thank you!
Looks like I encountered a few game breaking bugs, like collectors not moving to retrieve the money. Money was also blocking the clicks on the ennemies beneath so as time went by, it became harder and harder to kill ennemies :sweat_smile:
It's a interesting base for a tower defense game and if not for those bugs, I would have been compelled to play until the signal was fully charged !
Good job anyway :)
Completed it, very satisfying! It's fairly simple, but it's a great jam entry because it ramps up in both difficulty and excitement, and then ends before it gets boring.
One quick thing for future jams (in case you weren't aware): On your Unity Canvas, set the scaling mode to "Scale with Screen Size" and then the match mode to 1 (Height). Right now it seems to be exactly fit for 1080p, and anything smaller cuts off parts of the UI.
Fun game, managed to win and enjoyed it! Would be great if the game paused when opening the shop. Also noticed the collectors kept trying to fight enemies instead of picking up all the gold lying around the tower :grimacing:
Very fun and slightly addictive game, maybe missing a bit of polish but good complete game mechanics
way too easy white circle regens faster than enemies can touch it still had fun popping sounds are satisfying like bubble wrap
